History

Established in 2008.

The concept of LooseLeaf Lounge was in the works for a while before it opened. The owners, Lester and Philip, used to throw and promote parties in the Chicago area. They were always avid tea drinkers and were looking to open a place to combine their two passions. LooseLeaf Lounge was the perfect spot. It combines organic and fair trade quality teas, along with sandwiches, soups, and salads, with a social and artistic atmosphere.

With roots in the art community, we want to provide a place for artists to gain exposure. We host monthly art galleries, music showcases, and open mics. We also can do your fundraisers or group meetings.

We provide a place for students to study, at home workers can use our free wi-fi, and friends can meet and chat. Our food is made to order and each tea is made individually. We also carry freshly baked pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and Metropolis coffee. So please come visit us and take in the LooseLeaf Lounge experience.
