Donald Louis Parson was born in Hushpuckina, MS. On October 28, 1959, at the age of 12, he accepted the call into the ministry. His first message was entitled, «For God So Loved the World.» He traveled with his father as the «Boy Evangelist» while also preaching for many youth days and revivals in Chicago and surrounding areas. He attended Chicago’s Jenner Elem., Cooley Jr. High & Robert Waller HS. At age 19, he was called to pastor his first church, Jerusalem BC in Gary, IN. He served there until, in April 1973, he accepted the call to pastor Mt. Calvary MBC on Chicago’s far south side. Under his leadership, Mt. Calvary’s membership grew from a few hundred to almost 5,000. He also left the legacy of building Chicago ‘s largest Sunday School, and an Educational Building/Christian Academy. On Nov. 6, 1991, he was led to organize a new ministry, Logos Baptist Assembly, which has been a beacon light of hope, help & encouragement in the community & abroad for over 20 years.
