I’ve been here before had a great experience with Amy, but yesterday was desperate for a cut so I tried someone new. Felt throughout the process she had a bit of a standoffish vibe at certain points in our conversation and the process, she didn’t really want to see any pictures of how I’d like my haircut. I felt somewhat dismissed about that part of the initial hair consultation when I said what I was thinking about doing. I took off 6 inches from my long hair and wanted a long bog, so I really wanted to feel ensure our vision was aligned. It wasn’t, but good thing hair grows back fast.

So upsetting. I had an appt at 9 am on Saturday. Woke up to a flat tire. So I called and told them I was running behind. Made it there at 9:15 (had to catch an über) only to receive a phone call as I’m outside of the building that they can no longer see me. I understand I was late but I called numerous times before 9 to let them know… finally when she picked up she told me «ok that’s fine see you soon». Paid über… get there and they reject me. I was a first time customer… was excited to have my hair done because hey had great reviews. I’m not impressed… horrible customer service. she didn’t even offer me another time or anything… just a «we cannot take you anymore». Extremely disappointed.

I was never really a haircut kind of guy until I discovered Logan Parlor. Actually, my wife discovered Logan Parlor first and told me I had to check it out.
For the past year or so I’ve been getting monthly trims & buzzes from owner and stylist Jamie. She’s awesome, the Parlor staff is awesome and I’ve never been unhappy with any of my haircuts. Seriously, I’ve ramped up my trim frequency by 1,000% since discovering Logan Parlor.
Highly recommended!

I always look forward to my appointments here because the entire staff is very friendly and welcoming. Jamie really takes the time to figure out exactly what I want, even though I’m picky when it comes to my hair.
My favorite part of this place is that Jamie is always teaching — she has taught me a lot about different colors to try in my hair and always offers helpful tips to style my hair at home. I never really used hair products before, but she has showed me the right ones to use that have made a big difference. Other stylists at other salons had mostly encouraged me to straighten my hair which is very time consuming and not really what I want. Jamie has taught me how to style my hair with its natural wave which takes much less time and I love it!

I recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking to switch up salons. I am very hesitant to let people touch my hair (too many bad experiences), so I was nervous. My hair was SUPER damaged, patchy, uneven, and just plain gross on the ends. This place had great reviews and was super close to me, so I decided to try it out.
First of all, this place is SO CUTE INSIDE. I didn’t know they were a redken salon. I was offered tea, coffee, or water and they even had cookies! For my hair, I had Amy; she was very nice, friendly, knowledgable, and knew exactly what I wanted when I was describing it to her. My hair was extremely damaged from bleaching it out a while ago, so we did a deep conditioning treatment and she cut all the shaggy dead parts off. Every few minutes, she would ask how I was feeling about it, she would tell me why she was doing what to each section, and gave me styling and care tips. I knew my hair was in bad shape, and now it looks fab! It’s about collarbone length, the shortest I’ve ever cut, and I love it. It looks so much healthier! I booked my next appointment already and am looking forward to it. :)

I am new-​ish to Chicago and was SO excited to try this place out — I’m happy to say that I’ve definitely found my haircut spot! Suzi cut my hair and she did an awesome job. She listened to my needs but still provided great suggestions for how I can refine my look and I am very happy with the results! Can’t wait for my next trip, and will likely come a little early just so I have time to hangout at the bar and drink coffee/​eat treats while reading the paper or something. They were running a little behind and were extremely apologetic about it, to compensate gave me a complementary conditioning treatment! This is on top of the free coffee, tea, mimosas, cookies, they offer anyone! The complementary treatment went above and beyond my expectations for running a little behind, so it was much appreciated.
Also, the amazing cut and style, atmosphere, friendly staff and treats at the bar were all for a MUCH lower price than I was expecting to pay, and would have paid for a comparable quality experience.

*KATE* is my truly amazing gal-​pal hair goddess.
Months back I decided to cut off all my hair from a below the shoulder length mop into a pixie, and she was the only person on Earth I trusted to do the job. She came through with a kick ass undercut/​pixie that made me feel like I could take on the world. She’s good at that… making you feel olé’ girl Bey type of amazing.
Since then, I’ve been growing it out for my upcoming wedding, and let me tell you– there’s no awkward in-​between crazy hair with Kate on the job. She’ll trim it up and shape it so it stays just as perfect as ever, as it turns from a pixie to a bob.
So, if you love looking like a hott mama, love poodles to snuggle on, love wine and freshly baked treats, look no further! Logan Parlor’s got you covered.

Amy has been my stylist for awhile now and I won’t go to anyone else. She really cares about the health of your hair, knows her products, and will happily explain hair care/​color maintenance. If you want your cut & color done right go to her.

I have enough difficulty finding someone comfortable working with extremely curly hair like mine. I’m biracial and my hair has some very specific needs, so finding a salon or stylist that actually knows how my hair needs to be cut, or the care that goes into its upkeep, is rare.
Before I moved to Chicago I only let my brother cut my hair because I’ve had some serious encounters with bad haircuts and stylists giving me really inaccurate advice on what to put in my hair to keep it healthy. There have been too many times I’ve gambled on a new stylist or salon and walked out with no hair at all or with products that dried out my scalp to the point of physical discomfort.
That being said, I have been going to Logan Parlor for a few months now and I can safely say I love the salon! Amy cuts my hair, but the entire staff is incredibly friendly. You can tell everyone is encouraged to learn more and refine their craft. Amy helped me pick out a haircut after some hesitation on my part — I couldn’t decided exactly what I wanted to do — and she was able to perfectly translate what I asked for into a realistic haircut. If you don’t believe me, go look at her instagram: I’m the foxy boy with pink nails. Yes, I know I’m pretty, but that is beside the point!
The point being when I go into a salon I expect a very personal experience. I’m not very comfortable letting other people touch, let alone assess, my hair, but Amy not only remembers how I like my hair cut and handled, but also what I do in my day to day life and how my hair plays a part in that routine.
I also think it is necessary to discuss something being alluded to in other reviews. As a person of color, my hair has some very specific needs and limits. What I love about Amy and the folks at Logan Parlor is their discretion when it comes to trying to satisfy customers needs that might not be realistic. They are more concerned with the health of your hair and its longevity than grafting a temporary and ultimately unhealthy look on your head. This is incredibly ethical and thoughtful on the behalf of the stylists and the salon as a whole. It means they value you above your money and want to have a long-​term relationship in which you and your hair benefit.

I had long hair and wanted to get a short cut for practical purposes. I was booked for an appointment and here is how it went. I walked in 15 min before my appointment and the stylist was behind 15 min. Ok not a problem, 20 min later I was seated for my hair cut. The stylist was very nice very attentive to what I wanted done and made sure she answered all of my questions before she started to cut. She cut in a straight line which I thought was different and then she cut my bangs. I feel like it took more time to blow dry my hair itself than the actual cut. Yes it doesn’t feel as heavy because a lot of hair was cut off but it still feels heavy in the back. Amy who was my stylist did not use a razor so I’m assuming that’s not her style To lessen the weight off the back but I guess It is an ok cut I was expecting a different experience based on the reviews. It’s a nice and friendly place very welcoming but not the WOW experience I was looking for.

I have been to a lot of places around the city to get my hair cut over the past 10 years, but I’ve finally found a place that I’ll will go back repeatedly.
Things I love:
1) Kate. She did an amazing job on my hair and set me up for success once I left as well. I don’t need to spend a lot of time to style it because the cut is amazing. I echo what Laura said about describing something in ambiguous terms but Kate def knew how to translate what I wanted.
2) You can schedule your appointment online. That made it super easy to find a time that works for my schedule.
3) There is free street parking if you can find it on the side streets, but the meter spots out front are always there.
4) The space is really cool and feels very comfortable.
5) Everyone that works there is really friendly makes you feel welcome.

Heard great things about this place and chose Kate on a whim (she happened to have openings within a few days). She knew exactly what I was asking for– in totally ambiguous terms– «I like this here but hate how it does this» *points at hair*.
Maybe jumping the gun by posting a review after my first cut… but I just felt like she really understood what I was going for and I ended up with a super cute cut. I’ll be back.
P. S. can we talk about how cute this place is? It really feels like a glam-​but-​homey vintage living room. Usually in salon lighting I end up analyzing every tiny blemish on my skin while I’m stuck staring at myself in the mirror. But don’t worry, it’s not just the lighting– you leave looking THAT GOOD. And everyone is lovely! No pretension here.

I have never done anything to my hair except to get it chemically relaxed since I was a wee one. I figured it was time for a change, and Logan Parlor had such great reviews I decided to make the leap and get my hair colored.
I emailed the salon about an appointment to get an ombré and called to follow up. The lady who answered was looking at my email, and said she knew a stylist who would be perfect for me. We scheduled an appointment for the next week.
I got to the salon on time and easily found street parking. When I went inside I was greeted warmly and offered a brownie by one of the salon owners’ Mom. Needless to say the brownie was delicious (I had about 2 more before I left!)
I met with my stylist, Amy, and told her what I was looking to do. She had some suggestions and we looked through a few photos I had of my desired look. She asked a lot of questions and seemed nervous about coloring already chemically processed hair, which was understandable. She took a few pieces of my hair to test with various colors, but alas without good results. Ombré had to be scratched if I wanted to have any hair at all, and instead went with a gloss, which would add a subtle hue to my hair in the sun.
The process did not take very long (I am used to long hours in a salon) and I felt well taken care of the whole time. Amy was friendly and did a good job, however I did not see much of a difference in my hair. Granted, I have dark hair, but I thought I would see a little bit more color. I am also used to my hair being super straight, and while she used the steam to get it straight, it was not in the way that I am used to. I honestly just think that she had never worked with hair like mine before and therefore was not sure how to properly deal with it (it takes a lot, believe me, I’ve been dealing with it forever). Overall, my hair felt softer and healthier which I am grateful for, but I did not walk out with what I had originally thought I would have or anything that satisfying. I will say it was a good baby step for someone who has never colored their hair AND I was grateful that she tested my hair beforehand (very responsible) and yet…
Great salon overall! Super cute, clean, and friendly staff! I just wish they were more familiar with african american hair. I saw they have services for dreads, but would be nervous of their ability to take care of that correctly just based on my experience.

I was lucky enough to happen upon an appointment as a walk-​in. I therefore had few preconceived notions about the place. I was paired up with Kate and she was amazing! She took time to find out what I really wanted and even busted out the Pinterest App to make sure we were on the same page. My hair is stupidly thick and hard to cut and she knew just what to do with it.
(All of this on the day before her honeymoon vacation. I know I would have been a little more than distracted.)
Thanks for fitting me in Kate and Logan Parlor! I’ll surely be back.

Ya’ll: this salon is gorgeous/darling…and the women who work here are so lovely and talented! The prices are absolutely reasonable. The complimentary beverages are divine. The tiny hypoallergenic lap-​dogs are beyond precious. The décor is thoughtful and artful. I have nothing but respect and admiration for my new hair salon in Chicago. SO SO SO happy. Super-​dooper grateful.

I have been following Jamie DiGrazia since she worked at Milio’s. This hair salon is by far the best. It’s extremely clean, and everyone is very nice. If you’re looking for an expert in color, look no further than Jamie D. She mixes the best red hair color I’ve ever seen. I get complements about my hair all the time, and people think it’s natural. Jamie is so good about working with you about the color and how much money you want to put into your hair.
As a girl with long hair (at least 9 inches below my shoulders), it can get expensive to color your hair. The prices here are very reasonable.

Go to the Logan Parlor, you won’t be disappointed!

I came across Jamie D. and her styling talents just as she was leaving another salon and making the transition to open her own. I hung in there in the interim and she always made time and space to cut my hair throughout the arduous task of opening the Parlor. Quite frankly, I’d let her do my hair in a back alley. She’s that good.
I’ve been in Chicago for a year now and in the past have paid high end stylist (with high end prices) in Boston, NY and San Francisco. Jamie is right up there with the best of the best. She’s creative, she’s passionate, she’s fun and the girl knows what she’s doing with a pair of scissors! She stays on top of (often ahead of) current trends and the girl will hook you up. She knows how to style hair to fit a personality, a lifestyle, a face, etc. I made a vow that no one else will ever cut my hair while I live in Chicago. I keep promises.
Logan Parlor itself is a great space — welcoming, warm tones, exposed brick, relaxing lighting, bar to belly up to, and always interesting conversation. Each piece was picked out with a purpose and it shows. Including the squishy cork flooring that I’m sure the stylist who stand all day adore! I kinda want to live there… seriously, check out the vibe in the little room where they wash your hair. Throw in someone doing reflexology and I may never leave!

Well done Logan Parlor!

The owners of Logan Parlor have done a fantastic job creating a contemporary space that still retains the charm of Logan Square. Lots of exposed brick mixed in with polished wood. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and was offered a mimosa (win!), but they also had craft coffee and tea.
Jaime did a top notch job on my cut and color. She does a really amazing job suggesting color that will go well with your skin tone, but also that will transition well into the next season. I highly suggest her if you want to go red! This is definitely a salon with really educated employees that don’t act stuffy or superior.
Oh…and there’s two toy sized hypoallergenic dogs. They are really sweet and will sit on your lap if you want or are happy to hang out one of the chairs. A good way to get your puppy fix.
