Specialties
Little Green Tree House is a vibrant early childhood center that serves children between 6 weeks and 5 years of age. LGTH provides high quality care combined with a strong educational foundation and a focus on environmental consciousness. From our organic meals to our rooftop garden with skyline views, our various indoor play spaces and classrooms filled with natural materials, LGTH sets the bar high for childcare. Our teachers are highly educated and receive age-specific training, allowing them to effectively communicate each new developmental stage your child reaches. Each day, LGTH provides high quality care while respecting the environment.
History

Little Green Tree House originally opened in July 2009 with our first location in the West Loop. We opened our 2nd location at 3111 N Ashland Avenue in January 2013.
Meet the Manager
Erin L.
Manager
Erin Lyon is committed to making the child care center a place for growing and learning in a warm, safe and healthy environment with an emphasis on earth-friendly living and positive socialization. Ms. Lyon brings great energy and expertise to the job. Her experience includes a Directorship at the prestigious Tutor Time Childcare/Learning Center in New York City. She holds a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Sacred Heart University. The custom Little Green Tree House curriculum is based largely on the Creative Curriculum, which is commonly used in most pre-school and kindergarten classes, but also includes components of a theme-based curriculum. «My main goal is for our teachers to be hands on and to provide a curriculum that can be easily adapted to different ability levels. The research of Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson and Lev Vygotsky, as well as Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences all impact this custom curriculum.»
