I have taken my car, a 2006 Audi A4, to Lincoln Square Service multiple times now over the last year since purchasing it. I have had a variety of services done, from a simple oil change to diagnosing a repairing a bad high pressure fuel pump. I have complete trust and faith in the shop’s ability to fix my vehicle with a caring attention to detail.
Carmelo is a great business owner that goes above and beyond to make sure all your concerns are addressed. He patiently listens to your cars issues or any fears you may have concerning your car. He is one of the most honest people out there and has always done his absolute best to fix my car. It’s not very easy to find a trustworthy independent mechanic with the ability to work on complex issues that crop up in Audi’s. I would recommend anyone to seek out Lincoln Square Service the next time they need any sort of auto repair.
I’d also like to mention that Lincoln Square Service accepted my third party warranty.

I like to do as much of my own repair work as possible (under the close supervision of my in-​laws, who actually know what they’re doing) but their garage is in the suburbs and sometimes repairs can’t wait. In those instances I never hesitate to go straight to Lincoln Square Service.

We are on our third car that we’ve taken to LSS for everything from an oil change to major work. Their work is expert, their diagnostic skill is 110%, and their integrity is unparalleled. They’ll give you a thorough, honest explanation and list of options. It’s amazing to have a car place you can trust as much as your mom, but that’s what you get here. Their labor charges are beyond fair, too — and they’ll get you the best price they can find on parts, when there’s more than one possibility.
I’ve been here with some weird Chicago road construction disasters, a set of lemon tires the new car dealership sold me, then wouldn’t cover, flat tires, dead batteries, scary engine noises or lights, weather damage… in the midst of a car emergency, it’s at least a silver lining to know I have a trustworthy expert to turn to. And they are so respectful, friendly, and professional… this place has it ALL.

Eight years I’ve been taking my ancient Ford Ranger to Lincoln Square Service for service and repairs. In that time I’ve not once received anything but an honest answer, a timely repair and a reasonable cost.

I’ve taken several cars to Carmelo over the years and NEVER been disappointed. He’s honest and he and his people are competent and trustworthy. I recommend this place to everybody. Anything you need done on any car, they can do it and most importantly will do it well, affordably, and will never BS you.

I have taken both of my cars to be looked at by Carmelo and his team and I’ve been happy with the service each time. I have even taken the care in to get checked when I’ve heard a noise and they didn’t charge me when it ended up being nothing. You don’t get service like that often in the city! They’re very knowledgeable, friendly, and have taken great care of our cars.
I don’t like when our cars get issues, but I know that Lincoln Square Service can take care of them when they do.

I’ve passed this unassuming place a million times on my way home from work and always wondered about their service. Finally I tried it last week when my «check engine» light went on.
Carmelo was immediately welcoming and gracious. He agreed to look at the car, even though it was a busy day for them. He explained things clearly and carefully. This is a place that does good, honest work at a fair price.
One note: they can get a little absent-​minded about calling you to update you on your car’s status, so I would suggest being proactive about calling in the afternoon for an update.
Otherwise, I had a great first experience with LSS and would definitely take my car back for service in the future.

Very helpful and professional! All I needed was a simple tool to fix my car and he graciously gave it to me at no charge and simply said «bring it back when you can». There are still good people in this world!

This is my 2^nd time using their services and I really appreciate having a local and trustworthy place to go to. Carmelo was on vacation when I called for a quote and although the quote was a bit «off» Carmelo honored it. What a great guy! I dropped my car off in the morning, they called me so I could pay over the phone during the day and picked up my car later that evening. Super easy and convenient! I highly recommend them and respect they way they run their shop!

Their UHaul service is OK.
Rented UHaul truck for moving twice this year. First time is good. But I have some issue with second time.
Furniture pad was put into the truck while I did not request it. I was told that I would be charged only if I break the seal and use. However I was charged anyway even if I did not touch it. The truck was burning gas at ~2 MPG. The engine light is on all the time but nobody fixed the problem.
I drove ~26 miles according to their record and I end up filling maybe 12 gallons of gas. So I think I spent extra ~$ 30 on gas.
I called CS of UHaul twice and only got refund for the unused pad (not even including the tax! I think UHAUL is poor at management.) Nobody ever talk about the gas burning issue. I hope next time I won’t have to spend more on gas than rental.

Never going to the Dealer again!!! This Place is Great! Quick Knowledgeable Service and Super Reasonable Prices. No one tried to Sell me on «Additional Work.» A Friend Referred Me, and now I see why. I am going to Refer Everyone I know here from now on. Now when something goes wrong, I have the Comfort of Knowing I have a Trustworthy Place to go. Having Very Little Knowledge of Cars, it is such a Relief to Deal with Good People and not feel like I’ve been Ripped Off.

Finding a good mechanic is very difficult, especially as a student/​relative novice to all things car. Carmelo did a transmission repair for my car for thousands under what my Honda dealership wanted to charge me. Not only does Carmelo service my car promptly and at the least expense possible, but he also sent me to a great shop in Pilsen to get my window repaired (New Pilsen Auto Glass). They fixed my window for $ 40, where another glass service quoted me $ 130! I am very impressed at the honesty and integrity of this repair shop, and I will definitely keep coming here.

Carmelo and his staff did another fantastic job for my 2001 Honda Civic. For my car’s first 195,000 miles Lincoln Square Service has been her caregiver, and she still runs like a charm. I will take my car to Carmelo for the next 195,000 miles too.

I had a friend of a friend look at my car and let me know what I needed. They recommended brakes and fixing something called sway bars on my car. I took my car into Lincoln Square Service (based on Unilocal reviews) and told them to replace the brakes, sway bars, fix a nail in my tire and look to see if there was anything else wrong with the car because I wanted it to be safe for a road trip home to Cleveland.
The owner called me later to let me know that the brakes were fine, the sway bars were put on backwards and loose but didn’t need to be replaced. He recommended a belt, fixed the tire, and put the sway bars on correctly. Basically, he could have charged me over a thousand dollars for the stuff that I incorrectly thought that I needed. Instead, he was honest and I walked out of there with a bill under $ 200.
Yes. An honest auto mechanic. I’m sold. Now I «got a guy» for my car stuff.

I dropped my ’99 Buick Century off after hours, and used their key drop box service. They were able to look at it the next day and fix a coolant leak. They replaced a clamp. They only charged me for a half hour of labor and the parts. They were very helpful and a friendly staff. I will definitely bring my Buick back when more problems come up.
I wished that they called me once they found the problem though. I didn’t know anything until I walked in after 5 to come and see if it was ready.

Went here on the advice of a mechanic friend in Madison, and am a happy camper.
They had several opportunities to rip me off on a suspension issue, but instead of spewing BS, they simply tightened a few bolts. They even took the trouble to find a used part for a different repair, saving me at least $ 75. Hourly rates ($ 91) are reasonable, and they gave realistic time frames– the stuff they couldn’t do today or tomorrow, they were up-​front about. The stuff they could do today, they banged out in less than an hour, and charged accordingly.
No condescending tone, no attempts to flatter, pressure, or flirt in order to upsell something I probably don’t need (seriously– does that even work on the average jaded Chicago woman?). Courteous, professional service with reasonable rates.
I’ll be back!

I have NOTHING but good things to say about Lincoln Park Service. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was bringing my little VW here for an oil change.
The prices were more reasonable than the place I had been taking my car before and they took far less time to get the job done. (Still the bulk of a day, but not 2 days like the place I’d been going to before. Don’t ask me why it took 2 days — I don’t know.)
The next time I brought my car in it was because one of the lights in the dashboard came on. I left it there overnight and asked them to just fix whatever was wrong and Carmelo called me the next morning to say that he thought it was just a gas lid issue. Apparently if you don’t twist it tight enough it can set off a light in some cars. (Who knew?!) He reset the light, told me to call if the light came back on, and DIDN’T CHARGE ME. (Who has ever heard of not being charged for something — even time?!)
I recently brought my car back again for an oil change, tire rotation, yadda yadda. I park on the street and a few months ago someone decided to just have a seat on the hood of my car. That’s what it looks like anyhow. I parked my car one night and it was fine and when I went to drive it the next morning what appeared to be a huge butt mark was on the hood of my car. I’ve been embarrassed about the damage ever since but was unwilling to take it in somewhere because I assumed I’d be charged an arm and a leg. Lincoln Square Service FIXED my hood when I brought the car in for the oil change. They did so without me asking and without adding an extra line item to my bill. !!!
It’s hard for a company to truly impress me, but Lincoln Square Service has done just that. On my multiple visits they’ve always gone above and beyond to be helpful, do more than they’re charging me for, and I’ve always left feeling like I didn’t pay enough. It’s not often, or ever, I can say I feel that way.
I cannot more highly recommend you take your car to Lincoln Square Service!
