History

Established in 2005.

1895 — The Lavazza company is established in Turin, Italy.

1910 — Luigi invents a method of blending coffee beans of different origins to produce superior taste.

1957 — Through years of creativity, innovation and hands-​on

management, Lavazza becomes the leading producer of roasted coffee in Italy.

1962 — Lavazza introduces vacuum-​packed ground coffee, becoming the first company in Italy to do so. This innovation was nothing short of revolutionary. Paying close attention to other changing consumer habits, Lavazza proves ahead of the curve by introducing Dek decaffeinated coffee.

1993 — The first-​ever Lavazza calendar makes its debut. Since then, world-​famous photographers such as David LaChapelle, Eugenio Recuenco, Ellen Von Unwerth and Annie Leibovitz.

2004 — Sustainable production concerns led the company to develop ¡Tierra! — a new high-​quality and sustainable coffee product.

2005 — Lavazza opens upscale cafés in Chicago’s Loop.
