This place is delicious and prices are low. The owner, Harry, is the man. His staff is so friendly and they always remember you. He supports a lot of local charity work, too. Great food, great prices, great people.

Spoiler Alert: the«fashion show» on Thursdays = $ 10 lap dances from some free wheelin’ ladies in lingerie. This made for some great picture posting on FB the next day. Drinks are cheap, the bartender is nice. There is a jukebox and food. I think it qualifies as a dive, which is sweet. Doooo it.

One of the best hometown-esque bars in the city. The staff is fantastic but bartender Honey is the best. Thank you for a fantastically fun evening! I will most certainly be back.

This place is one of the best secrets in the city. The drink prices are amazing, food is good, and staff does a great job.

If you need a place that is a see and be seen kinda place. keep movin’. This is NOT the place for you. This is a locally owned dive bar place, in the best kind of way! The owner, Harry, is a decent guy who serves decent food and booze, at decent prices. What a concept in The Loop! They have a great open mic, run by Chevy Debbie. First Friday of the month. You should come check out some great local comedians work out their stuff. No cover and great drink prices!

I always enjoyed this diner — the food isn’t good, and it’s super greasy, but it’s okay fare for a diner. Until this morning when I noticed that they were watching FOXNEWS. I asked them why are you watching this? The guy at the counter said, «Our boss says it has to be on.» I told him nicely, «Then this is the last time I“ll be here.» He said, «well, you’re just one person.» Now you can decide! Do you want your eggs with right-wing ideology or not?

The staff is friendly, the place is clean, the food is good and not expensive. They also put out some free food for happy hour on Thursday or Friday(it’s one of those days just not sure which). I’m not a foodie but if you are looking for an easy and fast food spot then you can’t go wrong with Lake and Union. Get the meatball sub, they only have it once in awhile on special but it’s delicious.

I’m sure a lot of people are afraid to walk into this Joint?! Outside looks similar to a Jailhouse and hasn’t been updated in quite some time… Inside, it’s a Really Good little Grill! Real standard Breakfast/Lunch«Grill» items on menu where everything is good. The produce they use always seems to be very fresh on all the food I’ve had. So far, I’ve tried the Burger/Hot Dogs/BLT/Brats and I liked ‘em all! Also, in true hideout fashion, there is a bar around back that is a Total Dump! Good place for a true alcoholic to pop-a-top during work and Hideout… They take phone orders and are QUICK! Give em a shot! GTFJD

This is your standard cafeteria for burgers, sandwiches, and gyros. I work around the corner, so it’s one of the few affordable options in my corner of the West Loop. The employees are very friendly and there’s good service in that respect. While there’s nothing off the set menu that’s mind blowing, it’s consistent. On Thursday they have a Sirloin Steak Sandwich that is absolutely terrific.

Ok, first off. I work very close to this joint, so it’s kinda a no-brainer to hit up in the winter. They have good sandwiches and whatnot for the day crowd. The place is basically split into two halves. there’s a luncheteria greasy spoon side, and then there’s this weird greek side that looks like well… i dunno, Greek. You’ll have to check it out yourself to make your own assumptions. Oh, and they have peanuts in the bar, that’s clutch. We went in on a tuesday night after work and found out that every tuesday and thursday from 6−8ish they have lapdancers come in for $ 10 lapdances. Yep! that’s right Unilocalers. $ 10 lapdances. You haven’t seen that since the blow-filled 80’s era. I will say that the dancers aren’t quite pedigree, but hell, this joint is a place where construction workers and other blue collar workers drink after work. Waddya expect? Stop in for a funny evening before going out somewhere else. It’s going to be a random night if you start it off at Lake & Union, that’s for sure.

«Who knew about this place and didn’t tell anyone??? Not sure how they stay in business, as it is never busy when I am there, but it is fun to go to when you are hung over on a Saturday.(Closed on Sundays) Order your meal at the counter, find a seat and read the paper or watch tv. You will be called to pick up your meal, so don’t forget the tray and utencils at the begiining of the counter. Expect lots of greese and a cure for your hangover, just in time to go back to sleep and get ready for Saturday night. Make sure you check out the all white 1940’s style room on the East side of the building.»

The kitchen is only open until 6pm here but the bar stays open until 9. This isn’t really a hot spot to hang out and the food isn’t really much to write home about. its mostly a dump where some locals hang out
