Music Lessons – We offer instruction in classical and jazz piano, guitar, theory and composition to students of all ages. Lessons are 1 hour and include performance, reading, theory and aural skills. For very early ages, we offer ½ hour lessons for the first 6 months of instruction. – Our students participate in a variety of performance experiences, including quarterly recitals, student workshops, and competitions. We believe performing is an integral part of learning music and strive to offer both formal and informal opportunities in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.

History

Established in 1997.

Since meeting in Detroit and getting married in 1997, Mike and Elizabeth LaCroix have been working together in various capacities as music directors, teachers and performers. They maintain a combined studio of students in piano, guitar, music theory, and composition in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Chicago’s South side.

Business Owner

Mike has a BMus degree in Jazz Piano, and is a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago in Music Composition. He has been teaching private lessons in piano and guitar for over 20 years.

Elizabeth has a MMus degree in Collaborative Piano from Boston University, and is a certified Music Together Teacher.

Together, Mike & Elizabeth are parents of three children, and are comfortable teaching children and adults alike.

They are located in the heart of Hyde Park on the south side of Chicago, and conduct lessons in students’ homes and at their private studio.
