HORRIBLESERVICEANDOURFOODTOOKOVERANHOURTOCOMEOUT! I ordered a soup and my friend had 1 huarache. Also my water had a bunch of stuff in it and I told a server and he said it was some chile or something. Took him 10 minutes to bring me another cup of water. Not going back.

I used to go there every day when I lived close to that place. The food is delicious, service is very good, the place is clean. It is kind of pricy, but i think it is worth pay for it. I recommend it to all my friends.

I never leave reviews like this unless i really think it’s what the place deserves. The customer service here is horrible. The waitress was ignorant when we asked her what type of tacos they have. To top it off she elbowed my shoulder and never said sorry AND dropped a fork on my arm when picking up the plates and never said sorry for that either. Who does that?! When customer service is bad a restaurant doesn’t deserve nothing more than a star or even less!

Not that great. usual medium of road Mexican cuisine. .service was abrupt and hurried. The food was barely ok. We started with the shrimp ceviche tostadas, diced shrimp mixed with red onions and cilantro on a stale tostada, lacked flavor .I ordered arrechera something toped with cheese .I asked for it rare but as expected it was overcooked. It came with the usual rice and beans combination. Just ok. My wife ordered a chicken and grilled steak combination. .severely over cooked. The chicken was dry and chewy. .the steak was beyond shoe leather. .she barely ate it. never once did the server ask how our food was! Going forward maybe this experience will make us demand for better service and food.

Homemade corn tortillas. Portions are okay. Shrimp soup is good but wish the shrimps were devined. Made the soup a bit«grainy» when eating the shrimp. The fish was seasoned well. During rush hour, long wait. The steak tacos are a bit dry but good. Complimentary salsa is great and warm when served.

I love it here. It’s my favorite mexican resturant from the south side of Chicago. There dinner plates are delicious. And service is great.

I was surprised when I went to write a review because I thought this place would have more stars! If there were more reviews it would have more stars I’m sure because this place is amazing! We have only been there for breakfast but the dinner menu looks delicious, too. Not your run-of-the-mill Mexican food. Lots of interesting combinations. Their tortillas are homemade and delicious, and their salsa is served piping hot. They also have fresh juices and coffee with a slight cinnamon flavor. The breakfast prices are great. This time we didn’t have to wait for our check, which we like, but usually they do try to give you your time to relax so they don’t hurry with the check(as with many Mexican restaurants).

Expensive and flavorless sums up this restaurant. Four tortas and a taco diner and four cans of pop was 50 bucks.

I don’t really understand the hype about this place. Personally I’ve been there 3 times and there is nothing that stands out in my mind. The 1st time I got some shrimp as I am a huge fan of them, not worth the money spent. 2nd time was with my husband and he ordered chilaquiles I got a steak burrito. Again not really impressed as the meat was over seasoned and the beans were from a can. I’m sorry but being Mexican I expect beans from scratch. I decided to give it one more try and ordered a dish called mar y Tierra and once again i was disappointed. It was a small portion for the 15 $ I was paying and the fish was bland. Overall not happy with the taste. The service was ok but nothing to brag about.

One thing I like you don’t see much at Mexican restaurants is that they have homemade tortillas. I wasn’t impressed with the steak they serve on there tacos burritos etc. But when I complained about it they where more and willing to exchange the steak for some other meat. I then order the pork el pastor and was it delicious! I like to go back try another dish. Another thing I really enjoyed was was there margarita’s they know how to make one and it isn’t watered down it made just right!

Food was better and their plates were pretty well served but now they have gone cheap on portion sizes oh and a can of coke cost 1.99??? Get out of here! Sad to see this place overcharge on coke and skin on the portion sizes

I was there for lunch, they a subwoofer hanging from the ceiling that pounds so loud. My daughter ordered asada tacos and got boiled ground beef tacos. I ordered flautas the tortilla was chewy instead of crispy just bad food. I would recommend going only if it’s the last mexican restaurant in the area.

My husband loves this place so he brought me here & now I love it. It’s one of the few Mexican restaurants with real hand-made tortillas. All their food & tortillas taste like real Mexican authentic food unlike other places. They also have liquiados(shakes) and different juices like carrot, beets, orange juice and the traditional drink horchata. I truly feel like I’m eating at a Mexican restaurant in Mexico when I come here because the food is authentic. Service is great too. Must try.

This is NOT the typical“taqueria” with grease food and salty menu’s. …This is a great place to have a good healthy and tasty meal.

Very delicious, found out about this from word of mouth. Even better, they had hand-made tortillas. Very great definitely will be visiting again. My only constructive criticism is that the booths are too close to each other, so the people behind me moved a lot and therefore moved me, that was very annoying.

This is a small neighborhood hold out that is consistently busy. In fact, I thought that that food at this location was much better than their location on Roosevelt Rd. Service was like a well oiled machine. I really enjoyed their«caldos». This past Sunday, I tried the Caldo de Pescado, and it was terrific. Beautiful pieces of what I thought was cod(the waiter told me it was catfish… but I think he was incorrect… way too flaky and lacked that«muddy» flavor that even farmed catfish has.) In any event, I will drive from the north side to eat here again.
