L&L Academy and Preschool Lakeview

This review is for Lakeview West (Belmont & Racine).
Our daughter started at L&L when she was 8 weeks old and is now 8 months and thriving. We feel so comfortable leaving our little girl in the very capable hands of her teachers Miss Dana and Miss Evie along with all the assistant teachers. The director Corey has fostered a sense of community at the school with family oriented events and the creation of a parents group. As a first time mom the support and expertise that Corey and her teachers provide is invaluable. Each week we receive a progress report and photos of our child throughout the week which is so special. I have also come in to nurse my child on occasion and have been able to see first hand how well the teachers interact with the babies. We are so happy with our decision to send our daughter to L&L and cannot say enough good things about this school. Highly recommend L&L to anyone looking for top-​notch care for their little one.

Our child has learned quite a bit here (not just playtime, they do educate well) and has always been safe and very happy. But have to take away a star for the too-​frequent teacher turnover and the situation mentioned in the ‘non-​recommended’ review — which really happened and was very unfortunate.

Our 3yr old daughter has been attending L&L for over a year. During this time she has been cared for by several teachers: Amanda, Sarah and Krista. All have been exceptionally caring, devoted and professional. Our daughter loves going to school and has been growing both academically and socially. The kids go to the playgrounds a lot as well as eat organic meals and enjoy a very clean and safe facility in the winter. The school is very well managed and actually cheaper than many alternatives.

Caring teachers gently guide the children’s development here. Our grandson has been very happy here and I feel that the two teachers he has had – Miss Amanda and Miss Sarah – really understand his personality, character and learning style. There is structure here coupled with free play and in summer, many trips to playgrounds. The facility is new, clean and bright and there is good communication between families and staff.

We love L& L Academy and Preschool’s Lakeview location! The school opened in March 2013. It’s located very close to the brown/​red/​purple line Belmont el stop. The school is very clean (lots of hand washing in the routine and the staff is aways cleaning up)! They serve organic food and the children brush their teeth after meals. There is baby yoga before naptime. Best of all this is an education-​focused school. My two and a half year olds both know their colors, shapes, letters, etc. I credit this the school’s diligence and fun teaching style. The teachers also work on manners and potty training. I’ve never had any concerns about the school or staff. In fact, you can tell that the staff truly cares about each and every child. They encourage friendships. My children tend to greet them with hugs which are welcomed! There is always a good combination of free play and guided activities. I cannot say enough good things about this school and the people who work for it. They are my chidren’s second family!
