History

Established in 2008.

Kai-​Duc Luong created music videos for record labels starting in 2006 (EMI and Recordmakers) as an engineer before venturing full-​time into the field of filmmaking and videography in 2008. He made a feature-​length documentary that was selected at international film festivals in 2008 and 2009 & nominated for a Grand Jury Award, and created many art videos for museums, foundations and gallery spaces in Paris, New York, Chicago. He also created short films showcased at film festivals.

Kai-​Duc Luong’s KDL Productions was born soon after to meet the needs of a growing clientele in the event, corporate and commercial realms.

Since then, KDL Productions has been the recipient of numerous professional awards in the videography category. It is based in Chicago, IL, and services clients across the US and in the world.

Customers include private clients, small business owners, foundations, institutions, magazines, corporations.

Business Owner

Award-​winning filmmaker /​videographer Kai-​Duc LUONG was born in Cambodia, and lived in Paris, France, before coming to the US /​Chicago in 1997.

Kai is an independent producer /​director /​video-​artist /​writer /​cinematographer /​editor working on his personal projects, as well as the owner of his full-​service video production company KDL Productions.

Before pursuing his full-​time career as a video business owner, Kai was a trained engineer holding a Masters in EE. He was also accepted for an MFA in filmmaking at NYU Tisch.

His works have been showcased internationally at Art exhibitions, Film Festivals, online and TV broadcast channels.

He is the recipient of multiple awards and honors in the professional photographer/​videographer arena, as well as video artist /​filmmaking arena.

KDL Productions has created dozens of works for many happy customers.
