John began his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases for over six (6) years. In that time, John prosecuted all types of felonies and misdemeanors in bench trials as well as numerous jury trials. As a prosecutor, John became well-​versed in all areas of criminal law and became a seasoned litigator. After leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, John was a founding partner at McNamara & Austin, P.C. For over a decade, he has been handling criminal defense matters. All of the experience he gained as a prosecutor is now applied in defending his clients. John has gained a reputation as an aggressive advocate for his clients, who does not hesitate to take matters to trial rather than relying solely on the plea bargain.
