I can’t rave enough about this place! Not only are the stylists friendly, but the décor and feel of the place makes you happy! Vivian was my stylist, and she did a tremendous job. She made me feel comfortable, explained each step in the process, and was super chatty! I’ve gone to places that made me feel like they wanted me in and out of their chair as quickly as possible, but Vivian made it an enjoyable experience. I cannot wait to get my hair cut again!

I went to Jennifer to fix a bad cut I had gotten at another salon. She did a tremendous job, explaining why the cut I had gotten was not right for my hair type (she was spot on, as I had been struggling with this other place’s cut for months by adding a ton of product to calm down the areas that were cut too short.)
In short, I am a fan and will be booking with her again.

I just moved into the city from the burbs and needed a new stylist, Unilocal led me to Jennifer’s. I have been to many, many, many stylists in my lifetime, but Jennifer is one of the most honest and skilled I have met. She talked through what I wanted, made recommendations to ensure I left happy, and boy did I. She gave me instructions on how to take care of my new blonde highlights and even showed me curling iron techniques. Rarely will a stylist take the time to train you so you can do it yourself. You can tell that she loves what she does and appreciates her customers. I’ve never received so many compliments on my hair. I’m sold! Jennifer is my gal and there is no doubt I will be back again.

One word. AMAZING. I came to Jennifer shell shocked with the worst hair I have ever had. Let’s just say my new color/​highlights was mud with a touch of brassiness at the top. OMG! I had to go out like this? Jennifer to the rescue. She was going in blind as she did not know what chemical mess was on my hair but did she produce. I love my hair again! You won’t be sorry as you can tell when you are in her chair, she’s not just in it for the cash, she is in to see you happy and feeling beautiful.

I spent some time looking for a hairdresser once I moved to Chicago and was very happy to find Vivian at Jennifer’s Hair Salon. She knows how to cut and treat Asian hair. I’ve gone to her for about five years and we did many different styles and colors. I’ve always walked out of the salon feeling great!

What a great place. I was looking for a new haircut place, and stumbled on this place. Great haircuts, very nice people, and well worth the money. Upscale place, but not at all pretentious. Élana was awesome!

A few days ago I called the salon to ask if they could do balayage, a lady called Elena picked up the phone and she said «yes, we can do that» .then i said i would like an appointment with whoever could do that.
I came the next day to the salon. the «stylist» (Elena) was 10 min late and didn’t even say anything about it. Okaayy.
I showed her a specific picture of what i wanted to be done with my hair (colorwise)
She briefly glanced at it and left to mix the dyes.
Long story short. this lady has no clue at what she’s doing. ZERO!!((((
After being in the chair for two hours and really rough hair wash and combing my poor hair. i looked like a disaster. with random brassy patches here and there, my greys were not covered at all .(i’ll try to upload the pictures)
I wasn’t happy with what it looked like but i’m not the one to throw fits or make a scene. i paid $ 250+ for the «service».as soon i got home and started inspecting my hair in the mirror I got so upset i started crying. i called the salon and explained the owner that I wasn’t happy with what happened to my hair and i needed it to be fixed by SOMEONE ELSE. She said no one else was available and Elena will be the one fixing it (i should have just asked for my money back) .i went back and showed her the picture again and explained in detail what i was looking for.2 hours later i left the salon looking like a blind person did my hair, i still cannot get over it (will be coloring it over myself today) (((. but I figured i just better stay away from that place (going back to fix something they messed up only makes it worse) and warn anyone else who’s considering this place for a salon quality hair coloring service –STAY AWAY, especially from Elena! She shouldn’t be allowed to touch anyone’s hair Ever!
Th overall service and handling the situation was very very poor. the owner didn’t care one bit. Very disappointed ((

It’s pretty much every woman’s dream to find a great hair salon within walking distance of home or work. A recent job change has made this dream come true for me. I am in love with the fact that I can get a haircut over lunch! Chloe has already done wonders for my hair. She is incredibly knowledgable, skilled, and passionate. The salon is refreshingly friendly and unpretentious. Thrilled with this discovery!

I’ve been going to Jen’s Hair Studio since I moved to Chicago 2 years ago and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ve had my hair cut by Chelsea, Rose, and Jen, all of whom are fantastic. Despite my own funky hair growth patterns (I should mention I’m a 28 year old guy), I always walked out with a great, stylish hair cut. Obviously it is a bit more expensive than your super cuts chain barber shop, but you’re paying for quality. Worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment you won’t regret it.

I’ve been coming to see Rose at this salon location ever since I moved to Chicago years ago. She is only here twice a week, but she always does an absolutely phenomenal job with cut, color and styling!
I am Korean with long, thick, dark black hair, but not the stick straight type that is stereotypically seen… Mine is curly, frizzy and there is A LOT of it. Of course it doesn’t help that I have bleached/​dyed/​highlighted it every couple months. When I first walked in, I was a complete disheveled mess with a grown out cut, multiple coats of dye and faded bleached ends…
Rose rescued me and I’ve been going back to her ever since! She understood my next color project and gave me he most fantastic cut… And the best part is that when it grows out, there is no awkward phase, it grows longer seamlessly until I’m ready for my next trim.
The prices are a bit on the higher side, but if you are looking for professional stylists who will give you an amazing look, I wouldn’t dare go anywhere else!

I LOVE this place!
I got here only because I was tracking Vivian down from my previous salon — and it was worth it. I’ve gotten cuts from both Vivian and Jennifer and they both are amazing. I never have to worry about a cut not turning out good — they always suggest a look and it turns out to be great. There’s not a lot of places i’ve been to where I don’t need to worry about the final look.
I’ve referred 4 – 5 people here and they’ve been super happy too — I always leave the place looking and feeling like a million bucks! :)
Definitely worth my money.

I went in for a last minute manicure on Friday after work. I was able to choose between about 20 colors, which felt like not enough. The colors are also stashed in the pedicure corner, so I had to reach over the pedicurist and her client in order to get my color.
Vivian was my manicurist. She was upselling me at every opportunity and gave a weak hand massage. She never cleaned up the edge of my nails and while my nails were drying, she went home for the weekend. Without washing a dish or scrubbing anything, by Friday night, my nails were chipped. Monday morning before work I took the nail polish off.
I will not be returning and I feel like I wasted my money.

Who goes to the same place for a haircut for 10+ years… I do!
Think about it, how many of us can say that we have used the same provider, for anything, for over 10 years. I have had at least 4 cable companies, several banks, lived in different places, and even found a new spouse, but Jennifer has been the one constant. That says something.
I have used the salon for haircuts and an occasional «sports pedicure» and have been happy with both. I often receive compliments on my haircut and have personally sent my friends there as well.
They are on the high side on pricing, but come on, your hair is the only accessory that you wear every day, so maybe it is just worth it to spend a bit more.

I was incredibly pleased with the waxing service I received. I selected this salon, admittedly, at random because it was well-​rated and near my office downtown. It did not disappoint!
Vivian was the best under-​arm waxer I’ve encountered, and she really knew how to minimize any pain I felt during the waxing. She was very friendly and my appointment started on time, both of which I really appreciated. I’m not a waxing enthusiast (I only had it done for my wedding dress, which was strapless), but I’m seriously considering going back because I liked the service and the results so much.
My only complaint is that since the salon entrance is not street facing you have to dial/​buzz in, and that’s not much of a complaint at all.

I went to this hair salon on a whim because i life/​work near the area. i was in dire need of a trim/​layers/​bang fix-​up. i booked a last minute (day of!) appointment with donna. it was the best decision i made! not only do i LOVE my hair, she was friendly and held a comfortable conversation. i felt like i knew her for years! she ended up cutting my hair exactly how i wanted. i’ll be going there monthly now, for sure.
one thing to keep in mind, though — make sure that if you pay with a credit/​debit card, that you bring cash for tip. i didnt have cash, so i’ll be dropping by later this week to pay her the tip she deserves. i felt horrible, especially since i was so pleased with the service!

Had a bad experience here, but the owner called and made things right with me. That goes a long way!

I had a wonderful experience at Jennifer’s hair salon. I took my daughter to her salon for her nails and feet and my daughter really enjoyed herself. Very friendly staff and very confidently located near all the major train lines.

Jennifer and her staff always make one feel welcome and at home in a lavish environment. I have tried a massage in addition to the haircuts I’ve had done which was very relaxing. Vivian in particular is my favorite stylist and can work wonders with one’s hair even if you don’t really know what you want done. It’s worth the trip here if you work, shop, or dine in the area!

I walked into this salon last week when I was walking in the area (it was 50 degrees out… there is no excuse not to enjoy the weather!) The salon is on the small size — a good cozy size. I was seated right away and was given a free consultation. I told the stylist what I was looking for and right away she «got it». After a reasonable charge I was on my way. That’s when the compliments began.
