Jamie Lynn Designs

We hired Jamie Lynn Designs for our wedding invitations, programs, escort cards, and menu cards. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.
She executed the design exactly as we envisioned. Many people commented on the cheerful, bright design and how refreshing it was from the standard, ho-​hum, black and white that they’re used to seeing. We wanted the design to set the tone for the wedding (fun, not stuffy), and she definitely achieved that.
We loved everything and she was so easy to work with. She was on top of everything and let us know deadlines without being pushy, which was much appreciated.
The only reason I’m not giving five stars is that we had a couple of snafus with printing. One of our envelopes was missing a guest’s name in the initial printing. Jamie quickly had it reprinted (which I had to pick up) but the envelope used in the re-​printing was not the same quality or color as the other envelopes so it had to be reprinted again. This time Jamie delivered the envelope to my house because I didn’t have time to go to her house again. Then, when we received our menu cards, one was missing, which we didn’t notice until a couple days before the wedding. Although Jamie was out of town, she did respond immediately to apologize. Apparently she thought my menu card was an «extra,» so she had saved it as a sample for her portfolio. She couldn’t do anything about it until she was back in town, which was the day before the wedding. Again, we had to pick it up. Super not convenient the day before the wedding when we had a million things going on. My mom, who lives near Jamie, was able to save the day (thanks, Mommy!) and pick it up, but I felt like this could have been handled more smoothly since it was her error and not ours.
I highly recommend Jamie. My only advice is to check everything first so you don’t run into issues during crunch time.

I contacted Jamie when I needed business cards made. Jamie listened to what I wanted and came up with several original and creative designs for me to choose from for my logo. The final product was amazing! The materials she used for the cards were high quality — I’ve received many compliments on both the logo and on the quality of the business cards.

Here is a list of tasks that are easier to complete than planning a wedding:
1. Performing _​_​_​_​_​_​_​surgery. Any type of surgery is fine, as they are all easier to accomplish than coordinating far-​flung families in one location.
2. Training cats to scoop their own litter boxes.
3. Watching an entire post 2001 Ice Cube movie without turning away.
4. Getting into Studio Paris without intent to purchase bottle service or have your name on the doorman’s list.
5. A World Series win for the Cubs. (Okay that might be SLIGHTLY more difficult than planning a wedding. But only because there’s a goat and a curse involved and I’ve yet to have that specific problem during my planning process.)
Jamie Arlin, designer and creator of all things paper and beyond extraordinaire, made selecting our wedding stationery a thousand leagues easier than completing any of the above listed, and surprisingly made it a fun process.
The fiancé and I paid Jamie a few visits to her home office in Ravenswood to nail down style, color and a loose theme of our wedding, and then Jamie went to town. Even through color palette changes and theme overhauls, Jamie always made beautiful edits that polished off her fantastic designs. She is so professional, so sweet, and so easy to work with. I never had to fool around with hunting her down or waiting on my designs and edits. Girlfran over here doesn’t have time for that business!
Jamie is a total pro. In the end she designed our save-​the-​dates, invitation suite, and ceremony programs. Besides having one-​of-​a-​kind invitations (Michael’s boxed sets? Ew, no), Jamie’s pricing is comparable to the online stationery stores. She does fabulous, affordable work and I can’t recommend her enough. Out of the 150 RSVP cards we have received, more than half have comments about how cool or pretty our invitations are. You know you have a winner when boys take the time to comment.
Why buy cheapo invitations that everyone has seen, when you can have something unique and fabulous?

Jamie was such an absolute pleasure to work with. First of all, her designs and ideas are so creative and fun. She was able to incorporate all of our ideas and preferences into the design and layout of the invitation, while making unique suggestions and fine tuning it so that the final creation was more than we could have imagined! The materials she used were of good quality, and she did a great job working within our budget. I also appreciated that most of our correspondence was through email since this was the easiest for my busy schedule. It would have been hard to connect by phone every time, but when we needed to chat, she was always readily available by phone as well.
We received so many compliments on the uniqueness of our invitations, and so I have already recommended her to family and friends for any special event that requires a creative touch!

Jamie does an amazing job with her invitations. We hired her to design all of our wedding invitations, and other wedding related notices. She did a fantastic job for us, and we could not be happier.
We constantly got great feedback from people over our save the dates, and once the invitations went out all we heard were how people really loved them.
I would use Jamie again in a heart-​beat, and if you are looking for someone to design your invitations for any event, I would tell you to go to her without a second thought.

I met Jamie through some mutual friends and shortly after became engaged. I was very excited to work with Jamie on the design/​printing/​assembly of our invitations. Before hiring Jamie my mother, fiancée and I had spent hours looking through books and books of designs and stationary in paper stores and never found quite what we were looking for.
Jamie came and met with my mother and I to discuss preliminary design ideas and really took the time to get to know us and what we were looking for. She took our design ideas into consideration and gave us a few options to choose from shortly after the first meeting. After a few tweaks and adjustments the invitations were perfect and she was able to carry the design over into the RSVP card, the reception card and the accommodations card. Additionally Jamie did a welcome card for our guests staying in the hotel and our thank you cards for the wedding. I was very impressed with how well Jamie took our ideas and some of her own to make a really unique and interesting design that carries over into all of the pieces.
In addition to the design Jamie oversaw the printing process and assembled the invitation suites for us, it was really one-​stop shopping! I received all the invitations put together, stuffed, stamped and sealed with the extras in an additional box. Talk about saving myself some time!
Although I haven’t heard what my guests’ thoughts are yet (the invitations are going out next week) I’m very excited to share with them our one of a kind, personal wedding invitations!
