I had an amazing time at Jackies Bridal. Jackie was able to help me find my perfect dress. She listened to what I wanted and found a dress that I feel in love it. As a customer, her service was great and she kept working with me on finding a dress. I recommend Jackie’s Bridal to anyone who is looking for a wedding dress.

Terribl customer service. Completely rude about my dress preferences and was negative about my wedding date and venue choice. She talked poorly to me about customers before me and also surrounding bridal shops– this does not make us bond, it makes me trust you even less. She also was rude when I told her what I was looking for and implied that I would never find it and needed to be less picky. Well guess what? I found it– and gave another shop my business.

I would not recommend this bridal shop. Zero customer service, they don’t care about their customers. Moreover, owner is extremely mean and rude. Make sure you read and double check you receipt before they cheat on you. Will not come back or refer my friends there

ZERO STARS!!! I purchased the first dress i tried on from here. When it finally arrived i went for my first fitting. The whole dress was dirty on the bottom and they said its because they just cleaned their carpets. Really? So your dragging my $ 3000 dress through your whole store? Annoyed i went home. When i came back for my second fitting the dress was still dirty and they wanted $ 300 for alterations. I decided to go to my tailor who was sewing my bridesmaid dresses and she said she will charge me $ 100. When i got to her she zipped me up and noticed a big hole around the zipper! The reason i didn’t notice this hole the previous times is because they would also zip me up. I am so upset i paid $ 3000 for this dress and A. it was dirty and B. ripped! I would not recommend this place for anyone!!! Also, the veils are expensive i paid $ 700 for two one short one and one long one. For veils i would go to davids bridal. Some dress advice– if your dress will have sequin/​rhinestones on the top of your dress dont get a veil with rhinestones outlining your veil because for me my veil kept getting stuck on my dress.- GOOD LUCK!
POINT OF MY STORY DO NOT COME HERE!

The one regret I have about my wedding day is getting my dress from Jackie’s Bridal. The in house alterations were terrible and my dress did not fit on my big day. Plus, the «seamstress» (also the owner) was completely rude. I should had known better when she didn’t measure me for any of the fittings. Zero stars!

SUMMARY: I think that Jackie and her mother have forgotten that they are not just selling wedding/​prom/​special event dresses. They are selling a dress that will serve as the focus for a significant moment in the owner’s life. They are selling a memory that the owner will take with her for all of her life. They are forgetting that they can contribute to that memory by being a positive highlight or a stressful disappointment. When buying my dress, I envisioned having a wonderful experience where I would take pictures, have a heartfelt memory, and starting a relationship with a salon that would last generations. I did not expect to be crying, alone, in a car, on my birthday after being yelled at for my dress not being ready on time. If you are looking to have an experience where you build memories– do not shop here. If you are looking to be treated like you are at McDonald’s and still spend thousands of dollars– then shop at your own risk. I plan on notifying the designer house Maggie Sottero about my experience and the type of salon they have identified as being an authorized retailer.
DETAILS: After reviewing the online reviews I was hesitant, but I followed the recommendation of my MOH. In calling to schedule my 1^st appointment to pick a dress, whomever answered the phone was very curt and brief: name, what do you want, date, ok, hangs up. I called back because I wanted to confirm if I could bring 5 guests w/​me, because other salons had stated they needed approval for parties more than 4. Again the response was short: bring whomever you want just not your whole family, hangs up. I was nervous but I moved forward.
At the salon I met with Julia, who is a delight. She helped my try on a dress I never would have and I found an amazing Maggie Sottero gown. I did not have my mother with me and she understood how personal of an experience this was for me and why I wanted to share it with my mom. I came back with my mother and purchased the gown.
After the dress arrived I was told to schedule an appointment one month prior to the date of the wedding. I did so and explained I was nervous due to having a destination wedding, and I explained how important it was to have the dress on time. The assured me that the dress would be ready one week after the first fitting. I came in for my first fitting, measurements were taken and I scheduled a time to pick up the dress in 2 weeks. They said I would come in, try on the dress and then if I approved I would leave. On that day, I took off of work, spent over 3 hours driving to pick up my mother and bring her to the salon for the final reveal. When I arrived, the dress still had pins in it and the stitching was still taken out. They made up a lie and said: this is only your 2^nd fitting and the dress will be ready in 1 week. I did not allow this to upset me because I still had time before my plane would leave. They offered to have the dress done in a few hours and I told them I did not want my wedding dress to be rushed, I wanted them to take their time and to do it right. We scheduled a time for me to return in a week (which is 5 days before my flight). I rescheduled my b-​day plans and instead drove to the salon to pick up my dress, this time I had to do so without my mother.
I came to the salon on my b-​day and they said: did you not get my message on Saturday (this was Monday) we said the dress would not be ready until after 5PM. I was so upset. I was told:
* It was my fault for coming because they left a message.
* They were busy on Sat. because they had a wedding to go to and if they would have stayed to finish the dress they would have been late to the wedding they planed to attend.
* The reason you are so upset is because you can’t handle the stress of being a bride and aren’t ready.
* I am not going to bother talking to you when I could be sewing your dress
* You can choose to wait for your dress or you can leave.
A plus, Jackie did offer to complete the alterations and drop the dress off at my house. This couldn’t work because my fiancé would see the dress and if I needed more alterations or if it was not right I would have to go back to the salon again.
After having no choice but to wait my dress was ready about an hour and half later. I checked the sewing and it was half-​hazard and not worth over $ 300. I was disappointed and when I pointed out that the dress was not falling well on my hips, the mother/​seamstress told me that I needed to be better at watching what I eat. (I’m a 4)
When I went to leave with my dress, Jackie pulled me aside to prove that she called. I tried to explain to her there still had not even been 1 business days’ notice of a reschedule and she had already had an additional week to complete the alterations. Her mother/​seamstress interrupted our conversation, and told me: why are you talking so much? You talk so much! In a couple years from now you will look back and wonder why you are talking. With that, I walked out.

I think they are really good, I went to so many bridal dress places, at the end I find out the one I like from here, it’s amazing.

Bad experience here, they promised me that the dress would be correctly fitted when they were done but at my appointment she showed «all they could do» and it didn’t love up to the promise that she would fix it. I see that there are mixed reviews and when you’re trying stuff on they are very nice, but after they are simply trying to get you out of the store

Beautiful sequence dresses and amazing service. Jackie and her mom stayed past closing and were very patient and helpful. My sister, the bride, is very particular and there were multiple dresses there that she loved. She’s going to say YES to the dress!

I just recently purchased my Bridal dress from them and once I walked in, I was greeted by Jackie and her mother. I had been searching for a dress for 6 months and had been to about 12 stores across the Chicagoland and Indiana area. I hadn’t made a decision yet because I felt that every other store had additional expenses that consisted of $ 500-​$ 700 for alterations and $ 500-​$ 1000 veils with Swarovski crystals. Also other stores charged additional for bustling of the dress, I feel the bustle should be included in the alteration price. So when I walked in to Jackie’s Bridal I was greeted with a warm smile, and there was a difference in their stock of dresses. Jackie has Maggie Sottero and Midgley which is a brand I am in love with! The mother and daughter duo were so knowledgable and informative of wedding couture lines and brands, also they knew the industry like the back of their hands. Plus they have been in business for over 17 years, so I knew they are talented at what they do! Overall, I am in love with the store, their warm spirits, and their talented craftsmanship! Altogether my alterations are $ 350 which included taking in the free to up to 2 sizes and the bustling. Plus they are giving me 50% off any veil I like, and they have veils that are $ 200 and under, which is very reasonable! Jackie’s mom is the seamstress and I found ease in trying on dresses and she was right there glancing over the areas of my body that she would probably take in. Overall I love this bridal store and I think people should def check them out!

We were not impressed and pretty offended by the owner of this shop. She was rude and insisted we needed an appointment to try on dresses even though there was not anyone in the shop at all. Having an appointment only policy is understandable, however you don’t have to be rude. (We drove 2 hours for an appointment at Eva’s Bridal. My sister didn’t find a dress she was sold on, so we were looking in the neighborhood since we were there.) Again she was very rude. She acted like our business didn’t matter to her! Which I guess it didn’t. We left and went down the street to Laurel Bridal, who was very accommodating and kind. Hope this helps!

I visited Jackie’s Bridal while shopping for my wedding dress, and from my very first appointment I had a great experience. Jackie was very helpful as I tried on gowns, and she even provided tissues when I found the one!
I was kept informed on the status of my dress, and I even ended up choosing bridesmaid dresses from Jackie’s.
The staff was always courteous to me and my maids, and I truly enjoyed working with Jackie.

Went there without an appointment, just to look at headpieces and veils. Had a wonderful experience. They had a much better selection than other bridal shops I’ve been to. I bought my headdpiece and veil that day.

I had a wonderful experience at Jackie’s. The mother (owner) and her daughter were very friendly, understood my taste and helped me find my perfect dress. I walked into Jackie’s simply due to location (I was checking out another bridal store nearby which I didn’t like). Both the mom and daughter were very helpful and eager to help without any appointments. I was quite surprised that the store I walked into by pure accident was where I found my perfect dress.

After having a wonderful experience at Eva’s Bridal & trying on some gorgeous dresses, I decided to pop into Jackie’s Bridal for some more comparison of all different kinds of dresses. I was very nice and friendly upon arrival, only to get a very bad, negative, non pleasant vibe from the old lady with an accent who greeted us and told me right away that I needed an appointment… Even though there was NOONE in the store. I asked since I was there if I could at least walk around or check out some styles for myself and she was very quick to cut me off and respond saying ALL of the dresses were in the back, but walked over a few steps near the fitting room which had two dresses in it. They were okay, not exactly what I was looking for… I asked her the price range of both dresses. She told me $ 2000 to $ 3300 & laughed in my face when I told her I was planning on keeping my budget on the dress in the $ 1000 price range. Ummm okay woman. So she takes out a book and I start to flip through it. She asks me if I checked online or looked at their website. I responded saying I’d rather come in person and check styles out by trying them on to get a better idea of what it is that I really want… She tells me «How can you go dress shopping from store to store if you don’t even look at the pictures online or know what you want??» I’m like… I know what I want and I know what I like, I have a picture… In my head, i don’t NEED to look online… She got very pushy and weird (very strange «customer service approach» if you ask me) and asked why I didn’t want an Ivory colored dress and why I wanted a white dress… WTF I’m sorry that I want to wear a pure white princess dress on my wedding day… At this point, her unpleasant vibe and unnecessary attitude were enough for me to stop flipping through the book, slide it back her way, & tell her how I feel. I looked up and said «You know what, forget it. I don’t think I will be coming back here at all.» Before she got to say anything else out of her rude mouth, I looked at her and added «Oh, and you’re not a very nice person either.» & walked out the door! It was awesome to completely treat her, considering she seems to have accumulated quite the number of bad reviews over time. She is obviously a miserable person and therefore feels the need to be nasty to others. Would never give this place my business even if I had $ 10,000 to spend on my dress! 0 stars.

I gave it an honest shot. I was trying to be open to the horrible reviews on several bridal salons. This one proved to be true.
Walked in and basically, I am assuming it was Jackie, came to the front. Handed me two books to look through and tell her which ones I liked. Then another woman (maybe her daughter???) came to the front. No introduction, just asked if I had time to look through the book. I showed her the one that I liked.
Oh forgot to mention that Jackie told me that the dress that I liked was the most popular and they had two dresses that were the same. One was $ 800 and one $ 1200…so when the other woman came up, I told her that I wanted to try on the dress. I asked about the two price differences. She said they werent the same but similar but they didnt have the $ 800 in the store???
Anyway, went to the back with the most popular dress, I guess. She literally hung the dress, undid the corset and told me to let her know when I had the dress on so she could tie me up. Now, call me crazy, but isnt their job to help you get into the dress? I mean this thing was much heavier than expected with layers, ruching, etc. Help would have been nice. I obviously had trouble doing the swoop and dive in alone… finally I got it on, but it was totally all over the place. I almost laughed at myself. She knocked on the door and asked if I was ready so she came in and tied me up.
Honestly, I liked the dress, loved the dress. It was heavier than the previous one, but felt like a little better quality for not much more BUT the customer service here was the reason I didnt buy from here. I didnt really understand the cold nature of this store. I had been to several bridal stores in the past two days… this was by far the most blah.
I guess if you have a dress in mind that they carry and dont care about a smile or help, this is the place for you.
I also found it funny that they didnt have me look at any of the physical dresses or suggest any for me to try on. I felt very unwelcomed.

Self-​Disclosure: I am not a girly girl, gets excited to try on dresses, Kardashian type of gal (despite my unditional love for Khloe Kardashian), so I will admit I was less than thrilled to be going in to a notoriously terrible store to try on a bridesmaid dress. With that being said, I am a pretty easy customer, if I do say so myself. Friendly to a fault perhaps but straight forward, decisive, and informed. The dress was already selected (while it wasn’t my favorite dress ever, it was pretty nice, despite the larger than life flower attached that costs $ 40 to remove, for some reason.), so I figured the experience would be pretty easy. Wrongers. I was encouraged and near forced to purchase a dress that was 2 – 3 sizes bigger than my size. This would be understood if I had a certain area a bit (or lot) larger than another area and in turn would require alterations. I get how it works. However, I do not, and to my defense (the only rational thing one of the workers had said), even the sales person said something similar re: similar proportions. Now that that’s out there, I had to purchase a dress that would inevitably need alterations in mild paranoia that I would not fit into the dress I would of course never wear again. I picked up the dress after it had been in the store (I believe a week, I am unsure exactly how long, to be honest, as I was NEVER called by the store as I was promised I would be) and was lectured about how «I may have to pay extra for alterations now since I waited so long to pick up the dress.» The wedding was in 6 weeks! Do they not realize that there are countless places in Chicagoland that do alterations within 24 hours (including where I had my wedding dress altered!) for a far less expensive rate? I understand ‘we’re all trying to make it in this crazy world,’ but please. Like I was even remotely considering giving my business to them. The tailor I ended up using laughed about this place (tailor not even closely located to Jackie’s Bridal) saying he had had to do many alterations before due to dresses being ‘way too big.’ I had to have major alterations done on every area… waist, length, you name it. The thing that really bothered me that I’ve been saving for last is that they commented on others in the wedding party’s bodies to me, very inappropriately. Who does that? While I was not directly insulted re: my body, I was frankly very insulted and shocked that someone would even comment on people that perhaps could have been my life-​long best friends (while they are not, how the hell does she know that?), relatives, etc. I responded by just saying positive things about these girls re: their beauty, etc. to show her how people are suppose to talk about others, at the very least their customers who will never return. So sad to see that bullies exist in every facet of life, including wedding dress stores where I’d respect more the opposite BS: fake smiles and tireless encouragement.

I had a wonderful experience at Jackie’s, so I must admit I’m quite surprised to read the posted reviews. My future sister-​in-​law (the bride) were in the area looking at some of the other bridal shops, and we had some time to spare in between appointments, so we decided to give simply walking in a shot.
Jackie greeted us as soon as we entered. We explained that we didn’t have an appointment, but that didn’t seem to bother her. To be honest, she didn’t even give the slightest indication that it was any sort of problem at all. She pulled out two large books and allowed us to flip through them, marking the dresses we’d like to see. This was brilliant, as dresses look different on people as opposed to hanging on racks.
The selection of dresses was beautiful. She had every style that a bride could want. My future sister-​in-​law was interested in the mermaid/​trumpet styles, and there was a wide variety of them. All of them were gorgeous.
Jackie pulled all of the dresses for us, and even went so far as to remove one from a mannequin. I know that’s a hassle, but she did so gladly. Unlike our experience with other consultants, she was very patient, and HONEST. We appreciated it. She didn’t put any pressure on us whatsoever. Not to buy, not to hurry with trying on the dresses. She would admit when something didn’t look right, whereas other consultants would drop their jaws and say «oh, it’s beautiful!» Her feedback was excellent, and something we defintely took into consideration while viewing the dresses – which, by the way, were lovely. She was constantly giving suggestions on how to accessorize the dresses, and took our reception of each dress openly. By the time we were halfway through the fitting, it seemed as though she knew exactly the kind of dress we were looking for.
We ended up falling in love with the dress she’d pulled from the mannequin. And the price was amazing. We had been under the impression that the dress would sell for double of what the actual price was. A nice surprise.
We didn’t purchase the dress (yet), we’re taking some time before making the decision. But we did make an appointment to revisit Jackie’s to see the dress once more. It was our best experience out of six bridal boutiques. Jackie was kind, patient, and honest. She seemed more concerned with helping us find a dress, than making a sale. The selection of dresses was incredible and affordable at the same time. We have a feeling that we found the one! But even if for some reason we don’t end up purchasing a dress here, we had a wonderful experience. Thank you, Jackie.

UPDATE — The owner, Jackie, is pure trash. After being treated like dirt, and owing me a HUGE apology, she sent me this in response to my review:
«Thank you for ALL your great input. I was pleased to know you LOVED our gowns but would rather have purchased some where else because with an additude like yours it was a pleaseure to lose you.»
This low-​class creature clearly has not been properly educated on how to treat customers, run a business, OR use deodorant. Seems that many people shared a similar experience. Sorry, but when someone writes about being treated the way that these people treated me, you APOLOGIZE, not slam them. Jackie really needs to learn how to spell too. Nothing funnier than insulting someone and making multiple spelling errors. What a trashbag!

I went to Jackie’s Briadal after leaving Eva’s bridal, which if I ever see those people again, I’ll kill them! Rude as hell!!!
Anyway, Jackie and her mom were very sweet to me and even gave me half off on a veil and threw in my shoes for free!!!
Whoever said that they were rude are stupid. They have no patience, as I know that new brides are nervous and very rude, but Jackie was very sweet and they don’t rush you like the bitches, yeah I said it! at Eva’s Bridal.
