Irpino gets a perfect review from me. We found out that the dry wall behind our shower tiles was completely rotten and we needed everything replaced, and called Irpino for an estimate. They responded immediately after we asked for an estimate (we reached out to several companies in Chicago, and most didn’t get back to us for several days), and started the work next day. The workers were great: clean, polite and worked really hard. Dominic came out for the estimate and knew his stuff, and even offered suggestions that we hadn’t considered, including raising the shower head for my tall husband. He even suggested ways that we could save money during the process. The work ended up being amazing and we couldn’t recommend them more!

My husband and I just had Irpino complete a project we’ve been talking about for years. We’ve always wanted to turn the top floor of our town home into a separate bedroom rather than simply have it as a lofted space. Irpino completed the entire project in just three week’s time, despite some complicated tasks like moving an AC/​heat unit. Dominic, Jaime, and the rest of the team were professional, efficient, and attentive to any and all of our questions and concerns. We are so happy with the finished result and would recommend Irpino to anyone looking for a construction team.

Needed to renovate the bonus room in my condo, so I called several contractors for quotes. Dominic was timely not only with setting an appointment, but he had the estimate prepared for me several hours later while the other contractors took up to a week to send me even a quote. Irpino Construction came in at the best price and were able to schedule the work to start within a day of me accepting their bid as well. The construction crew got the work done under the time estimated and everything was done exactly how I wanted. I would recommend Irpino Construction to anyone needing remodeling work and they will be my first call for jobs in the future.

Dominic and his crew are just fantastic. Honest and friendly with straightforward pricing. Excellent craftsmanship with no cutting corners. We did a third floor renovation including bathroom, and everything was done as promised and on schedule. Dominic was excellent at quickly addressing any issues we had.
There are a lot of dishonest contractors out there (I know from experience). Do yourself a favor and call Irpino.

Wow — Where do we begin?
We live in Lincoln Park and wanted to convert our 4^th floor attic into a full laundry room with better storage and redo our first floor old laundry room into a new bathroom with shower.
Not easy as you think — right? but lets cut to the chase and talk about — Quality, Service, Support and Price. IRPINO CONSTRUCTION along with Dominick did an unbelievable job. First the plans that Dom drew up on were right on. He took the time to plan the project and gave us a vendor list that we could use if we wanted to and get his GC pricing as this was not an inexpensive project. We did a walked thru before we started to map out certain milestones on what we needed and when. SERVICE and SUPORT and DIRECTION A+
His crew was professional and always, always cleaned up after each day. Jamie was the lead manager and made sure we understood everything that his guys were doing — from drywall, electrician, plumber, painter, flooring, tile and marble ect.
Dom would follow up every week with a call or drop in to check on the project and guys. I truly believe he treats his crew is like its a big Italian family. Kind, considerate, and firm (stay on track) The products /​materials were all high quality. Let me stress that this was not cheap and because of Dom the project was completed on time and within budget. You get what you pay for — We got a high end professional GC that made our tonwnhome even better looking along with almost zero head aches. Construction is always going to be disruptive but Dom and company made it worthwhile) We are planning 2 more projects and will not even get 2x quotes as we trust Dom and are looking forward to Phase 2 — redo entire 2^nd floor.

Irpino Construction just completed a full renovation of my bathroom. The final product is absolutely beautiful. After asking friends and coworkers for referrals in the city I had no luck. I researched via Unilocal and came across Irpino Construction. Dominic and his team were great to work with. This is the first renovation I’ve done at my home so I needed extra hand holding. Dominic and his has his team were able to guide me every step of the way.
The main concern I had with my bathroom was very little hot water pressure. Irpino Construction went the extra mile in adding even more new piping to my shower which really improved the water pressure.
I’m really glad I found Irpino Construction and won’t go with anyone else on future projects!

I was moving into a new condo and looking to do some work before moving in. Dominic helped walk me through which changes would make the most aesthetic differences and help increase my home’s sales and rental value. Just as importantly, he helped guide me in which changes to avoid as a poor bang for my buck or run the risk of violating certain construction rules in my building (I live in a high rise).
His team was very professional and careful to make sure that the work site was well cleaned up every day, including keeping the common building areas clear per my building’s construction rules.
I have had miserable experiences with several contractors in the past that have defrauded me, been incredibly difficult to contact, and have performed poor quality work. Dominic is none of those things and I plan to hire Dominic and his team for all my future projects in Chicago.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone no matter the scope of the project.

We hired Irpino Construction after having extreme water damage to our condo in the winter. 2/​3rds of our condo was down to studs. We lost all walls through the living room, master bedroom, hall, and bathrooms, needed hardwood floors redone, electrical work and on and on. At the same time, we decided to do a complete remodel of our 2 bathrooms. We interviewed 5 companies and Irpino stood out to us as the best fit and we were right! Dominic and his crew were amazing.
We have a unique situation in that this is our second home so we needed someone who could completely manage the project, make decisions and communicate effectively. Dominic did all of this and more. He was very attentive and organized so we could make decisions quickly. He was honest in all recommendations for the remodel and was always responsive to all questions. And, when I say responsive, I mean responsive! He would either answer our calls or return them within a very short time. It was incredible. Dominic also has an extensive network of subcontractors and high end suppliers who were equally as good and cost competitive.
The final product is a beautiful new home. We are really looking forward to more projects with Irpino Construction because it was such a great experience.

Wow. I needed some concrete and masonry work. I called their office and a receptionist answered (great isn’t it?). I asked about the work we needed and received Dominic’s email (owner). I emailed him, and he replied quickly (great isn’t it?) He referred someone to me. That company came, was the most prepared out of anyone, and w’ell be hiring them. I emailed to thank Dominic for the referral, and he replied again! Have you seen irpino’s website? Beautiful website and design of their work. I hope I can hire them in the future.

They have done two projects for us. Everyone at this company works efficiently and they are very reasonably priced. Dominic and all of his team were accommodating to our scheduling needs. I wish I could speak to the quality of their work, but I cannot. I made an appointment with Dominic to come out and give me an estimate for some repairs to my condo. I needed 2 bedroom walls removed and replaced, painting all but 2 rooms, and removing and replacing my deck. He was on time, professional, competitive bid, and a nice guy. I received the quote for the work in a couple of days, which was right as he said it would be. However I had some issues with my condo association and needed to delay the work 2 – 3 weeks while we got everything straightened out there. When I was ready to schedule the work I couldn’t get him to return a phone call, voicemail or email. Needless to say I had to go with someone else.

I had a very different experience with this company.
We moved to a single family home in River forest and had been interviewing a few contractors. I came across Irpino construction through Unilocal.
And called them. Dominic was very pleasant to communicate with throughout.
Funny thing was we later found out that my husband and him went to the same high school.
After a couple of meetings — Dominic told us that his partner Charles would come to our house since he lived closer to our house and would give us the estimate, etc.
Charles came to our house in mid Nov. He was supposed to give us an estimate after about 10 days or so. We never heard from him.
I contacted Dominic and told him about it. He said Charles is traveling and will get back to you soon. And he also told me that you should look for another contractor in the mean time.
We are in the mid feburary now. I still don’t have any email from Charles.

This company is nothing short of amazing.
Design: I hated my 19′ x 6′ master bath. Using the walk-​in shower was becoming increasingly unsafe because the door stuck and there was a big curb. There was a big jacuzzi we never used and there were what looked like a lot of cabinets, but no storage space.
The kicker — I had a totally unrealistic budget for what I wanted.
Dominic prepared a proposal that would give me a basic bathroom that would have met my budget. Then there was the list of all the goodies I wanted and a price for each one. So, I blew my budget and got it all — I could have had a nice bathroom in my budget, but I got a spectacular one instead.
The people: There was Dominic, the owner and sales person, Jaime, the crew chief, and a bunch of workers who all had different specialty areas. Every morning, the person who did what was needed next showed up. Jaimie was there at least once a day checking up. And Dominic called every day and stopped by a lot to answer any questions and check on the work.
No matter what we asked, Dominic’s answer was «Not a problem. We’ll take care of it.» Including when the shut off valve fell apart when they tried to turn off the water. Or picking the wrong color paint. Or making sure everything that nothing was out of easy reach. Or dealing with an upset 2 ½ year old net door who was scared by the noise.

We had our basement completed by these guys in TWO WEEKS. Our basement flooded twice and the first time it took six months for some other contractor to finish the project. We are very please with Dominic’s crew in their workmanship and efficiency. They are fast, good, price reasonable, and clean in their work. Besides that is they are very good with communication. We never had problem to get hold of them right from the beginning.

They do great work and they are fairly cheap!

I bought a condo last month.
I knew I wanted to re-​do the bathroom after I bought it so I shopped around and the ALL 5 STAR reviews led me Irpino Construction.
I emailed back and forth with Dominic a few times to let him know I’d like to have him do an estimate once I got settled in. We set an appointment to have him come by.
Unfortunately, my downstairs neighbor said my bathroom was leaking into his bathroom so it turned into a more emergent matter.
I had 2 other plumbers come out and give me estimates on just REPAIRING the leak issue before Dominic’s appointment.
Dominic showed up for the appointment and took a quick look and gave me an on the spot estimate for completely RE-​DOing the shower with new tile and REPAIRING the leak issue and small additional plumbing work.
His estimate was MORE THAN REASONABLE (one of the other plumbers wanted almost HALF of what Dominic’s estimate was and they weren’t even going to re-​do my shower — JUST THE PLUMBING WORK) and I asked him to start work right away.
He had his partner Jaime come in and verify when work could be completed and here I am less than a week later with a brand new shower with no leak.
I got to pick out the tiles myself from a huge inventory at Mosaicos over on North + Pulaski.
I am so happy with Irpino Construction and glad I could provide another glowing review.

An enthusiastic 5 stars!
We had water damage to our house and needed a skilled craftsman to appraise the damage for a claim we were putting together. Dominic of Irpino Construction not only was extremely prompt and flexible with his availability; but he was also extremely friendly and honest in his assessment.
It’s extremely rare to find people of his caliber in this type of industry, and I would therefore wholeheartedly recommend him and his company for any project.

he deserve more than 5 stars! He was so patient and helpful to us, first time condo owners, he spent an hour just going over all the things we want to do and answered all our questions. the whole time he’s so sweet and pleasant so you don’t feel bad asking at all. then he gave us a very detailed quote the same day. we waited for almost a week to call him back and changed quite a few things he was still happy to help us out in any way he could. we used him to remove out pop corn ceiling and now our ceiling looks so nice! we tried to paint ourselves but ended up removing some of the paint off the the ceiling, he came back to help us fix everything at a reasonable price. we recommended him to all our friends and def strongly recommend him on Unilocal!thank you so much! just fyi he also has all A reviews on angies list too!

I had Dominic of Irpino Construction quote me for a kitchen bath remodel of my condo. I got 5 quotes, and Irpino Construction was the second least expensive. I initially hired the least expensive contractor against my gut instinct, and ran into all sorts of issues including some really poor work and a bunch of extras. I wound up firing the 1^st guy and calling Dominic. Dominic came in and finished the job and really rescued me. I can’t say enough about the high caliber of the work, and professionalism of Dominic and his team. I really learned my lesson that the cheapest is not always the best and will only work with Dominic going forward. It’s really rare to a company that is so professional, reasonably priced, and good at what they do. Thank you Dominic for rescuing my job!

When my husband and I decided to tear down the covered deck that was taking up the whole backyard, I was dreading the whole idea of finding a contractor. The whole nightmare of getting jerked around and having your money taken for a job NOT well done is scary (I know, I know… I think I watched a little too much Holmes on Homes).
Anyway, out of all the contractors that came by or called and never came by OR called but never got a call back, Dominic followed through. He is very good about getting back to you as soon as he can (this guy is booked to his nostrils). And… If you’re an OCD freak like me, he’s very, VERY patient. This is hard to find in any industry.
The planning process took the longest but it was because my husband and I took a while with deciding on what we wanted exactly. Then once we signed that contract, the ball was rolling fast!
On day 1, they demolished the entire covered deck and hauled everything away!!! This thing was huge, had electrical wiring AND a gas line for the grill. Amazing.
Then, within a week, we had a new smaller deck, stairs at the back door, and… a backyard!!! Who knew?!
Now, we just need to figure out phase 2… sod? concrete? pavers?
We’re not even done yet but the process has been so pleasant that I just had to give him his 5 stars early =)
