Integrated Bodywork with John-Michael

I’ve been a fan of John-​Michael for years. I really like his personalized, sensitive approach to massage: he checks in with you before the massage to see how you’re feeling, ask about trouble spots, etc., then after to see how you’re feeling. His massage is strong and confident but not hard or painful. And no chit chat during the massage! (I’ve hated when others have talked during massages). His new space in Andersonville is lovely: comfortable, clean, calming. To date I’ve referred two friends to John-​Michael and both have really liked him and continued seeing him for treatment.

I wanted to do a review for John-​Michael ages ago. But I had not been to him in years. You see, when I first met JMK, we were working at a certain coffee shop of international fame together. He was my first. First professional massage ever. This was in the early 90’s. And I was hooked. I don’t know why massage is considered a luxury in this county, cause it makes me feel a hell of a lot better than a trip to the doctor. And I tend to feel that massage is a lot more helpful for minor aches and pains than anything a doctor does.
Anyway, he was amazing 20 years ago. We feel out of touch. Years slide by… and then, FB brought us back together again! And you know what? He’s only gotten better. And I still fall asleep on his table. He had trouble waking me up. So yeah, your mileage may vary, but for me, he is pretty much The Man. I just need to find myself some insurance that covers massages.
I feel like Saturday morning massages, followed by brunch somewhere in Andersonville needs to start being a thing for me.

A treatment with him is an opportunity for me to unplug and his personal consultation before and after each session is always appreciated. After the demands of a stressful work week, I look forward to my appointments and always leave feeling rejuvenated.

I always referred to John-​Michael as Mr magic hands he is such a calm gentle person with such positive energy that it’s easy to relax being with him. He will ask you various questions about where & why you are hurting. He can work on areas but his full massage feels like an out of body experience for me, I’m so relaxing, without pain that I feel like I have been on a tropical vacation. I honestly believe, that he has such good energy as a person that his healing touch passes on that energy. I’m floating in the clouds after a John Michael massage! Get one and you will agree.

Very comfortable atmosphere, positive energy, and care and attentiveness to my particular issues (I have a history of shoulder dislocation and he’s very aware and careful for me). I’ve seen him just twice, but both times I’ve felt better for a very long time after. The massage is so relaxing, I zone out and practically fall asleep!

I have received the best massages from John-​Michael! I am so happy I found him as I have had such a bad back for so long I thought I was going to need surgery. I explained what I was feeling, he set me up on a theraputic program which I followed diligently, and «voila», I am fixed. Thank you John– Michael, I will be forever grateful.

As a person John-​Michael is a great listener, relaxed and gracious. I felt instantly at ease and knew I was in good hands. His office is cozy and is very much an extension of him.
Seeing John-​Michael on a regular basis has proven to be the best investment I’ve made in myself in a very long time. I’d give a 10 star rating if I could.

John-​Michael has been my go-​to therapist for over 8 years. Each session opens with a query about any specific needs, however, John-​Michael has the intuitive gift to ‘read’ my body and know what is needed. I have followed him through a variety of locations as his practice has grown, but every facility has always had a very peaceful and serene design. I can feel the stress beginning to drain as soon as I am in the environment.
Shame on me, but I don’t indulge as often as I should (and for me with a bad back, massage should really be viewed as therapy and treatment as opposed to a luxury or indulgence). The various packages and incentives that are offered (and do change from time to time) really do make sense and are worth investigating.
I have to drive to the office, so parking can sometimes be a bit dicey and I have not been that lucky about snagging same-​day appointments. Also, after the initial assessment, John-​Michael does tend to be silent, however for me, that is a plus, as it frees me from the burden of making small talk and lefts me drift away and enjoy.
If you are in need of a theraputic or simply a relaxing massage, I recommend a visit to John-​Michael.

I have seen John-​Michael monthly since October 2014. I really look forward to my appointments with him. He listens to what I have to say & also listens to what my body is telling him. My big pet peeve is when massage therapists are too chatty. That is not the case here, but he still conveys warmth and caring before, during, and after the treatment. He can tell when I’ve had stress with work or my body is feeling good. The space is beautiful and very conveniently located right on Clark Street in Andersonville. Making appointments is easy and he always texts me the next day to check in on me and remind me to drink water, which is very kind. Even the sheets make me feel more relaxed and I love the massage table warmer! I’ve given a bunch of massage gift certificates away as gifts so my friends and employees can enjoy a massage with John-​Michael. I hear his raindrop massage is great, that’s what I want to try next!
