We are a karate dojo, offering classes for children and adults. Our kids classes are a dynamic combination of challenges that build your child’s focus, discipline and coordination. And they will have a blast doing it! Our adult classes focus on the basics of karate, from kata to sparring. Come join us for a free trial class!

History

Established in 2013.

Imazaki Dojo was started in the Summer of 2013. The owners, Sensei Seijo Imazaki and his wife wanted to teach their son and his friends in the community karate. So they rented a small space for a few hours a week and held classes. Word traveled fast in the South Loop and before they knew it their Dojo had outgrown the small space. With the help of dedicated students and parents, they rented and renovated the empty storefront of 1720 S. Michigan. They now teach kids Karate 5 days a week and have adult Karate, as well as Brazilian JuJitsu. As residents of the South Loop, the owners love giving something positive back to the community.
