Pete Arndt performed an inspection on a small house I really wanted to buy. Mr. Arndt found problems with the electrical system in the home. As well he suggested a sewer inspection to look for tree root invasion. Consequently, the electricians estimate was near $ 8K. No root involvement in sewer but the clay pipe had collapsed. Another $ 8.5K. I’m wondering what else is about to fall apart that I don’t know about? Needless to say with nigh on to $ 20K in repairs I nixt that deal. Thank you Mr. Arndt.

Last year, I had Mike Triumph inspect my condo. I was more than impressed! The reason why I’m writing so late is because I’m just going back into his report to refresh my memory. Household Inspection team did an inspection on a new purchase condo. Jeff Kaplan came out and he was excellent, very thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and professional. He explained all of his findings and observations very clearly and answered all of our questions. The full inspection report was generated within an hour after the inspection. They are a more expensive but it is totally worth it! Pete is the man!
They come out and may not be super friendly but they get the job done. Good turn around time on the reports. They essentially have an app that they write up the report as they go (very cool). They walk you through everything at the end of their inspection and are more than willing to answer any of your questions. Saved us from buying a home with mold! The infared is a great way to spot moisture.
Highly recommended for the higer price!

Wanted to throw a quick review up here. Mike Triumph came out last year when I closed on my first condo and did a good inspection. He was thorough, maybe too thourough? That made me nervous about little things like missing door wall guard things. But I guess that’s a good thing. He helped diagnose a broken ignition on the furnance too, which I don’t know if a lot of home inspectors would catch. Anyways, nice job and would recommend.

I had the opportunity to work with Jeff and his associates both before and after the purchasing of my condo. Just like the purchase of any home there are concerns that may arise after the purchase of a home. Jeff was gracious enough to come look at my condo 3 months after move in and provide feedback and recommendations. In addition, Jeff was extremely courteous and professional. I trust Jeff and would recommend Jeff and his company to all friends and family.

Inspection was fine, report was thorough and generated quickly. Not pleased though that 6 months later we are re-​doing our entire roof because of major water leakage and damage. Were told during the inspection that the roof had 3 – 4 more years of life and that we should budget appropriately.
Had this expense been expected within first few months of ownership, we likely would have walked away from the deal.

Household Inspection Team, Inc. completed our home inspection during our recent home purchase. Jeff from the business was knowledgeable, on time, and patient with our questions. He carefully explained all of the issues he found, provided solutions, and walked us through why the issues existed and how they should be corrected. The document he prepared was concise and promptly emailed to us for ease of use and access.
He provided a discounted rate to come back at the final walkthrough to assess the buyer’s repairs, which ultimately saved us a lot of money! Further, he was willing to answer questions and provide guidance after the inspections, which we found to be very helpful.

I met Mike from Household Inspection Team at the house I was purchasing. He must have been there early, as he already had a bunch of information on the exterior of the house. He was extremely friendly, kind, and informative.
He went through the house while the buyer was there, and did a wonderful job of doing his job, while keeping his clients needs (mine) first, and expertly handling the seller being present.
The report was sent to me the same day, and he did a terrific job on every aspect of the transaction. I would highly recomend this company, and specifically Mike.

My realtor set this inspection up for me. We made a cash offer with a seven day closing scheduled so we didn’t have much advance notice. They quickly set up an appointment and Mike Triumph did our inspection. Thorough, professional and e-​mailed me the inspection report at 6:26 AM the next morning!

Michael Triumph was my inspector. He showed up on time and was very thorough in his inspection. He even offered some helpful tips on correcting some of the issues.
I would use HIT again and reccommend Michael.

Mike Triumph inspected our place and was extremely thorough. He walked through with my husband and pointed out areas that were of concern and other areas that also were not as pertinent, but still important to note. We were incredibly impressed when we received a thorough and detailed report the next day!
They also gave a great Unilocal discount and offered free thermal imaging, which was awesome! Scheduling was a breeze and squeezed me in on a Tuesday morning when I called on a Sunday!

I had an inspection of a condo by Jeff Kaplan over the past weekend. I really needed to find somebody who could meet me over the weekend so I wouldn’t have to take time off from work. Jeff contacted me by phone within a couple hours of my filling out their online contact form. He had a 4pm opening on Sunday and we met at that time. His quote is pretty much the going rate for an inspection.
He got started and went through all the checkpoints. In addition for no extra cost, he used a thermal imaging camera to check the ceiling and above floor for any water leaks, a quick search on google shows this is a $ 2K piece of equipment and something that I think is extremely important. When he wrapped up he took us through and gave a summary and was quite thorough. When we got to the garage, he immediately noticed the electrical pole was about 1 foot inside the garage door, we never would have thought about it, but since this place said it came with a spot we wanted to make sure we could actually park there. He also checked the tub and even took the cover off to check for leaks. We feel much better knowing all about the condo now. He sent a detailed report the next day. If you’re thinking of buying any real estate, you will be smart to go with HIT.

I won’t be too thorough because it already looks like Pete got a lot of love, but we used him a few months back for a home inspection. He showed up early (which was embarrassing because the owner of the house was running late and so we had to wait). During that time Pete and I had honest conversations about what was really necessary, and what we should consider upgrading in the future. He was really thorough, and I felt confident about our purchase afterwards. Oh, and we booked him pretty last mintues.
I’m just choosing to write this review now because we are working with HUD consultant, who, when compared to Pete, is a complete waste of space. I’m SO glad we had an «additional» inspection with Pete or I would be a lot more worried.

I used HIT this past weekend to inspect a house that my wife and I are buying and I have nothing but good things to say. When we purchased our condo, the inspector wasn’t nearly as thorough and I found easily identifiable issues with the place when I moved in — things that the seller should have covered during attorney review.
Pete arrived at the house a few minutes early and started by asking if I had any questions that he could answer or concerns that he should concentrate on. Since I had never owned a house before, I was primarily concerned about the condition of the roof, that the basement was dry, and the structure was sound. Pete focused on those things as well as every other minute aspect of the home. Most of the things that he uncovered were relatively minor but I was impressed by his attention to detail as well as the wealth of knowledge that he possessed. He could explain how everything worked as well as the typical life span and replacement cost for all of the major mechanical elements in the house and he could spot a code violation from a mile away. When we were finished, I was 100% confident that I had received a rock-​solid inspection for the money that I put down.
Since this is essentially the biggest purchase that we have ever made, we were relatively nervous about the overall condition of the house despite the fact that everything looked good to us. We both felt very confident that we are making a good decision after bringing Pete in to inspect. I will most definitely call HIT in to inspect if i ever buy another house.
