They have the best soul food in the city! They will let your sample most items, I got full just trying samples. lol The owner /staff are very friendly, I wish they had dining options but their food basically carryout. I have had the fish, greens. yams, peach cobbler and mac cheese. The food is seasoned to perfection and they give you ample food for reasonable prices. I live on the north and travel across town just for this, so good!

The food is quite good. It is other things which make it bad. Namely the owner and staff. Signs on the door and printed on cards state this place opens at 12:00 pm. Went today and they were just opening at 2:30 pm. Honey, how are your customers suppose to know your hours have changed? Fish and chicken orders take 25 to 30 minutes to cook, they do not tell you that until after you pay. I was there 45 minutes waiting for my order. There were only 2 people working, one cooking and one trying to fill orders and run the register. They need to hire more help. The owner became rude and out-raged because customers were complaining about the service. Her response is she is moving to Bronzeville to deal with a different class of folks. She acted like a typical ghetto business owner. yelling and screaming at the customers talking about her 3500.00 monthly rent. Serioiusly totally inappropriate conversation. I sincerely hope she has a better attitude or she will not last long there.

I have been here twice and both times the food was good. I had fried chicken(breast and wing) Mac n cheese, and sweet potatoes the first time. The second time I had short ribs, Mac n cheese, dressing, sweet potatoes, and greens because I want to try other sides. Everything was really good, I just felt that it was a bit pricey and not enough meat for me.

Food is good. You have to ask them what sides they have because they do not have all of them on display. Went with a friend and they inquired about fish. They didn’t tell them until after that the fish was made to order. Also, I tried to go back there on Monday because I was yearning for some soul food and did not want to give McArthurs or Ruby’s my money. I called at least 4 times and no one answered. I would let minutes pass and still no answer. I tried my best to GIVE them my money!!! Surely didn’t want to go in before calling in because they are slow.

This is the best soul food in the city, bar none! I have tried everything on the menu(except the fish cause I can’t eat it) and everything is outstanding. Can’t give it five stars only because it is a take out place but they do have a couple of tables there. If they ever find a place big enough to be a restaurant it will be the best in the city. Worth every penny. a must try. They even catered my cook county vital records office’s Christmas party and every co-worker who participated loved it. Some have driven from different parts of the city to get more.

OMG went to Honey’s To Go for lunch. Had meatloaf, green beans with turkey and candid sweets. My friend had pot roast, red beans and rice, and garlic mashed potatoes with gravy. Oh, by the way they even sell real kool-aid. Go figure. No more Pearlie’s or McArthur’s. To the southside I go. Taste’s like good old grandmother’s country cooking. Yum Yum Yum…

The food here was a pleasant suprise! It’s next to a Subway in a strip mall on Garfield Blvd, next to the Dan Ryan Expwy. I had the Short Ribs of Beef with Collard Greens, and Mac & Cheese. WONDERFUL!!! I had the Peach Cobbler for dessert… MORE wonderful. the crust was light with a light buttery flavor balanced great with the peaches I wanted to see if my first trip there was a fluke, so I went back this past Sunday. Honey’s To Go is consistanly awesome with their selections. I’m hooked, and I’ve placed them ahead of MacArthures on the West Side, and Chicago Chicken & Waffle in Bronzville! It’s that good, however it IS «to Go» so no seating, but the food is wonderful!
