Hollywood Auto Parts & Service

You can go to an auto dealer and pay through the nose to be made special. I’ve made that mistake in the past and on the whole they do a good job, but they over charge and make you feel like you got a good deal.
Hollywood Auto Parts made my wife and I feel special. They fixed the car and even changed some of our light bulbs. Plus they charged more than half what the dealership were asking. So we could fix the car and afford to eat :-) They take the service to the next lvl. They made me feel valued. Maybe it’s just old school, but car dealers could/​should learn from them.
My only problem is I can only give five stars.

Pros: Friendly staff, fast turn-​around time, work well-​done
Cons: High labor costs, used an expensive battery when a less expensive one would have been sufficient, no phone call before performing repair
My battery died Tuesday because I left my flashers on. Making matters worse, the hood latch was frozen. I called my auto club which, due to their using contractors, took me to Hollywood. I’ll give them credit; they did the repair in less than a day. The cost, though, took my breath away. They installed an Interstate brand $ 125 battery. There are LOTS of batteries that are just as good for less. In addition, their labor costs are $ 99.98/hr. Mercedes mechanics charge $ 125! It’s customary for a garage to call before performing a repair. I never got one.
I have to stress this: I don’t think they’re dishonest. The work was well-​done. In addition, everyone was friendly without that condescending attitude a lot of car mechanics have. But, if you’re like me and don’t know much about cars, maybe consult with some other garages or friends who know cars before going straight to Hollywood

I wish I could give Hollywood Auto 10 Stars ! Joe & his friendly staff are always helpful, taking their time to solve all the mechanical problems I drive in with. I have been a customer for 33 years and I highly recomend them. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ! ASK FOR JOE !

These guys are awesome, thorough, friendly and do a great job.
Most other local auto service jobs are pretty outdated in their system and processes but the paperwork I received from these guys was perfect and detailed. They have great communication at the shop between front desk and the technicians in the bay areas.
The guys are super friendly and make you feel welcomed. If you’re looking for a reliable place to bring your car, bring it here… you’ll be in good hands!

Joe the owner and his crew have been more than accommodating. Earlier this fall I hit a pothole. Granted it took more than one trip to diagnose the issue, but Hollywood Auto has always been honest, timely, and courteous to get the situation fixed. I recommend anyone that has car issues take it to Hollywood Auto.

I feel SO LUCKY I found these guys! They will have my business FOREVER! Joe and his team were the epitome of good customer service when I was in a bind this morning and their professionalism and genuine niceness made a difficult morning so much better for me. I never felt like I was being condescended to when they were explaining things to me, and everyone was wonderful. They also managed to get me out and back on the road incredibly quickly! So, long story short, these guys are great and I will definitely be coming back for all my routine maintenance and car problems!

Hollywood Auto Parts is a small and very cozy neighborhood shop with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I have used their services ever since I moved in the neighborhood (10 years…) and I am very pleased with the quality of work they have provided so far. Brought different cars to this place in the past without issues. Due to a busy work schedule, I was unable to bring my car for service for quite some time. I knew there were a few things wrong and I was willing to drop a lot of money to get things fixed. This was my go to auto repair place.
I walked in and explained to the owner what the issue was. About a 60 minute wait, they came back. Instead of giving me a break down of how much it will cost to fix this, the owner suggested that the value of my car was not worth the price to fix. They had the opportunity to make a lot of money off of me, but did not. I asked for part of the work to be done anyways because I hated the hassle of car shopping and had an idea of the issues already. The owner was very honest and gave me a price quote, but again informed me that it would not be worth it.
I took his advice and found a new car that I am now in love with. Thank you for being honest with all of your clients and continue the great work!

I love love love Hollywood Service. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and super honest! I have become a customer for life.
I take in my car faithfully for its oil change every three months and am always confident that if there are any problems I will be told about them. They never try to do more work on your car than is absolutely necessary for safety. I had my air conditioning repaired here as well. Joe and Ninos are the best! Never any BS here!

THE BEST. They give me great advice, even when I have to take my car somewhere else. They are honest and do excellent work. They are always busy, but I never have to wait that long for service. Plus, I think there is usually popcorn in the waiting area, so… there’s that.

First time here today and all I can say is that the service is great. Joe (the owner) really took the time to explain the process that they were going to do to my vehicle. I needed a minor repair and they were able to get the part within an hour and get my car fixed.

I truly Love this place. Very welcoming and Very very Knowledgeable about parts, services etc! Accurate about my car mishaps. Hollywood will be my go to auto shop.
Being a female I have to always be extremely alert. However, here at Hollywood. I happened to feel comfortable due to the quality of the service that was provided. I highly recommend this place, great Experience!!!

Fairly new to the area and a first time car owner, i tried this place for the first time for an oil change several months ago. Well, i just went in for my 2^nd oil change, and the service has been consistent both times. Friendly/​honest service and fair price– i will probably be going here for any of my car needs in the future.
Both times, i called in advanced to check availability of coming by for an oil change and was able to get in right away… though there is a wait while the car is being serviced, which i don’t mind. i bring my work/​laptop with me and get my work done with the free wifi that’s available in the waiting room. i’ll sip on some coffee, do my work, and watch some tv, and my oil is changed soon after. One of the sweet guys even made me popcorn in the old fashioned popcorn machine and insisted that i take some. My husband chowed down on a doughnut during yesterday morning service and seemingly enjoyed himself as well haha… yes i guess i’m saying that the guys at Hollywood somehow made the oil change experience pleasant!

There is a reason for so many 5 star reviews. The check engine light has been on in my car for the last 4 years because VW ripped me off, charging me around $ 1,000 after 5 attempts and two dealerships to fix the check engine light problem. As you can imaging this caused much frustration because I would have to pass emissions tests every year! I’d have to take my car into VW and have them reset the codes every year but this last year VW would not set the codes and insisted that I have the light looked at by them and I thought no way in H*** am I paying them to not fix my car for the 6^th time. After being ripped off so many times and so many failed attempts for my cars own dealership to fix it, I lost hope that anyone could ever fix the check engine light.
So, I took my car to Quality Transmission because they changed my transmission in the past and they reset the codes for me. By the time I was about to drive into the emissions stall the light came back on! ugh. I knew I had to fix this problem once and for all, but how was I going to find the right guy for the job? With a lot of faith that I would end up in the right guys hands and a few phone calls later, by the grace of god, I was sitting in the parking lot of Hollywood Auto speaking with Joe. He had me hooked up to his code reader and my car had mega codes. I knew from the moment I sat in the car with Joe that he would fix this for me. With his patience and persistence to deliver the best service and with all of the integrity of his business I knew I had found the car whisperer and all my frustrations would subside. After expressing my utter frustrations, Joe said that he would physically drive my car through the emissions test and pass it himself before he returned my vehicle! I thought wow, thats a man that stands behind his work and a man that will see the problem through and through and fix it before he ever thinks about returning a vehicle to its owner.
Needless to say, Joe had a full schedule but bumped up my service needs because he knew I needed to pass the test by the end of the month. I was so grateful for his kindness and patience in working with my car. I could never thank him enough. Once he returned my car he had a certificate that said my emissions were passed for the next two years! Before strolling away with my car, I gave joe a hug and had tears in my eyes. Finally I won’t be riding around for the remainder of my cars life (hopefully for another 3 – 4 years) with a pesky check engine light glaring at me! BTW– its been about a month now and the light is still off. In the past it would’ve come back on immediatley the next day after it had been worked on! Thank You Hollywood for all the great work you do! I can never thank you enough.

I moved from CA to IL and was concerned how am I going to get a good car workshop. Thanks to Hollywood Auto. They earned my trust and made me feel I am safe. I went in today for oil change and they got me in and out less than an hour. This is the only car workshop tht I have been too where they offer donuts coffee etc to make their customers feel home. This shows how much they value their customer and they offer the lowest price. Also I observed that they have all the automobile parts in their shop so that means any repair work doesn’t need to be delayed for any parts to be received externally .I will be there again for all my future services. I have been going to Hollywood Auto for 25 years, honest, fair, polite and courteous. Have yet to be disappointed by their service and do not see that happening anytime soon.

Ninos is one of the greatest parts guys I’ve ever dealt with. Always giving me the best prices around and his service department is fast. A++++ work all around!

Took our car here because it wouldn’t start. They said engine was seized and needed to replace. We got a second opinion. It was just the starter. An easy & cheap fix. Thank god we got a second opinion. Either they were trying to cheat us or they are lazy and didn’t even look at it. Don’t go here.

Best shop in the city! My ABS light was on in my 2001 Lexus RX300 and Joe didn’t even charge me to diagnose the problem on their code reader. They even reset the codes for free. Figured out it was just a simple brake switch and they were able to install it early the next day, while I waited.
The best part of all, the price was WAY lower than I would have expected. I would have paid as much as I did to get it fixed, just to have another place read the codes on their machine!
I know where I will be taking my car from now on. Joe treated me right and explained evertyhing thoroughly. If you’re looking for a great auto shop that won’t drain your bank account unnecessarially, give these guys a call. They are the best! VERY satisfied customer here.

I’ve been going here for the 5 years I’ve lived on the next block. After the first visit or two, they knew me by name. Now I have friends who drive across town to come here. Service is always fast, fairly priced and all of the employees are professional and honest. Now that Joe is my mechanic, I’ve stopped bothering my dad and grandpa about my car problems!
Last winter I locked my keys in my car at a gas station nearby, but certainly not just down the street. I had no idea what to do-​so I called Hollywood. Within minutes someone came out to help. They got my door open and didn’t expect a cent. Customer service like this is is a rare, rare find:)
