Where do I begin. High Fidelity took over for Estate Properties in December 2015. During that time, the residents had no way to contact them. We were given a phone number that was no longer in service. As I result, I was left without heat for a month. Leaving messages on the only number given to contact obviously did nothing. when I finally was able to reach them through a website I was told all occupants would not receive an option to renew their lease, since they were going to go through and get the building. The living conditions here have been abysmal in the last 5 months. The stairwell has not been cleaned in that time. There are dead bugs everywhere. They have let the garbage pile up outside leading to a huge population of rats. I have been at this property since May of 2010, and there has always been an infestation of mice that I have had to deal with that no one cares about at all because they don’t live here. In dealing with my heating situation, or the lack thereof, I was told my windows had been left open. In addition, the electric heaters were turned on without my consent when I wasn’t home. This was entirely unsafe because of the electrical wires for the stereo/cable/tv were in front of the heaters; not to mention the cat hair that had gathered there for the last 6 years. I have never once used those heaters for that precise reason. When an employee came over to asses the situation he agreed that it was, in fact, unsafe to use them for the reasons I just listed above. In addition, it took them a month to replace a light that has burnt out outside on the back porch. This light was crucial to safety, one, in order to see, and two, to make sure no one was lurking outside as the back gate was frequently left open. I was told by that same employee that the reason my apartment was infested with mice was because the condition of the basement was in such a state of disrepair and absolute filth. In the last six weeks there have been four more mice here that, thankfully, my cat has dealt with. However, when I reached out to the property manager I was told this was a GOOD thing because it meant their«treatment» was«working.» Apparently their treatment was vacating apartment so the mice would come to mine to search for food? He also informed me it wasn’t his fault«they inherited this mess.» So, it isn’t mine, either, and this company hasn’t done anything to attend to the needs and improve the state of this building while we all still continue to have to live here until our leases are up. I can’t wait to be out of here at the end of this month, but in the meantime, I just went down to do laundry and every machine has been dismantled without any notice from them. This is beyond unacceptable to me. This is not a way any respectable business would run itself. I don’t make as much money as their current or future tenants, but it is my right to be treated just as well as they are.

Non-restaurant reviews are not typical for me, but I had to say something about High Fidelity. It is possibly the best property management company in Chicago. I have never had issues with communication regarding questions, repairs, or concerns of any topic. Sean, Jacquie, and Brett are highly professional and always respond promptly – and care about your well being, a rarity in this business. If you equate your average property management company to a horrible glass of Malort, High Fidelity is Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The entire bottle. And then some.

I would like to strongly recommend High Fidelity Property Management, particularly John McGeown and Sean. I have been a resident of an apartment that they managed for approximately 2 years. During that time they have been extremely responsive to my requests and even provided same day repairs when requested. I had to make special arrangements when moving out and I worked personally with John to make sure all my needs were met. Great company.

Sean Flynt at HFPM Rocks! He has single handedly taken care of all my needs before, during and after my move to my new apartment here in Chicago. Without him, I don’t know if I would still be as happy as I am. He’s a valuable asset to the firm. If you need something done in a timely manner, and done right the first time, ask for Sean!

I’ve had John and his team managing my small apartment building in Andersonville, Chicago, for about three years now, and they’re head and shoulders above my previous property manager. Tenant emails are consistently answered immediately, my property is kept clean and the garden always looks tidy, and most importantly, they’ve been extremely responsive to any urgent matters. I’ve also asked John to help me find contractors to do work on the building, and he always takes the time to find a few quotes and help me negotiate the best deal. Finally, his team is on point. They send me monthly reports on my income and expenses, they handle my bills and leases, and they take great care of me. Simple, no hassle, and professional. I intend to utilize John and his team for my future properties as well, no doubt.

John McGeown and his team have been extremely responsive, proactive, and professional. As an out of town property owner, I handed management over to John as it had become too difficult to handle on my own. His team has done a wonderful job preparing the unit for turn, making smart repair recommendations and completing the repairs, and coordinating with my owners association. I would definitely recommend them to any property owner looking to hire professional management, and by extension to any potential renter looking for top notch service.

I have personally worked with John McGeown and his High Fidelity team for a little over 6 months and I can tell you that there is not a better group of people to work with. They are extremely responsive to tenants needs and keep their properties in pristine condition. I would highly recommend High Fidelity to both property owners and would-be tenants.
