I tried Harold’s tonight after my co worker told me about the location in Beverly and damnnn it was good! I didn’t expect it to be that good. I ordered an 8 piece with mild sauce. The mild sauce had just the right kick to it. The sauce, chicken, fries, and white bread all were a great combination together. The only negative thing that I could say is that it’s real dingy on the inside. They should fix the décor. Make it look modern so more people will come in and get a taste of Harolds.

Food tastes GREAT! However there are 2 reasons that I can’t give or 5 stars. THEYAREEXTREMELYSLOW, one time it took over an hour to get my food. Then the next time I tried to call my order in and it kept taking me to a full voicemail box. I know they are fairly new, I hope it gets better because it is VERY delicious.

Extremely slow! Called my order in and still waited more than a half hour. It seems like they need help, only 2 workers.

The customer service is horrifying. Totally unprofessional, the worst you can imagine. Initially, I was so happy to see when they were building this so close to me in Beverly and the design and layout was so impressive but the service is the worst ive ever experienced. Read the other comments and you will notice the trend of behavior and where the problem lies. Sad that management can’t see it cuz this place could be so great if they would just hire the right staff. If you are coming from out of town or its ur first time eating at Harolds don’t ruin ur experience or the experience of ur out of town guest here. Use ur common sense and go to a different location. Trust me

This place has the most disrespectful, unprofessional and lying customer service. DONOTCOMEHERE!!! I called in to place an order and the guy on the phone did explain the policy. He stated that typically orders are not allowed to be placed over the phone because of future orders that weren’t picked up. I could completely understand that. However, the guy stated that if I was definitely going to come then he will go ahead and start the order. I said ok. I asked him how long it will take and he said 15 – 20 mins. My husband arrives and the food was just dropped.42 mins later! So we had to wait longer. I called back and a different guy answered the phone. He was very rude and unprofessional. I explained to him that the initial guy I spoke with said that he would go ahead and start the order which was 45 mins ago. He reiterated the policy that I was informed of, but the fact that the worker made a promise to a customer, that promise should have been honored. Especially when dealing with customers who are spending their money. I was trying to explain to him what the guy had told me and he kept cutting me off and didn’t even have the audacity to apologize nor try to rectify this situation. I despise this place and they lost my business. I am a business owner and I would never treat my customers this way. And my order was screwed up and the food was not good. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEYHERE!

The service is ridiculously slow. Called in an order and the person said 15 – 20 min. 45 min later, my order is still not ready and it was an order for only one thing. Very disappointing.

This is the Slowest Harold’s in Chicago. The employees don’t care either. Apparently they don’t like big orders. I ordered a bucket of 24 wings and two half darks at 5:19pm. The order was ready at 6:15pm. The cashier that I asked why was it taking so long, told me he didn’t take my order so he didn’t know. The employee that did take my order refused to turn around. No apologies… No offerings to make the situation better, just«they are working on your order now». If it wasn’t my daughter’s bday(She had to have Harold’s!), I would have left and got a refund. But that’s not cool, and I won’t be back.

This was my first time patroning this location, and I must say that the chicken was very fresh, the wings were a good size without the look of being on steroids. Customer service was good, the establishment was clean, and there was minimal wait time unlike many other locations I’ve been to over the years.

Harold’s isn’t known for their customer service. This location doesn’t have a bullet proof window, that’s a positive. Waited 10 minutes before the kid cleaning the floor and making the food took my order. He wiped his dirty hands on his pants, took my card, and went back to handling food without washing his hands. The restaurant is filthy. The windows and counter haven’t been cleaned since they opened. There were bugs crawling everywhere. I walked away before my food was done, I’ll pass on the food poisoning or E. Coli infection. Thanks, but no thanks. I’m surprised the public health department hasn’t shut them down…

Overall the food was good, but the wait time was terrible. I understand its made to order and they even have the sign for 15 – 20 minute wait. However, it is not forgivable to have my wait time at 35 minutes. That wait time was not worth the quality of the food. Might as well ordered a stuff crust Chicago pizza from somewhere else.

The food is great, I mean hot fresh crispy better than most locations in the area but… no one ever answers the phone. They also don’t have posted hours, the restroom is out of order, oh and they are sloooooooooow.

Now this is Harold’s Chicken at it’s finest! I was hesistant to try this location given the rating and comments but I am so glad I did. Most people complain about the service, well I would have to agree the service needs some work. But the product is excellent. After being let down by another Harold’s this location did what they needed to do to make me a happy customer. Fried Chicken 1−5=5. Mild Sauce 1−5=5. Fries 1−5=3. Customer Service 1−5=2.

Im with Chan. This is my favorite Harolds. The good is always fresh and i hate reheated fast food. If you’re going to charge me a price for food, cook it fresh. I will wait. I did have one issue with this place. About a month ago, they were like 20 minutes late opening. I had gotten there 15 minutes before opening. So waiting 35 minutes before they even placed the order would not have been so bad if they apologized ave tried to accommodate me. Bad customer service and common sense are 2 different things.

Chan understands, mannnn… I’ve yet to hit up a Harold’s where I didn’t have to wait. My former favorite Harold’s was down Western and both cash and chicken were exchanged from behind bulletproof glass. This location is wide open with plenty of seating. I’ve never had them mess up an order or be unfriendly to me. Sauce is sensational and I believe they still fry their chicken in lard. My favorite place for wings, saucy fries and dat tasty white bread at the bottom to soak up the grease… mmm mmm. Yes, you may occasionally find a feather, but whatever… I’ll still throw down on some wings. Dig their slaw, but wish they had more sweets available because the sweet potato pie and banana pudding I got at the now closed location were off the chain! If you phone ahead, there will still be a wait, but it’s significantly less. When that chicken finally comes, Dayum! So good. I have to keep my visits to no more than 3 times a year because I enjoy having a waistline. Expect a «We Out» and possibly an offer to purchase some bootleg DVD’s or pork chops from someone strolling in. Just adds to the experience. Keep it breezy, Baby, and enjoy.

Let me start off by saying I am a fan of Harold’s Chicken… I will NEVER eat at this Location again… The employees(Could have been the owners) refused to correct my order, and had the nerve to act as if they prepared the food the way I ordered it… Let me tell you my first impression of this new location was good… –They had TV’s –Ample Seating and you could sit and eat your food –No long lines — so didn’t have to wait long to order… Now here is the deal — when you go to Harold’s you know you have to be very specific with your instructions or your order will not be right… so I know better than to place my order without asking them to repeat back my order and making sure they have it right… I also always eat at the Harold’s I like my Fries cooked hard, and I don’t like waiting to eat them because they will be soggy… In addition I like my Chicken«cooked hard» too… The one good thing they brag about at this location is that all food is «made to order», so expect to wait 15−25min…That fine… but that means you better make the order RIGHT the first time… If you’re like me and don’t live near a Harold’s Chicken, and only eat it every so often, when you know you are going to be near a Harold’s — you look forward to eating your Harold’s Chicken… and they I visited this Harold’s it was no different, and matter of fact I hadn’t eaten since breakfast so I could really savor my Fix of Harold’s Chicken… I unfortunately was in for a very unfortunate incident which is a No-No in my books… In Business it costs 5x-10x to get a new customer, and it is so much easier to keep a good loyal customer coming back, and raving about your business… unfortunately this was not the case at this Harold’s Chicken… After double checking my order with the cashier and waiting patiently for my order… my Chicken was not«Fried Hard”(Well Done) as I had asked… not to mention the Fries– I love my fries cook hard and order extra mild sauce on the side to savor the fries even more… Well this location must not use the same fries at the other locations– These Fries were HORRIBLE… I couldn’t eat them– they were fried hard as I ask, but the taste was TERRIBLE… maybe they fried them in different grease… Oh when I mentioned this to the Location Manager — they looked at me like, «What do you want me to do», and the cook, said, «I cooked it like you ordered it»…and when I looked at them and said, «I will not come back to this location ever again», they looks as if they didn’t care… I will NEVERBEBACKTOTHISLOCATION… I guess there was a reason there was no line and the location had plenty of seating… if they keep treating customers how they treated me– they will be going out of business like the Fat Burger Restaurant that use to occupy this store front… As a business person, I am going to go out on a limb– they will be out of business by Summer 2016… this kind of service will not last, especially in Beverly of all places in Chicago…

Where’s the sauce ordered a bucket of chicken and couldn’t get sauce on all the chicken or a side of sauce. And the food was not right but the sauce is a drug

The secret to enjoying Harolds is being realistic about your expectations. If you grew up on Harolds like i did you know you don’t go to Harolds for the customer service; that’s secondary. Harolds has always been in working-class communities, staffed by the working-class. They are not going to have the same customer service training as national franchisees such as Popeys or KFC. So, a few things to keep in mind to Harolds novices are… 1. The customer service will always be lacking; that’s part of the experience. 2. The wait time will be about 10 minutes because its made-to-order. Now that I’ve explained the disclaimer I can get to the 4star review. I moved out of the city years ago. I wanted my son to enjoy one of my childhood favs. Haorlds did not disappoint. The chicken is piping hot; burned my fingers. the fries were just as i remembered, the small tasting of cole slaw was delish and you can’t have Harolds without the slightly smooshed white bread that sits at the bottom of the plate. Oh, my god it was so good. I don’t get to the SS often but this was a heavenly nostagic experience. It was down– home good. Even though this is a newer Harolds, its still a community hang out. the playoffs were on, a group of men were having some kind of community activism meeting, and the church women were at another table with their grandchildren. I love the food and the relaxed community atmosphere.

The worse customer service ever. I walked out without placing my order after encountering the cashier.
