The good: clean room, friendly staff, decent price, part of the Hilton Honors program and a free breakfast.
The bad: the location of the hotel is next to the fire station. I should have know something was up when I saw a sign saying to get ear plugs at the front desk.

Stayed here for a full week for a conference, and they took great care of me. Yaneli and the whole crew definitely makes you feel welcome day and night. Breakfast was a bit better than the normal Hampton fare, and even with the noise of the city, I slept like a baby each night. You can’t beat the location, with tons of great restaurants and bars all around the hotel. With everything sold out or $ 300+, this really is a great value and I’ll aim to stay here next time I come back.

This is a beautiful location. Right in the River North Area. I love it. It is def a good deal for the money. I don’t often rent rooms since I live in the city, but sometimes you need a little change. I’m not sure you can find a better price in this area. We got a nice view of downtown. The man at the counter was a real champ. He put up with my drunken banter with a smile. I have to admit I’m a handful when I’ve been drinking, he played along well.
The room is big, the bed was big. Everything was clean when we came in. The only thing I can really comment on is the placement of the coffee machine. 99% of time I use the coffee machine in the room. I wouldn’t here. It’s because they place it on the bottom shelf under the sink in the bathroom. completely uncovered, The cups are there too. I just don’t feel comfortable drinking from a cup that is less than 3 feet away from an industrial toilet. Honestly, I wouldn’t feel comfortable drinking coffee from a bathroom period. That’s the only reason I take away a star. You’d think that would be a given.

The breakfast room is great, a good selection of items to choose from while we stayed there last week. Be wary of Internet choice, my mom is a Hilton honor member so we used her PIN number to get the net open, told now they just use att wifi which worked, however I think they don’t like Safari that much. The room was great a nice suite, clean and very comfortable, one draw back is you are near a very busy fire station so ask at the front desk for ear plugs if you can’t stand sirens at the middle of the night.
Staff is very friendly there and will make your stay enjoyable, near some good places to shop and eat, and couple blocks from Navy Pier.

Hampton is probably the best bargain for your money in downtown Chicago. I was here for 2 nights and I enjoyed every minute of it. The location is great. You’re 3 blocks from the Chicago River, House of Blues and other places of interest. You’re also within a short walk to Michigan Ave and all the shopping.
My hotel room was very clean, quiet and pleasant. I didn’t have a chance to use the hotel swimming pool, but it seemed to be a popular destination with other guests.
One of the best features of the hotel is the attached restaurant/​bar, Joe Fish! You will love their seafood and beverages. The hotel staff is very friendly and will gladly help you with places to see.
Parking: I noticed they have valet.

Fantastic location. If you’ve stayed at a lot of Hampton Inn’s, you’ll find this is a few steps above most of them. It’s got a great and helpful staff, very good rooms, a great breakfast area with lots of space and a good selection, and an expansive lobby with lots of wood paneling, looks like a hotel you would see in Copenhagen…
You’re just a short walk from the Magnificent Mile, and the cab stand out front is quite efficient, so no worries there. Of course there are dozens of great restaurants in the surrounding blocks so that’s fantastic as well. Overall a great choice.

Hands down, this is the BEST hotel experience I’ve ever had.
The staff was courteous, helpful, friendly, accommodating, etc. The list goes on and on. If you can think of how you would WANT your hotel’s staff to beahave, this staff DOES it.
Exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Great amenities.

Stayed here twice in one week with my family. The first visit was planned. All was as advertised – large suite with sleeping room for six, free breakfast, decent wifi and TV options, and a prime location for Navy Pier, river tours, good restaurants, etc. I’d give that stay four stars.
The second stay was unplanned, but earned this hotel and staff FIVE stars. We left town and returned a few days later with reservations at a different, non-​chain hotel farther south, and it was a disaster (but that’s for another not-​so-​kind review!). I called the Hampton at 11pm and they had a room for us on short notice (with no price gouging), so we left the bad hotel, drove back here, checked in, and were snuggled in by 11:30pm. They even stocked our room with extra towels! Absolutely great customer service late at night, and for that, they get five stars.
(P.s.-As for the fire station, it didn’t bother us. In fact, it may have been the highlight of the trip for our 3-​yr old who loves fire engines, etc. We stopped by the station while walking down the street for Lou Malnati’s Pizza and he couldn’t stop talking about it!)

Nice hotel at a reasonable rate within walking distance of several great restaurants and many of the local tourist attractions. My room was generally clean and smelled fresh (bathroom floor was a bit gross in the corners). And, I was pleased that the room was quiet despite the potential for city noise. While I didn’t make a visit, I also liked that Joe Fish is connected if you want to get a drink or something to eat.

We went for Memorial Day weekend. Only bad review is that there where to many kids. And there where to loud. But other than that. The stay was average.
The front desk staff where pretty cool. Josh and Peter gave us recommendations of places to check out for dinner. Thank you guys.

Super nice, everything you’d need and walking distance to all the Chicago musts. Great location. A little high $$, but hey that’s Chicago. Nice gym & pool. A little noisy, but they offer free ear plugs. Would stay here again.

Lots of fire station complaints on here but most still give 3 and 4 stars for a reason. Everything else is too good. Wasn’t suppose to check in until 4pm but I got there at 11:45am and they let me go ahead. Huge. By the way, you’ll be scared when you first hear the fire truck but once you here it the third and fourth time, you won’t hear it again since you’ll be use to it. You’re in the heart of downtown Chicago, you’ll here one every 5 minutes no matter where you are. Enjoy.

I recently stayed here with two others during our visit to Chicago. It’s located downtown, next to a fire station which wasn’t too bad. It’s also walking distance to a lot of good places to eat like Lou Malati’s and Xoco.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in before their check in time. Our room was on the small side but it was clean.
This would be a great place for families on vacation because of the free breakfast in the mornings. The food at breakfast is hit or miss but I did like making my own waffles in the morning. The gym and pool area was pretty small but well utilized by the hotel guests.

This is an OK hotel. I’ve stayed at many others in the Downtown Chicago area and around the states as travel is a part of my job. The free breakfast is ok, not amazing but there are options. The rooms are ok, but if you’re not from a city you might find this hotel loud and hard to sleep in. There is a fire station right next to the hotel so all night you will here the sirens. Also, the hotel room doors all slam shut.
The internet, there’s a free option but it is literally the slowest I’ve ever experienced. It’s not a one time thing as I’ve stayed here multiple times. I could pay $ 5 for better but the last time I was here and I did that it was still literally awful. I called the front desk to complain and they didn’t credit me the money for the internet but gave me access to their second tier complimentary access and that was better than the paid!
So I am here again, but it’s my fault as I was unable to get a few minutes to change my reservation for this week (I’ve been travelling week to week).
So, it you have real work you need to do from the hotel on wifi and you’re not a gold or platinum member… Stay somewhere else where you can connect to the internet and get work done. (If you just need to email then you are ok.) But any applications work that you may need to connect to or streaming ANY type of media… you’re just going to be frustrated… Stay somewhere else. If you’re here for the weekend and sightseeing and don’t need to work. Then yes you’ll be happy

Pros: Super comfortable beds, clean large rooms, and helpful staff. Cons: location is on the same street as a fire station so it got a little loud at times (the front desk does offer ear plugs, but honestly, the fire engines and street noise didn’t bother me), and the free breakfast is lack-​luster and lacks fresh options. Overall, I definitely recommend. It’s conveniently located within walking distance to everything.

I saw the pictures online and I knew it was going to be a nice size room but it was bigger than I expected. I was only here for one night and I wish I’d have stayed longer. As far as the noise goes, it wasn’t as bad as a lot of people wrote. I feel it added to the experience instead of taking away. The staff was very friendly and catered to all of my needs. I will definitely be coming again. Great hotel!

First, the ok part. Pleasant clean room. That’s it.
Breakfast is average and the environment for breakfast is awful. Reason? Guests coming to eat the breakfast in their pajamas. It is disgusting to have to watch this. Complained to the front desk, told that as long as they wear shoes its ok. Whaaaaaat? I sleep in my pajamas; I don’t go to a restaurant and eat wearing them. I guess you could hang out in the lobby all day wearing your PJs doing whatever you wish. The response to my complaint was ridiculous. Customer service at the front desk is obviously under par. We skipped breakfast for the rest of the stay. I will NEVER stay there again.

A quick update: I requested changing my room at least three times due to noise and not having a king bed. The requests were denied every time. On Friday a large family with bunch of kids got two rooms next to mine, the noise was unbearable so I asked for changing my room again. After a good 45 minutes arguing and waiting, the manager was finally called. They all argued that they were sold out, but after I insisted I am not sleeping in that room she was magically able to put me in a different one with king bed. So thanks Samantha for making my last three days at your hotel bearable. And Alex, an advice from a customer: listen and improve instead of giving your biased «unbiased opinion.» Successful business are the ones that believe the customer is always right.

I stayed here for 1 night (Friday) and had a good experience. The location is wonderful and in the heart of downtown. You can walk to tons of restaurants, bars, CTA (1 block away), markets, and shops. Not to mention, Eataly is a couple blocks away. The room was a decent size and had a large bathroom. I had all my favorite cable channels and there’s free hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, etc). The only bad thing is this hotel is located right next to the firehouse. I heard it in the middle of the night and it was loud. If you plan to stay for many nights or have a baby with you, I’d go to another hotel. The price was average for this location. We paid about $ 200 for 1 night.

5-​Stars, even with the Firehouse. Look, we knew about the Chicago FD next door – we believe it adds flair and appreciation to those who keep us safe.
Great location to enjoy Chicago. The valet parking is a little pricey; however, everyone at this hotel makes us feel welcomed.
