Went originally because my friend recommended Jess to me. She’s AMAZING, and I thought my 23-​year search for a decent haircut had finally reached an end.
Unfortunately, Jess left two months later.
Saw a different stylist because the salon offered me a discount. She hacked my hair to shreds and I will not be coming back.
Oh well, the search begins again…

I have been looking for a great haircut place for few months now and each and everyone I have tried has not worked out. I am very happy to say that this place is really great. It is a little pricey but the staff are super nice and really try to help you get the right haircut! I will be coming here very often for my haircuts!

Went for an eyebrow wax and was super impressed with the facility… It’s a great vibe and I think for what you get, the price point is good. I wasn’t happy with the wax, but will likely give it a second try. Will definitely check out a haircut.

Best haircut ever! The man style is awesome! Staff is amazing!!! Chantal (kill me later if I misspelled that) is the best desk lady! And if you’re worth anything request FRANKIE!!! She is an artist with clippers!

As a male, finding a good spot for a haircut can be a challenge. Halo For Men offers a nice waiting area with extremely comfortable chairs and a TV that seems to normally be tuned to ESPN. The girls cutting hair are all extremely nice, and there are small TVs located at the cutting stations. Make sure to get the hand wax, it’s awesome, plus they massage it off your hands.

What a wonderful haircut experience! My fiancé related to me that maybe, quite possibly, it would be a good idea that I get my scraggly hair cut prior to us going out on New Year’s Eve. So– I make an appointment at Halo for men– on Diversey. This is a bumpin’ area and I saw the place before. So I figured why not. I called and set up an appt. for a service they call «the man.» I show up– they take my jacket, a woman named Nina greets me with a hello and a smile (which is not always on the
Menu at many of these places), and I am introduced to Ashley. I tell her I want something new with my hair, as my haircut has pretty much been standard ever since I can remember. First, I am taken to get shampooed. She brings me over and puts each of my hands in this wax stuff and covers them up w/​plastic. Weird to me, but hey, felt pretty good. Then my hair is washed, standard scalp massage, and finish up with a hand massage. Not bad so far. Next, the haircut. (Which after everything, doesn’t really even matter to me at this point). Ashley gave me a wonderful cut, best I’d ever had, and actually taught me a lot about my hair and styling in general. The atmosphere is cool, everyone was really nice, and the final product definitely delivered. I would recommend this place to any guy that wants a calming atmosphere– and wishes to try something new with their do. I going back there– and I think you should try it as well.

This place is incredible! The service and the Hair cut are just incredible. You must visit. If you want to get a good haircut and massage as well as a clean and condition both before and after your cut. It simply doesn’t get better than this.

Anisha is the truth! Been going to her for years & will never switch. I get compliments on my hair all the time & I always tell them it’s thanks to Anisha at Halo.
It is little bit pricey ($ 50 for their signature service), but I actually did the math & it works out to be about the same for me compared to a $ 20 – 30 range place; it’s the two week touch-​up really does help here. With my hairstyle & the touch-​up, I can stretch a haircut to as long as 6 – 7 weeks. At a $ 20 – 30 salon (no touch up), I’d have to go back every 3 – 4.
The hand wax, hot towel, and scalp/​hand massage is a plus, too. Just the right little bit of pampering I need!

A great looking hair cut plus at two weeks your touch up is basically another hair cut so a two for one! A true experience and a must for any man!

Not worth it. You can get the exact same hair cut, or better, for more than half the price. I don’t recommend this place nor would I go back.

I really enjoy Halo Men, their staff is literally the first cut (pun intended).
I would give Halo a 5, but I feel that the prices (post raises) have gone to a little bit of an astronomical/​crazy level. I do enjoy a quality and consistent trimming, their staff friendliness, and the extra services each time that I go– but for the now $ 50 standard cut its a bill I am not willing to foot every 5 – 6 weeks like I would like to.
Admittedly my simple style is much less than someone with long and luscious locks, but this is one of the few places I would go a few days before an important event and not worry that my hair would be a true hack… With price alone, this place gets 3 stars. But because of Anisha, I want to give it a 5. She is literally the best, and if she leaves Halo Men ever– I will too. I would imagine most of her customers would…
So– yes go there if you dont mind spending a little coin– ask for Anisha.

I’m normally pretty cheap when it comes to getting my hair cut. I have an affinity to somewhere like Great Clips because i genuinely didn’t want to pay more than $ 12 to get a trim. Well since my hair was last hacked to shreds by the Great Clips factory machine of ‘stylists’ i thought enough was enough and looked around for something that caters to guys rather than a quick cut.
Reading a few reviews here i signed up to give it a try. My stylist Alyssa was great, she did a great job at taking on board what i was looking for and suggesting improvements. I ended up getting ‘The Man’, i do think the spa treatment thing is a bit over the top, but after a long week was worth it just to chill out and relax.
Very happy with the service and love the idea of a free top up trim within the following 2 weeks to keep it going. There was no hard sell from these guys which means a lot, customer service in all these places are key and i think Halo hit the nail on the head.

Halo has always provided me with average service. The salon is inviting and very comfortable in every way. Their stylists were friendly and nice to chat with.
For several months, I came back here for each haircut but over time I couldn’t justify the $ 60 I was investing in each service. While none of the cuts were bad — I didn’t feel that I was getting the best haircut possible.
For the last 6 years, I have been looking for one stylist who can cut my hair well and consistently. I am willing to travel and pay for this. Unfortunately after trying many of the stylists at this location, I didn’t see any prospects for continuing business.
I see Swagger has received decent reviews and I will give them a try.

This doesn’t seem like a place that takes care of their employees who go out of their way to give good haircuts. In addition, the prices are way over the top, some of the services aren’t necessary, and it’s really hard to schedule an appointment last-​minute if you need it. Go somewhere else and save yourself an extra $ 25 for a rainy day.

The haircut was technically very good as Rhea spent a lot of time and paid great attention to detail. Most of this review is for the rest of the experience.
I honestly felt uncomfortable with the whole «man» atmosphere they tried to create. Enough is enough – sports on TV, leather chairs in the waiting area, overwhelming brown color everywhere…
And the forced conversation! As if every male loves sports, hangs out at bars, and partakes in other extraverted activities… although based on their clientele, I can understand why the stylists believe this to be the case.
The whole thing just felt superficial. I almost feel bad that the stylists are asked to pretend to be oh-​so-​interested in a manly man’s life while they’re cutting his frat boy hair.
As a side note, if I were to return (which I don’t plan to), I would pass on the paraffin hand wax. I highly doubt that they changed the wax since the previous customer used it :/

100% tip on their signature haircut special… Mainly because it was summer, I was in a decent mood, and Anisha always does a BOMB haircut. Every time, without fail. I feel like I change up my haircut depending on whether it’s riding season, winter (or if I need to be interviewing the next few weeks).
Every time I just give her a simple explanation of what I’m looking for, and she follows through perfectly. I would hands-​down recommend to anyone. I also do appreciate the pre-​haircut routine that they do.
Been meaning to check out some of the items that they have through Sebastien Grey Clothiers; they have a tie that looked pretty boss, I’ll probably go back and buy it sometime next week or the week after (when I go to get my follow-​up cut). I’ve been going here since I moved into the neighborhood last year, and I’m pretty certain I won’t be going anywhere else for a while.
**I would also recommend that you sign up for their rewards program, and get your cuts during the lunchtime for double points!

A great place to get haircuts — I’ve been going here for the last 4 – 5 months now since moving to the city. I’ve had a number of stylists so far (Rhea is my usual go-​to, so feel free to ask for her) and they have all been solid. I usually just call same day because I like to procrastinate about haircuts.
I’ll say that the only reason I don’t give Halo 5 stars is because of the cost — $ 50 + tip for the haircut is really pricey. You do get a parafin hand wax and hand massage, so it may be worth it to you. The haircuts have been great so far, so I will keep shelling out to come here!

Five star service, great cuts, fun environment. The cut may be a little pricey (49) but it comes with a free touch up two weeks after your appointment. So its basically two haircuta for 49.
Ask for Cate. She’s an amazing stylist and fun to hang out with. Top notch!

If your not looking for attention to detail and a place that leaves you with the feeling that your worth $ 1,000,000 then this is most definitely not the place for you.
The place is is like a man cave with serious amounts of swag. Being the first time I have ever been to a Halo for Men, I must say that it will not be the last, especially if all the Halo for Men were as pleasant as Ashely was.
Getting «The Man» service was executed very well by Ashely. She made the whole experience as easy going far beyond what I expected. Ashely made it very easy to converse with her, so there were really no awkward silent moments. And of course her scissor cut skills were awesome, even on really really short hair.

Halo is absolutely fantastic. I’ve been going for about 5 years and I highly recommend it.
I work as an illustrator and graphic designer and at the end of the day I often have tightness in my hands. Halo allows for me to not only get a good haircut but I also get a nice hand massage that works out the kinks in my hands.
I’ve have had cuts from Michelle and Danielle and they are both wonderful and I highly recommend them.
