This man is the greatest! Extremely talented. State of the art. Might be a bit on the pricy side, but he does what is best and most comfortable for his patients. As I have said over and over, you get what you pay for and dental work is not the place to scrimp. He is painless! I simply could not recommend any dentist more highly!

Dr. Wittmus is an amazing dentist who genuinely cares about his patients and their dental health. He is professional and makes your experience at his office comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr. Wittmus and his wonderful staff!

Amazing dentist. Very thorough, took the time to go through a variety of options and outcomes that really gave me a full awareness of what was happening as a patient, as opposed to being told i need this or that.

Really, Mary B? Are you sure you went to Dr. Wittmus and not someone else? He would never provide service like that. If anything bothers you the least bit, he helps you. He extracted one of my wisdom teeth and even called me to see how it was healing up the next day. He is the friendliest guy ever and tries his hardest to get you the best prices and services. I live in Roselle (after moving out of Chicago) and still travel to Chicago to receive services from him. I am doing invisalign through him and come to him every 6 weeks and he’s always smiling and has a lot of energy. Children even love him and that’s not easy to come by. I’m an observative person and he treats everyone the same and that’s with greatness and respect. Unfortunately dental services are expensive all around if you do not have any form of coverage. I know, because I didn’t have any for a few years with my last job.
I don’t understand how Mary B had reviews for dentists in that area and gave them all 1 star. I clicked on each dental office she reviewed and everyone other than her had terrific reviews for the other dentists as well. She’s either a whiny complainer or just trying to hurt people’s businesses in the area.

I used to dread coming to the the dentist, that’s probably why I haven’t been to one in such a long time. After one visit with Dr. Wittmus, I was actually excited to go back. Very satisfied with the service, great advise on how to care for my teeth, great recommendations on products I should use.
The staff are great, love’em, The Dr. Is awesome.
I would definitely recommend this dentist to others.

This place is awesome and Unilocaler Mary B is a liar, a cheat, and nobody likes her. She gave all the dentists a one star review in the area. Dont be a one toothed loser like Mary B and invest in your teeth here.

Terrible!
Pompous, and recommended so many (turns out) unneeded expensive procedures, my bill would have been $ 10,000!!!
Then, he screwed up the filling I came in for and I had to have it redone by someone else!!! After I got the infection he caused fixed

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Everyone at Grateful Dental was fantastic. I would consider myself a stickler when it comes to expecting the best customer service, everywhere I go. I got just that. I received a reminder phone call about my upcoming appointment. When I arrived I saw this quaint little office. Plenty of street parking and CTA accessible. I was greeted and they were expecting me, sweet! In no time, I was sitting in the dentists chair and getting the process started. I got a teeth cleaning with someone other than Dr. Wittmus and she was amazing. She was gentle, explained everything she was doing, and keeping me updated. It was painless and my mouth feels like a million dollar smile. After my check up, Dr. Wittmus himself checked me out and took his time to talk to me about gum health and his plan for me. How kind of him. I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I even got a goodie bag! HOORAY. See you guys in August!

When I moved back to town 14 years ago, I tried a few dentists before a friend recommended Dr. Wittmus. He knows what he’s doing and I have been really happy with his continued service for the past 10 years. He is a really nice guy too. The staff is terrific.

Have to give Dr. Wittmus 5 stars. On my first visit, he came out into the waiting room and introduced himself. I got a follow up letter after my first visit, which was a nice touch. All of his staff was friendly and accommodating.
A good friend of mine recommended Grateful Dental to me, as I have some apprehension about going to the dentist. I had a great one growing up, which set the bar really high. However, I had some not-​so-​great dentist experiences since then.
I have a follow up appointment to have a filling replaced, and I feel absolutely no anxiety or trepidation about this upcoming appointment whatsoever. I am confident that I am in good hands.

I used to go to many different dentist because I never found one that I really liked. But my boyfriend suggested I go to his family dentist (his family has been going there for over 7 years) and I couldn’t be more happy. The staff are all very pleasant and welcoming. Dr. Wittmus made me feel comfortable and was able to understand my concerns and answer all of my questions. He takes great care of every patient that comes in. Once he was working on someone and it went longer so I had to wait a few extra minutes and he gave me free samples of the new 3D whitening tooth paste, it might not seem like a lot but the fact that he went out of his way to make up for the wait made a huge difference. I highly recommend Grateful Dental you will love the staff and Dr. Wittmus. Out of every dentist I’ve ever been to this is the best and I will be going here for a long time.

I couldn’t be happier with the care and expertise I receive as a patient of Grateful Dental. I found Dr. Wittmus online through his website and was impressed with his credentials, teaching, and volunteer work. He is the best dentist I have ever had– extremely knowledgeable, caring, and respectful.
The office is has convenient street parking which I have always been able to find a spot right in front. They use up to date equipment and technology, which says to me that they care about giving the best treatment to their patients.
His office staff is always kind and courteous in their care, and they do whatever they can to make billing my insurance super easy.
I am very happy with the professional advice and care that I have received over the past several years as a patient of their practice, and I would 100% recommend them!

I’ve travelled 100 miles round trip to see Dr Wittmus for 20 years. He knows his craft and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. He makes it his job to see that most of my visits are for check ups. I’ve had every imaginable type of work done, always with great results and manageable costs. One more thing. Does your dentist call you at home to check in on you? Dr Wittmus does it regularly. I’ll keep driving 2 hours to see someone who looks out for my teeth and my general health… every day of the week!

Dr. Wittmus and his staff are great! After a couple of days of wisdom tooth pain, they were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule and do a painless tooth extraction. Not only did they save me a lot of money which I would have spent at the oral surgeon, but their staff was very accommodating and sweet. I also found out they have a lot of specials including free teeth bleaching for brides!!! So now I can be confident that my wedding pictures will be beautiful. I highly recommend Dr. Wittmus and his staff.

Dr Wittmus is extremely knowledgeable about his profession. You can ask him any question and he can answer it with confidence and explain it simple terms so you can walk away with an understanding.
Dr Jeff always seems to have the latest technology. I have to wear a mouth guard for my TMJ. In the past he had to send out the mold of my teeth to make my mouth guard costumed for me. Now he has a machine of little robots making the molds in his own office. This is a plus because this saves on time and money. They integrated the paper files to a computer system they can automatically can look-​up your history while your sitting right in a chair and look at your X-​Rays at the same time. This says to me he and his staff is up to date on the latest treatments and procedures.
We sent our family from Ukraine to receive extensive dental work. We were very pleased with his work. My family from Ukraine were very pleased on how at ease they felt and how painless it was.
His staff are very polite and treat you like a long time friend coming over to visit. They make sure to give you friendly reminders of your appointments and answer questions you need answered.
Overall, Dr Jeff is like an extended part of our family and treat us like one in return. You can tell he loves his job and it shows in his work. My family and I completely trust him with our dental care. I highly recommend him!

Dr. J and staff are absolutely awesome. After a weekend of extreme pain and consideration of a trip to County (God forbid), a friend recommended I call his office. They set me up with an appointment that day and I ended up with two painless root canals the next. I cannot possibly offer a better dentistry. Friendly and cozy, tucked away on the NW side, they’re definitely worth the trip. Can’t wait for my next appointment.

Grateful Dental is top notch! I had not been to the dentist for years. A tooth cracked & I had a wake up call. My friend referred me to Dr. Wittmus & I’m so glad he did! There is a warm, comfortable, homey environment & all of the staff is warm, friendly and down to earth. I felt a t ease the whole time & did not feel ashamed for neglecting my teeth for so long. I had neglected my teeth for awhile and upon a friends recomendation I came here. I couldn’t have found a more perfect dentist. I felt comforted, always get encouraged with progress and never made to feel guilty for neglecting my teeth. An appiontment always seems like a visit with friends with the professionalism you would expect from skilled craftsmen. They make it easy to not be afraid of your teeth. The cost is unbelievably reasonable, usually the cost of one night out on the town. So stay in one night and treat your teeth right, Dr. Wttmus is your guy.

Dr. Witt was the first dentist I had after my «kid dentist». My mom met him through a friend and liked his personality so she started seeing him. She hates going to the dentist, but she loved Dr. Witt. I started going to him and my husband likes him too. Everything he uses is high-​tech (at least, compared to my old dentist) and he is awesome. At the end of the cleaning/​checkup he gives his patient a hot wet napkin to clean up.
