Global Handmade Hope is a wholesale & retail company with an online store. We carry beautiful, sustainably-​produced items from around the world, including coffee, chocolate, tea, accessories, home décor items and kids’ toys. We are located at 6700 N. Northwest Hwy. Chicago, IL.

Fair Trade is a social and economic system of development that indicates producers are being paid a living wage, are organized democratically, have gender equality and that the environment is protected.

History

Established in 2009.

Global Handmade Hope opened its doors in 2009 after owner Cynthia Glensgard visited Rwanda with the mission group.

Global Handmade Hope offers artisans around the world, including social enterprises in the US and local artists, an opportunity to sell their fairly produced food, décor items, accessories and gifts. With the wages earned from their products, these farmers, artisans and producers can feed their families and help sustain their communities.

Business Owner

Cynthia opened Global Handmade Hope, a fair trade wholesale and retail company in Park Ridge, IL in November of 2009 after she went on a mission trip to Rwanda. She believes consumers have the ability to change the way business is conducted and the way people are treated. Working together and through the fair trade business model we can break the cycle of poverty and make a difference in the world.
