Solid choice if you’re looking for something fairly quick and affordable. I tried the chicken breast teriyaki plate with white rice, sesame dressing for the salad, and wok-sauteed veggies. Everything was good, and was completely consumed, except for the veggies. They tasted like they were cooked in orange juice, which just doesn’t work for me. Otherwise, I liked this place and would definitely go back. Good service as well.

Cool environment, but I could barely fit in between the tables. Staff is pretty cool as well. However, I tried the chicken teriyaki and it was really really bland. Did I mention it was bland? A little disappointing, but the portion was pretty big. Will I come back? Probably not.

Glaze teriyaki is a cute lovely place. They have different meat you can choose from to go with either brown rice, white rice, or salad. In another word, it is like Chipotle but just teriyaki. Their teriyaki sauce was really good, I had grilled salmon and beef combo. The price is reasonable and the food is tasty. This was my second time at Glaze and I’ll definitely be going back. Two things that I would love to add to Glaze is hot tea and miso soup. These two would be perfect to have with teriyaki bowl on the cold day.

Awesome new(ish) fast casual Teriyaki place on Broadway. Very simple concept of their bowl but really good stuff. Takes a little longer than something like Chipolte but I’d go here over nearby fast casual restaurants 10 times out of 10. Also BYOB.

If you thought that a place that has the word«teriyaki» in the name, would have sauce that tastes better than the stuff that you buy at the grocery store in a plastic bottle then you would be wrong. In my opinion, the sauce is really bland and overly sweet. Its not bad per say, but its also just not very good. The chicken wasn’t much better. I think that they tried to balance out the overly sweet sauce by making the chicken super salty. Next time I am craving teriyaki chicken, I’ll either go to an actual Asian restaurant or any of the other much better Asian fusion restaurant in the Lakeview east neighborhood(i.e., Crisp). Disclaimer: This review is based on an Über EATS order of the chicken teriyaki bowl.

Quick delivery in my area, yay! and decent teriyaki, i think i expected a little more based on the other Unilocal reviews and some of the amazing pictures. Perhaps its better to dine in? Chicken and Salmon teriyaki’s with brown rice and carrot ginger dressing for the small lettuce side salad — all components were well cooked, however the teriyaki sauce was a little too sweet and thick for my taste, the side salad was almost non-existent so what was the point of even adding it otherwise they could of added a little more then 2 bites of it. Pork gyoza, cold soba salad and spicy korean style chicken wings(which weren’t really spicy) were pretty standard. Overall I’m happy that this is a delivery option for me when in my teriyaki mood ;-)

Why have I waited this long to come here? This place is so good. I guess I have to thank my friend for bringing it to me one time. I could eat the steak and salmon every single day for the rest of my life and be happy. Ever since that day, I’ve been hooked. I eat it every single time its on UberEats.

I like this place. The salmon is great. It’s fast, cheap and I really like the design of the place. I’ve taken a couple of people here, and they didn’t like the food as much as I did.

I really like going to Glaze — it’s definitely a very reasonable amount of food for the price, and I usually opt for the combo plate with salmon/tofu and brown rice. The tofu is not the best tofu that I’ve ever had, but the salmon is great! It’s a bit of a smaller portion size — if you’re going for quantity of protein, definitely opt for the chicken, as it’s by far the biggest. Overall, it’s a great place to sit and eat. I usually go by myself and bring a book with me, curl up in a corner with my teriyaki bowl and read. It’s honestly very relaxing!

What an amazing addition to the Lakeview East community! Staff is incredibly nice, food tastes fresh(I mean, REALLY fresh), has amazing flavor, and isn’t breaking the bank. I believe there are even some vegan and/or vegetarian options as well. You’ll probably want a to-go box if you’re like me and can’t finish a huge bowl in one sitting. They give you so much food for what you pay for, so go in when you’re feeling really hungry so you can eat it all while contemplating on desert. However if you do decide to get desert, their rice pudding is a great way to end your meal. I’m not even a rice pudding fan(I mean who is? rice pudding sounds gross man!), but it’s SOGOOD. I’ve been back maybe 4 times since it first opened a month or two ago. Obsessed? Let’s not name call. Just trust me, and thank me later.

Just moved from the northeast and stumbled upon this place… LOVEIT — I’m usually not one for over sauced or over cooked teriyaki but this one was just right! The salad was fresh and the salmon and tofu were cooked perfectly! The ambiance was retro yet cozy. 5 stars for quality of food, ambiance, quantity, price, and overall cleanliness. I will definitely be coming back for sit down or take out.

By far the best place in Chicago for Teriyaki! I enjoyed my salmon along with the sesame salad. Highly recommend getting a combo!

Summary: Great interior design, friendly service but when it comes to the food if you’re going to be a one-trick-pony, you better make sure that it’s a really good trick. The updated styling of this location is fantastic — the high ceiling with wood beams, urban rustic type of seating with a few Japanese elements embedded — really enjoyed for a nice, casual lunch.(4.5 stars) Person helping us order and check-out was friendly and explained the concept.(3.5 stars) The food is where things fell down a bit — the whole concept of the restaurant is teriyaki bowls where you pick a protein and a rice type(then they come with a side salad where you pick the dressing). That’s it. That’s the menu(except for a couple small side options). It was filling, but I didn’t love the flavor of the teriyaki sauce which is really what the whole place is centered around. Also had the gyoza which were average.(2 stars)

Overall: Fresh, filling, and tasty. An easy place to recommend for a nice lunch. The good: The glaze is very tasty and the bowls are quite filling. Plenty of rice and veggies. The food was fresh and hot. The service was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice, clean, has good music, and interesting art. The bad: The sauce, while good, was a tad overwhelming in terms of thickness and amount. A little expensive for a regular lunch option. Atmosphere: 9⁄10 Service: 9⁄10 Food: 8⁄10

Quick and delicious meal? I’m in! Glaze is Chipotle-esque — pick your protein(chicken, beef, salmon, veggies), rice(white or brown) and salad dressing(sesame, carrot-ginger). There’s also some app/side items like shumai, short ribs so the selection is nice. Plus, the Jones soda fountain was a nice touch. I wanted to just stick with the classic chicken breast(w/brown rice and carrot-ginger salad) and my bf got the steak and white rice combo. I also ordered a side of the shrimp shumai to see if it was worth getting again. Our food was fabulous, very fresh and tasty. Great sized portion, too, for the price($ 10 to $ 12). Although the teriyaki sauce was indeed good, I would request lite sauce or sauce on the side next time(just because I don’t really want drenched rice). The décor is awesome at Glaze… this is what caught my eye from the street. The cashier was also really helpful and friendly since we looked confused when we walked in. Fab.

We came in here during lunch yesterday and it was pretty much empty but the cashier still didn’t greet us and did not offer help when we told her it was our first time there. She seemed more annoyed than anything and she rushed us through ordering like she had somewhere to be. The prices were lower than I expected which was great! The décor was also a plus because it was beautiful. Were waiting for our food and other people were getting theres before us even though we had been there first. When we did get the food it looked amazing. We each got the chicken and veggie combo #1. The food tasted okay but the chicken seemed like it had been previously frozen and was gross to be honest. I believe the owner came while we were eating and then suddenly the cashier(rude one) was being so helpful and nice to the other customers which made us even more annoyed because she had been so rude to us. I don’t think I’ll be coming back soon.

What a great addition to Broadway. Simple menu, akin to Chipotle in that you build your dish. Friendly staff who are working well as a slick team. The dishes are like a fancy teriyaki donburi, I a likened it to an upscale Yoshi Noya. It’s BYOB too which is great. The crockery that the food is served it in is typical izakaiya style. The food itself is delicious! Unpretentious and good. At $ 11 for double protein and a side you can’t go wrong. Welcome to Lakeview Glaze Teriyaki.

Man, I had high hopes for this place. But to quote Randy Jackson, «It was just a-ight.» Ordering your food here is a little confusing. You get rice and salad, but decide what gets tossed on top of the rice. You can get chicken, steak, salmon or veggies. If you want two of those, you can pay a little extra. I had steak(plus the included rice and salad) and paid more for the extra spicy sauce. My big problem with Glaze *was* the sauce. It was really thick and sugary. I normally love sauces on my meat, but I didn’t care for the texture here. My steak was also pretty dry. Maybe chicken is better? My girlfriend didn’t like the fact that your protein, rice and salad were all crammed together in the same bowl. If your salad dressing and the protein’s sauce clash, it’ll take some effort to keep them separate. We also ordered the veggie gyoza, which were decent, but probably not worth ordering again. Some of these Unilocal reviews are blasting the staff for rudeness, but I have no idea what they’re talking about. When we visited, everyone was super friendly. Sorry they didn’t give you a reach-around or whatever. They were nice to me. Would I go back to Glaze? Probably. I live right around the corner. I doubt I’ll ever crave it, but if someone else wanted to go, I’d give it another shot.

Went there last night. It’s an awesome menu, fast service and excellent food with generous servings. The staff gets an A+! We got the Teriyaki beef and chicken they were terrific. We also got the wings and the pork rib as starters and both were very good. Our wing order was under cooked and they made us a whole new batch. I loved the pork rib with the sticky rice. The wings were too hot for me but I’m not a wing person.

Whoa. Super. Salty! I got the combo with teriyaki steak and chicken thigh. The meat on its own was sooo salty! Good thing the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce tempered the salty taste, but they can totes ease up. Also, DONOT get the shrimp shumai. It’s store bought, fried, and über mushy inside. I really should’ve known better. The décor is cool with a modern hipster meets Japanese touch. They have Jones pop soda fountain too. I mean, I’ll go back to try the pork ribs and chicken wings. Hopefully I won’t have to down a glass of water after to ease the salt sweats.
