Dr. Moynihan approaches plastic surgery as a means of contributing to his patient’s quality of life by improving their appearance and thus, enhancing their self-​image through facial surgery. He is a double-​board certified Facial Plastic, Reconstructive Surgeon and Otolaryngologist/​ENT. He specializes in rhinoplasty, facelifts, forehead and eyelid lifts, chin implants, otoplasty, lip augmentation, laser procedures, wrinkle fillers and Botox.

History

Established in 2005.

Dr. Moynihan is the founding member and medical director of Gold Coast Plastic Surgery in the heart of downtown Chicago. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and received additional training in cosmetic surgery of the head and neck by completing a prestigious one year fellowship at the Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dr Moynihan is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University. He became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, an exclusive medical honor society, and graduated SUNY Buffalo medical school with cum laude honors.

Following medical school, Dr. Moynihan completed six additional years of surgical training which focused exclusively on the head and neck. Dr. Moynihan is currently a clinical assistant professor at Loyola University Medical Center, as well as, Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Moynihan specializes in plastic surgery of the Face, Nose, Eyes, Neck, and Scalp.

Dr. Moynihan received his medical degree from the Loyola University Medical Center. I had my lips done yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the entire process. It was quick and painless. He’s amazing. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to great results with little to no pain.

This doctor must delete his negative reviews cause my lip fillers were bad. I can’t be the only person who had a negative experience. I came out with the classic duck look and very unnatural looking. Filler was put in unevenly so bottom lip was crooked. I had lumps of filler everywhere that weren’t massaged in. He injected the filler too superficially so I had the blue lumps on bottom lip causing the Tyndall effect. That’s when the product is too close to the surface so light reflects off the filler causing it to look blue. And he mislead me about healing time. He said I’d be back to normal by the next day. Hell NO. It takes a full 2 weeks for your lips to heal. The first week you can’t eat, drink or talk right. I had to drink from a straw for one week. I had to cut up pieces of food small. and eat carefully for 5 days after. I bruised and got swollen. Which is normal but it took a full 2 weeks for it to go away. I gave it 3 stars cause reception is excellent. However I went for the procedure not for the receptionist. But I’m sure this review will be deleted to maintain his image. Not going back. Sloppy work.

I just finished my first visit with Dr. Moynihan. I will echo what everyone else is saying. He has the best bedside manner of all the surgeons I’ve worked with and you can trust him implicitly. It’s as though he knows what you want even if you can’t explain it! The staff is just awesome. They got me in the next day after a cancellation and were so easy to work with. My injections are literally flawless. Go to him.

Simply the best in Chicago. Very skilled at Botox injections and filler and very client service oriented. Always timely, never a wait and his staff is very professional, Normal personality which can be difficult to find in physicians! Always friendly and down to earth.
I highly recommend and continue to see him even though I’ve moved out of town.

Wow… Dr. George Moynihan… Where to start. He changed my life. I have never been so comfortable and confident in my entire life. I had otoplasty done which is a plastic surgery to pin my ears back so they don’t stick out so much. I did a lot of research before I decided to come to Doctor Moynihan and I am so incredibly happy that I did. I chose him because of the amazing information and before and after pictures on their website (where you can now find mine). I waked in that office terrified. Katie was so nice and understanding. Everyone in that office was. They were so responsive every time I had any question or hesitation. They made me feel so comfortable and excited! Once booking the appointment, dr. Moynihan gave me his cell number. His PERSONAL cell phone number. Who does that?!? It was amazing. He read my personality very well and knew that for me to be comfortable I needed a doctor I could joke around with. But he also knew when to be serious and answered my questions until I was satisfied. Once in the operation room (which I stayed awake for the entire time) I had a panic attack on the table. The whole thing started to freak me out! Dr. George stopped everything he was doing to calm me down. Once he started again he talked me through the ENTIRE surgery. He let me just blab about anything and everything so I could ignore the procedure and what was actually going on. The surgery was over in no time. Post surgery: once it was time to take my head wrap off I took pics and sent them to his cell. He told me everything looked amazing and just to remember to take my medicine and clean them:) the recovery was smooth and easy. I AM SO HAPPY. I have never been so happy… I am a new woman. I feel more like me :) I’m no longer afraid to rock the socks off of a pony tail :) I LOVE YOU ALL. Thank you… For changing my world.

Of course, the staff is great.
I went to got some botox in the forehead — mainly for aging stuff. But I also got this done to tame my facial expressions just enough to stop «the thinking face» and «the overly excited» face lol. My face looked pretty stressed and tired. I did tons of research on botox and got to a place where I could express that I don’t want to look like I had anything done (even though I’m telling everybody lol).
I look super natural, and my visits to Starbucks aren’t as upsetting as I believe I don’t look super angry in the morning anymore, but I also don’t look like a cartoon character after the botox. (Kind of funny, but I’m actually serious.) Now I see my crow’s feet. So that’s next now that I feel comfortable with what happened with my forehead.
Dr. Moynihan was super cool and had a nice sense of humor. Great bedside manner. The reason I picked him specifically was because of his before and after rhinoplasty pictures. Those are tough to do — I was so impressed I decided to have him do my botox lol. He’s an artist.
I look forward to seeing more results. I definitely feel a relief that I wasn’t upsold to a Las Vegas showgirl face LOL.

Because I had been wanting rhinoplasty for several years I have always been paying close attention to everyone’s nose. I have seen so many that have obvious signs of poor work. I went to Dr. Moynihan 6 months ago for my rhinoplasty and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. He removed all the imperfections of my nose (bump, crooked, drooping) and now I have the nose I have always wanted, even though I know I still have a few more months to realize all of the results of the surgery. In addition to the great surgical results, his office staff were truly a pleasure to engage with throughout the process. A great surgeon, with a great team, delivering great results.

I had my rhinoplasty done with Dr Moynihan and it was a wonderful experience. I wanted to have my nose done since I was a kid and when I decided to seriously investigate doctors and the procedure, Dr M was heads and shoulders above the rest. He specializes in facial surgery so he goes over the anatomy, the procedure, and individualized expectations in detail. He was open and realistic about results and made me feel so comfortable with moving forward with the surgery.
Dr M was so hands on and invested in providing me with what I was looking for. He called me directly to answer questions and elevate concerns– and to personally check in post op… on a holiday weekend. His whole staff was amazing at getting back to me before and after surgery and thoroughly explaining what to expect. And of course I am so happy with my results. Ive gotten so many compliments on how great and natural my nose looks. If you are contemplating rhinoplasty, Dr Moynihan is the best choice I could have made. I would and will recommend him to anyone who asks.

I have NEVER felt so comfortable and relaxed, in a Doctor/Surgeon’s Office! You are immediately greeted by a LOVELY, WARM, and WONDERFUL Lady! (I so wish I remembered her name… she is delightful! The Office is very clean and pleasant! Then a bubbly, lovely, professional young exuberant lady, (Again, so wish I remembered her name) helps with a photo and (in my case, Juvederm & Botox) assisted, Dr. George T. Moynihan.
Dr. Moynihan is PROFESSIONAL, KIND and COMFORTING… before, during and after my proceedures! He was COMPLETELY CORRECT on my plan on what I wanted and expecting to achieve. I wanted to ‘JUMP’, into a OVER AMOUNT, of Lip and Brow work. He explained, very well, how it would be best, for what I WANTED, to have a natural look. The way he would start with one visit and another later. I was not feeling great when I heard this, HOWEVER, HE IS CORRECT. HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE RECOMMENDED AND WOULD DO… HE IS BRILLIANT! I COULD NOT be HAPPIER! I am going again in a week or two, YEAH! (Normally, Doctors & Surgeons are NOT a person or place I wish to go or see. DR. MOYNIHAN, IS THE BEST IN MY OPINION! NEVER will go ANYWHERE ELSE. OH! I cannot tell you the complements I have had… that is a plus! *wink*!

Completely obsessed with my lips! My friend referred me to Gold Coast Plastic Surgery after getting her lips done (which look amazing, btw) with injectables — specifically Juvederm, a temporary lip filler. I was unsure about it because I HATE needles but I loved the way hers looked and its something I had definitely thought about. I decided to go through with it and when I got to the office they explained everything to me. Asked if I wanted my top, bottom or both lips done. I decided on that and then the doctor told me that if he didn’t use all of the filler that he would be able to save it and use it when I came in to get my lips touched up. They also said that my lips might bruise but that’s normal. He ended up using all of the filler and my lips didn’t bruise at all. It’s supposed to last 6 – 12 months and I can definitely still tell they have filler but I’m excited to go back again ! Extremely happy with the results!

Dr Moynihan did my rhinoplasty and it was the best decision I have ever made. I’m so glad I went to Dr Moynihan for my rhinoplasty, he did a great job and was worth every penny. Do not skimp and be cheap when it comes to your surgeon-​you get what you pay for!
He is such a good doctor! He accomplished everything I asked for! I work in the medical field so I know a good Dr when I see one. His follow through was amazing. First, he stops in the room before surgery to make sure your ok and he goes over the surgery with you so your on the same page before surgery.
He is also considerate and calls the night of surgery and the day after surgery. Also, I had a reaction to the antibiotic on day 3 of post-​op. I had to call the answering service because it was a Sunday at 6am. He called me back within 10 minutes and called in a different antibiotic. To top it off he text me the next day to ask how I was feeling. I work with surgeons and DrMoynihan is a rare gem. Usually doctors do not follow through this much! Dr. Moynihan is a rarity when it comes to surgeons.
I am still swollen from surgery which is normal but I am already pleased and cannot wait to see the final outcome after swelling goes down! I want to end by saying, I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Moynihan! You would be a fool to get rhinoplasty from a different doctor!

Dr. Moynihan did some injectable filler under my eyes to fill the dark hallowed out space. He had excellent bedside manner, cared about my comfort, checked in with me throughout the procedure, and seemed very genuine. I wasn’t rushed… and he educated me on a procedure I had no idea existed. I’m very happy with the results, and cannot wait for my next appointment to get Botox! And my next Juvederm lip filler.
He seems concerned & caring. And he runs on time! Excellent location, and easy to park on the street near his office.

Initially I went to Dr Moynihan for for lips. I wanted a plastic surgeon rather than a dermatologist because I felt more comfortable that a surgeon is an artist, who would study my face and recommend and choose product that made the most sense for me.
Dr. Moynihan was recommended by a friend and he delivered exactly this. He did exactly what I wanted. No «movie star» lips, just gave me back the lips I had. And, when I talked about my «gravity» concerns around my mouth, he suggested Voluma for my checks — who knew this would solve the mouth issues.
All this in a warm caring environment from the doctor and everyone in his office.

Dr Moynihan did my revision rhinoplasty and it was the best decision I have made in this rhinoplasty nightmare. I had a rhinoplasty by a different doctor and it changed my face. I never realized how small details could change how you saw yourself, but I was depressed and hated the way I looked after the first surgery with the other doctor. But I’m so glad I went to Dr Moynihan for my revision rhinoplasty, he made me look like me again and that was worth every penny. He is such a good Dr! He accomplished everything I had asked for! He is also considerate and calls post-​op, not just day one but day two as well! I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Moynihan! I love you Dr Moynihan! Thank you for giving me myself back.

Dr. Moynihan has been doing my lip augmentation injections for a couple of years. I initially chose to go to him because I wanted the best. And that is what I got. His aesthetic is spot on, and he knows what looks beautiful and natural. I have tried to steer him in the past (i.e., MORE!) and he always knows what is best. Defer to him.
Lip injections seems simple enough, but why would you sacrifice your face at one of the «high volume» injectable places to save a couple bucks when you could see a facial plastic surgeon willing to do a beautiful job?
