Geneva Seal

After stopping into several jewelry stores looking for a specific ring style, my fiancé and I began to think no one had what we were looking for. A friend of ours bought watches from Geneva Seal and told us to check out their jewelry selection. Michael sat down with us and listened to me describe what I wanted. Within a few minutes, he brought out a few samples and explained how it would all come together. He patiently listened and answered all of my questions. We decided to have him design a custom ring. Within a couple of days he sent us a picture of the ring he designed and it was exactly what I wanted! Shortly after, he called us to come back and see the ring. It looked even better in person, I absolutely love it! Thank you Michael and Geneva Seal, they are the best jewelers in Chicago! See you soon for our wedding bands.

Visited Geneva Seal to purchase either a Breitling or Omega watch (they are an authorized dealer of both, among others). I was assisted by Michael who was very helpful in answering my questions and patient while I browsed several options. I did not feel rushed or pressured throughout the entire process. Michael helped track down the specific Breitling model I wanted and had the piece shipped the next day. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and the service from Geneva Seal. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the market for a timepiece or other jewelry. I look forward to doing business with them again.

Went in to have a watch battery replaced and was informed that the jeweler who replaces them is only there on Saturdays. «While you wait» is only for if you happen to walk in on a Saturday.

I stopped into Geneva Seal to buy my boyfriend a watch for our anniversary. Rachel helped me choose the perfect BlancPain for him. He absolutely loved it! The service I received was incredible! Rachel was extremely patient and guided me towards making the best choice. This is a high end retailer, and I truly feel that the service provided was just that. We now know where we are going to get our engagement ring and bands!

While the staff people were generally very nice, their watch repair leaves alot to be desired. After paying $ 200+ to have my watch repaired, it broke twice with in 18 months. The second time, after geneve seal giving me a quote for another $ 200, i decided to send it to the manufacture who told me the seal around the bezel had broken and that moisture had caused rust with in the watch.
I will not trust them with another watch repair. Since they never mentioned the rust in the first two times they looked at the watch there are only two possibilities, they broke the bezel while repairing it or there was rust in there the whole time and choose not to tell me while still accepting my money for the repair. Both of which is not particularly re-​assuring.
I did speak with Leonard three times, and after mentioning the manufactures quote and much negotiation, he offered to have me tell the manufacture not to do the work, and instead bring it back to genevea seal and they will send it to the manufacture and apply my previous payment to the cost of the manufactures repair. While I appreciated this offer, it was just too late and a bit uncomfortable. Instead of quoting me another $ 200, they should of suggested this solution at that point.

There’s not another jewelry shop that encompasses as high level of craftsmanship and expertise.

After having a bad experience with another jeweler, my fiancée and I came into Geneva Seal hoping to find a ring that was ready to go as we were anxious to be engaged.
As soon as we walked in, Leonard made the experience second to none. My fiancée tried on a lot of different ring designs; he was extremely patient and very helpful with any questions she had. After we made the choice, he came up with a great way to customize the ring and make it even better for a minimal cost.
We both love the ring and Leonard even stopped by our engagement party to say hello, couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

After unsuccessfully working with 3 other local jewelry stores on an engagement ring design, I made an appointment with Leonard to see if Geneva Seal was up for the task. Given this was a re-​mount, we already had our center stone and also wanted to trade in our existing diamond/​platinum setting.
We had specific ideas on what we were looking for, and with Leonard’s expertise and creativity, plus looking at some of his beautiful creations, we quickly honed in on a final design. Leonard then created «pictures» using his CAD (computer aided design) system — a service no other jeweler offered us. This made us much more comfortable to proceed with Geneva Seal, as we could «see» the ring from many angles, plus feel confident that our jeweler understood exactly what we wanted him to build. And has the advanced equipment to actually be able to do it.

And surprisingly given this is a high-​end Oak Street Jewelry store, Leonard quoted us a price lower than the other jewelers we had been working with — even though his design was more elaborate and had more diamonds (and of higher quality).
After a few back and forth emails — with Leonard always responding very promptly — we instructed Leonard to proceed. We then received several status update emails along the way («the casting came out great!»), which was a very nice touch and increased our enjoyment in the process. The ring was completed in 2 weeks — a request we made so we could take the ring on our anniversary vacation.
The ring, with 119 diamonds total is breathtaking, and a perfect match in design and diamond color to my wedding band and main stone. The workmanship is like no other ring we saw in any other store — and most importantly, is exactly what we wanted.
Leonard is a true expert and professional. He takes great pride in his work and has passion for his craft. Plus he is a very nice guy. We highly recommend Geneva Seal, and plan to continue our relationship with Leonard for all our future jewelry needs.

I came here upon a recommendation to get my Breitling watch repolished and have the battery changed. Leonard, who helped me, was very knowledgable about my watch. I said I might be interested in another watch purchase and he showed me a beautiful Frank Muller. I didn’t get it at first, but I came back for it when it was time to pick up my Breitling. I still receive compliments on it all the time!
Also, their follow ups are fantastic. I got a call after my purchase to see how it was working, if I was happy with the watch, etc. Their family atmosphere made me feel welcome and their prices were competitive (trust me I did my research).

Wow! I wish I had read the reviews on here before I went in. :/​DK’s experience in 2010 is spot on with mine.
I brought a watch in to get repaired (a brand they sell in their store). They assured me they could fix the issue (which was minor, the watch was keeping fine time). They called me a couple weeks later to come pick up the watch. When they handed me the watch it was immediately obvious that they didn’t fix the issue. They apologized and took it it back to get fixed.
A couple weeks later they call me and say the watch is fixed. Hooray! The actually did address the issue and I took my watch and paid the repair cost (which, I will say, was reasonable).
I didn’t wear the watch for a week and left it on my watch-​winder (the same one I have always used). At this point I find out that the watch is now running 5 min slow! Also, they had somehow screwed up one of the hands on the watch.
I brought the watch in to point out the problem, which they apologized for, and they sent it off to repair. I get a call 2 weeks later saying my watch is ready.
I go in to pick up the watch and immediately point out that they didn’t fix one of the issues. They apologized, but at this point I was furious. After an argument (which I will admit I was at fault for) I ended up being told to leave and not come back.
So, here I am, with a watch that is MORE broken than when I brought it to them and having to search out somewhere else to repair it or pursue legal remedies.
Although the people are nice at first, do not trust their service unless you have a lot of free time to spend going back and forth and don’t need your watch to keep time.

Geneva Seal is fantastic! They do jewelry and watch repairs on site for a very fair price and the quality of their work is outstanding. They also replace watch batteries while you wait! They have beautiful new and estate jewelry and their new location on Oak Street is outstanding. The owners are great and very involved in the community. Even though it may look really fancy from the outside, they are always friendly and professional, no matter what the need. They just repaired an omega chain for me and it looks like new!

I went here to shop for a gift for my mothers birthday. A friend had mentioned this shop but I didn’t really know what to expect. Right when I walked in I knew I was going to find something beautiful because they have an awesome selection of jewelry.
My biggest problem when I shop is making a decision, especially in a place like this where I liked most of what they had to offer. Thankfully, a gentleman named Leonard came to the rescue! He clearly knows his products and has a great eye for things. He asked me a few questions about my mother and knew immediately where to look for the right gift.
We finally settled on a watch that I can’t wait to give to my mom. What a great experience!

I walked by the store and saw some nice collections in the window; I walked in to take a closer look. They have a large selection of watches and rings; I was even told that they could customize a design for me. As I was looking around, I asked the gentleman to polish my one of my rings. While my ring was being polished, I decided to pick his brain a bit about a watch I had been looking at for my husband. I was blown away! He was very knowledgeable, and educated me on the background and what the watch has to offer. When purchasing a large ticket item, you’d like a bit of information, he was able to provide me with everything.
I didn’t make my purchase that day, but I thanked him for his time. I went to a couple different stores to look for the same item, and didn’t receive the same type of service. I came back about a month later with my husband to make our purchase and I was thrilled I did. My husband too appreciated the service we received. The watch was sized right on the spot and we didn’t have to come back for anything. I am very thankful I found them and will be returning in the future!

The staff at Geneva were a pleasure to work with this past month with custom designing my wedding ring and choosing the perfect band for my husband. Professional, communicated well, worked in our budget and spent the time consulting with us to create my perfect ring. And it is perfect-​I did not think my ideas would ever come to fruition. I’m very impressed.

We were out shopping over the weekend and after peeking in the windows at the watches, stopped in. The gentleman that helped us immediately got off of his cell phone (which I appreciated) and took the time to show us many different options, helped with suggestions regarding adding new/​different pieces to our collection vs. something very similar, and was not pushy at all (which I also appreciated).
We left without buying anything, grabbed some lunch and thought about it, and then went back and purchased from them. We received a nice discount (though after looking online at some of the prices shown, we may have still overpaid a bit…), and it was a very fluid process. They had their watch repair person onsite and so it was very easy to get the watch fitted, and he took the time to do it correctly/​did not make the process seemed rushed.
He even offered to steam clean my rings while we were there, which was a nice touch. I was pleased with the overall experience!

If I can write a tagline for Geneva Seal it would be: «Solutions at their Finest».
In all my years of patronizing Geneva Seal, I’ve only experienced the utmost in professionalism. Whatever my needs are, be it gifts for family and friends, or a small trinket for me, Leonard and his staff always have brilliant solutions. They’re not the least expensive jeweler out there, but they never claimed to be. What they do best is work within your parameters so that you walk out satisfied every time.
Everytime I return, they greet me like I just saw them yesterday at brunch. Again — offering me impeccable service and consistently quality merchandise.
Whenever I have recommended the store to others, their reactions are always the same, «Thanks, Renata — we found exactly what we were looking for. Leonard and his team were wonderful. We’ll definitely come back!»

Rude and unwilling to help. I called to get an estimate on an item that I already had a number of quotes on and the lady seemed completely unwilling to help and couldn’t wait to get off the phone with me. I’m not sure why but she just kept saying ‘we probably wont be able to do that” before I even finished describing the piece! She said she will have someone call me back.
A week later I received a call from one of their jewelers who said they will absolutely be able to do the job. No problem at all. The catch? They quoted me a price 60% higher than my second highest quote and 160% higher than the lowest quote I received! I kindly thanked him for his time and told him that I’m going to go with one of the other quotes. He basically told me to have fun with that.

Save yourself and run away fast from this business. When a customer needs to resort to legal counsel and measures just to get back what was given to the store AND have the repairs done right it’s a HUGE sign that customers Do Not come first.
If I could give negative stars I would.
