Garfield Ridge Dentistry

I was referred to this dentist office by a coworker, with that being said I figured it was worth a shot. I came in for my first visit with lots of pain from a wisdom tooth. They gave me options to treat it with antibiotics and pain killers if I choose to come a second day to extract it or to get it extracted the same day. I figured since I’m here and don’t want to be in much more pain to extract it. The process was pretty quick although I did freak out here and there from all the tugging and pulling that was also not helping my anxiety. But Izzy was very patient, very calm with me helper me relax. The staff was super duper nice and friendly. I will continue to come to this office, so I guess I cheated on my old dentist with a new one and I liked the new dentist! Oh well

I had a severe phobia of the dentists due to many traumatic childhood events & they made me BEYOND comfortable. No phobia anymore! All thanks to Dr. Izzy and Melissa! I came to their office several times — first being a cleaning, second two fillings and more cleanings afterward.
The two fillings were the hardest for me. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I was okay. My fiancé was allowed in the room with me and I was allowed to have my headphones on. For the shot (the worse part for me), they used which I believe is a DentalVibe (Injection Comfort System). I am telling you this right now– I DIDNT FEEL A THING! Not even the shot!
So in conclusion, I rate this 5 stars for the high level of customer service I received (the front desk girls are so nice). Dr. Izzy and Melissa are the best as they were communicative, reassuring and comforting. I thank them so much for being understanding of my fear. Anyone who is considering them should just go to them because they’re great! I wouldn’t go elsewhere! I can honestly say I am not scared of the dentist anymore!

Child friendly and child skilled. Daughter’s cavity was filled in a pain free environment, efficiently, without an ounce of worry. Easy to make an appointment and low wait time. Allows parents with their child during exams and procedures.

OK. I would like to start by saying I am in my 40’s and have well warranted anxiety when it comes to dentists. Hence the reason why I hadn’t been to a dentist in over 2 years. But it had become a necessity since I developed severe sharp pain any time I ate or drank something. So I did my Unilocal review and cross matched it with my insurance providers and choose Dr Izzy and the Garfield Ridge Dentistry family. I choose that word because that is how they made me feel. Dr Izzy and his staff took a he time to talk to me and put me at ease. After the round of xrays it was official. I needed a root canal. He gave me the option to schedule it for another day and he would prescribe something for my anxiety or we can do it today. My heart is pumping. My tooth is throbbing and I have to decide. Dr Izzy and the staff won over my confidence so much that I decided to go ahead and get it over with. He took his time but was very efficient. It was a bit more difficult then most because I had «curved» roots. He showed me they were curvey. I felt some pain so he stopped and reanesthetized the area. It is now the day after and I am having a little pain but nothing that some Ibuprofen cannot fix. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment. I have been talking all my friends to go to him. He is the vest I have found. You can tell he enjoys the job he does.

I CAN NOT say enough praises about this Dentist and his staff. I’ve been a patient for a few years now, and each and every time I have visited the office, Dr. Izzy and his staff have been extremely professional friendly competent in every way.
I have recently had a crown installed by Dr. Izzy and he and his assistant could not have been more considerate of my comfort and satisfaction. If your looking for a GREAT Dr. and staff, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. Izzy!!!

I haven’t been to a dentist in years, but was referred to Dr. Izzy by my mom who has been seeing him for a few years now. My first appointment I was told I needed a deep cleaning, which required shots in my mouth, but due to my anxiety I started to get nervous. I made my appointment for a few weeks after that and just knew I needed to get it done with already. When I went for my appointment, Dr. Izzy came out to the waiting room to ask if I was okay, how I was feeling and told me that everything was going to be okay. I am not sure how many doctors take the time out to make sure their patients are comfortable, but Dr. Izzy is the best and truly cares! When my cleaning finally happened, the dental hygienist Melissa took the time out to explain what was going to happen during the cleaning and she made sure I was comfortable. Even though I absolutely hate needles and shots, I didn’t even feel anything! The staff is very friendly, explains everything with billing and are very attentive. You can tell that the whole office cares about their patients, especially me suffering from anxiety I always feel like I’m being taken very good care of. So thank you Dr. Izzy and the entire staff for making me feel comfortable!

Had my first cleaning in June and, right off the bat… I was greeted by friendly staff. It’s a comfortable little office and they make you feel welcomed. Before the hygienist dug in she explained what she was going to do, which I appreciated. Being my first time here I was a bit hesitant. But that went away after speaking with everyone and having a few laugh… I knew I had found the right office for my wife and I.
Everyone is very professional and courteous. I’d recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist in Garfield Ridge

I recently moved to Chicago and had to leave my Dentist after five years that I absolutely loved. After moving to the South Side I found Dr. Izzy through a work referral program.
I am the world’s biggest baby when it comes to Dentist but I have to tell you that Dr. Izzy takes the time to make sure you are comfortable each step of the way. His outgoing and friendly demeanor makes me feel at ease everytime I am there. True Customer Service starts at the door and Jose is extremely professional, kind, outgoing and genuinely nice. He sets the tone for nervous patients like me.
This practice is a true gem and I highly recommend Garfield Ridge Dentistry

Had a very bad experience here! I should have known by my first instinct just walking into the office which told me to run the other way. The waiting area seems very chaotic and not well kept. Pictures on the wall are hanging crooked and the receptionists were very slow. After waiting for over 20 minutes, the dentist was finally ready to see me. I walked back to a room and while glancing around waiting for the dentist, I noticed it just looked very out of date. I also found it odd that the room next to me was only seperated by a curtain. Once the dentsit came in she had a good look at my problem tooth. She kept poking and prodding at it and irritated it extremely. Then she looked at the xrays and told me that I needed to have a root canal. I decided I would get a second opinion considering I did not have a good impression of this dentist. Needless to say when I visited a different dentist a few days later I wasn’t too surprised to find out that I did not need a root canal. I do not even know the name of the dentist who saw me at Garfield Ridge as I did not understand what she said her name was and I could not find her name anywhere online on the website or in the office. My guess is that this place absolutely did not care about me at all and just said I need a root canal to get money out of me. Avoid this place! There are much better dentists in the area.

This place was not originally my first choice; as I had been told by several people how great Drahos Dental was but after calling up and trying to get an appointment for the first time going to the dentist in about 7 years I was rudely denied and their receptionist was interrogated me about «who told me to call here» needless to say after meeting with Dr. Izzy I am SO GLAD they rejected me from there because I have never been to a dentist who was as honest and friendly. Like I said it has been about 7 years since I’ve been to see a dentist (Shame on me I know) and most of the reason was my old dentist kept telling me every single time I went if I did not get braces immediately my teeth would fall out from the bone level being so jagged. I was extremely nervous that this would be the case with my visit today but it most definitely was not. He informed me that I was doing pretty well for not getting the attention I needed and part of it was not my fault because of the overcrowding but he was not pushing the idea of braces/​clear coat and said once I felt comfortable with him we’d discuss it IF I WANTED, not because I needed it. His jaw just about dropped when I told him how surprised I was that my previous dentist had told me something like that to get my money. Regardless of my past experiences I have never been so happy coming out of a dentist’s office until today. The staff was great and I have nothing but nice and positive things to say about Dr. Izzy and Garfield Ridge Dentistry! They also have a dental plan for people who don’t have insurance to save them some money (I don’t need it but for those of you wondering).
