Excellent customer service! I had my first Ouidad haircut with Jenny today. She was awesome! If you have curly hair, you have to check her out. My hair is not the easiest to deal with and she got it right! I liked her honesty and she did not push having to come in every 6 weeks for a cut. The salon is cute and very clean. The Ouidad cut was $ 100 and her regular cuts are $ 50, which is very reasonable. Since it was snowy and wet out, they even dried my shoes out while I was there :) Little actions go very far in my book!!!

I’m not giving 5 stars because when I made the appointment I told them I had to be a wedding ceremony by a certain time, but they were running late and made me late.

Pam is the best. She gives amazing hair cuts. This place is always peaceful and wonderful. Jenny is also amazing. She always does my waxing and color and is excellent. You cannot go wrong here.

Just got my cut with Jenny, and they’re not kidding! She’s great! I would definitely recommend her to all curly girls (and guys) cause she’s been trained in the Ouidad method for curly cuts. That ain’t easy but she’s a sculptress. She also recommends their line of hair products, which I will be using now too, since they’re sulfate free. Gonna bring my whole family!

Pam Fox is amazing! She takes her time, asks lots of questions and makes sure she gives you exactly what you want. She also offers a two week satisfaction guarantee… within two weeks of your appointment you can come back and get any corrections or touchups to your Haircut you want. She does an amazing job and is worth every penny she charges (average for an experienced stylist). Love love love her!!!

For two years, my (now former) stylist at an expensive Loop salon had me convinced that the only way to manage my wavy hair was to straighten it, but after one appointment with Tara I love my curls. She not only did a great job cutting my hair, but she was excellent at explaining to me why the old cut hadn’t worked. I can’t believe it took me so long to find her!

Fox Hair took my son as a walk-​in on a Saturday afternoon. The stylist was very good and took her time to ask him questions about how he wears his hair, what products he used, how active he was. $ 35 for a mens haircut.

I was nervous about finding a new salon when I moved to Chicago about 2 years ago. A friend of mine referred me to Fox Hair with positive reviews. I’ve been going to this salon for about a year and have been nothing but happy about it. The prices are fair (particularly for Chicago), the stylists are knowledgeable, scheduling is easy, and the end product is great. It is a very small place which results in personalized attention. Pam clearly has a desire to make sure her clients leave looking and feeling good. She has worked with me on 2 significant color changes until we were both satisfied. Would (and already have) recommended this salon to my friends!

I have been going to this salon since I lived right around the corner about 6 years ago. Before going here I never had a permanent stylist. I cheated on every person who ever cut or colored my hair. But then I met Pam (and Jenny and Sean), and I have never strayed.
First of all, this place is like family. I adore Pam, Jenny and Sean and it is always so great to see them. I bring my sisters here whenever they are in town and Pam and Jenny did our hair for my wedding. Walking in is like walking into someone’s home and hanging out with friends.
As for the hair, Pam has now crafted several different shades of red/​auburn for me (I like to change the color a lot) that are all fantastic. The particular shade I have right now never (EVER) fails to get compliments. Constantly. Friends, co-​workers, random people on the street tell me how much they love the color of my hair. I get squeamish about compliments, usually, but when people notice my hair I think that’s great and I tell them exactly where they can find Pam. She does a fantastic cut too… don’t get me wrong, I love the way she cuts my hair and she is always in tune with whatever I am thinking I want to change about it. But ladies, if you have ever had red hair, or wanted red hair (I am a mousy brown by birth) or even just wanted someone to make a shade of color for YOU… then you gotta go see Pam.

Jenny rocks my curls!!! I, like most curly haired woman have always been challenged with finding a good stylist, hair cut and products. I moved to Chicago two years ago and just knew someone in this city would save me from my hair. I then discovered Ouidad online and found Fox Hair had a certified Ouidad stylist. My hair has never been the same… in a REALLY good way. :) I constantly get compliments on my curls and other frazzled curly haired girls stop me on the street and ask me what my secret is. I gladly tell them about the Ouidad cut that Jenny does for me.
One big plus I like about Fox Hair is, it’s not a mass producing salon. There’s Pam, Jenny and Sean. It’s very personal and relaxed, unlike some of the higher end salons where you feel self conscious just even being in their presence.

Having been to more than 20 salons (or is it 30? could it be 40? gulp) in my many years in Chicago, I’ve learned to wait a couple visits before deciding how I feel about a place. Having just had my second cut and color at Fox Hair, it’s safe to say I’m in love. Intense, consistent attention to me and my neediness, a relaxing environment, and fantastic results.
I’ve got straight hair, transitioning from super-​short, and I’ve been longing for a look that’s a little more sophisticated but not Stepford wife. So I’m a tough customer. I want layers but not too layer-​y. I want rich color but I don’t want permanent color. I want it to look fantastic, but I don’t want to brush or blow-​dry… Wow, I’m annoying. But Pam listens and makes suggestions… and listens some more and makes more suggestions. I love the way my hair looks now possibly even more than my first time there. That to me is a sign that I’ll get the same star attention each time I visit.
Another thing I appreciated… Although I felt like I was getting a haircut, Pam only charged for a trim. I guess it wasn’t a full-​on cut this time. She said that I’d probably only need a full cut every other visit. Maybe this is common with other salons, but I’ve never experienced it before. I’ve always paid for a full cut every time I went in. So, that was a nice extra surprise. I also love that there are so many shops I love right near this place, so I can get lots of errands done before or after my cut. Score and double-​score.

For the past year or so I have given control of my locks to Jenny and haven’t been disappointed. She knows whats ‘in’ and whats not. She urges me to try new looks and it always turns out better than I could have ever expected. I have gotten more compliments on my hair in the past year than I have ever before.
I love that it is small, everyone knows your name and is so nice and helpful. I have the best time when I’m here chatting and laughing. Enjoying a diet coke while getting my hair done isn’t too shabby either.
Usually I can get an appointment within a week, which is great because I seem to procrastinate and when I go– I NEED to go.
Somewhat expensive, but not more than any other comparable salon. You get what you pay for– and its worth it.
Parking is readily available at the meters on the street.
When you leave looking and feeling fabulous– head next-​door to the Irish Bistro and enjoy a drink at the bar and show off your new look.

Being a curly girl, I searched for the perfect Ouidad certified hair stylist in Chicago. Coming across Jennifer at Fox, I was thrilled to get my first official curly-​girl-​cut for my modeling, photo shoots, and physique competition in March and May 2010.
Though the service is pricey, if you have the cash for a full-​service, first-​class experience — go to Fox Hair.
I was thrilled with my haircut! My curls had never been bouncier! I felt like a million bucks as I left the salon. I was treated with the best service anywhere. Jennifer made me feel «like a regular,» though it was my first visit.
Again, I returned in May 2010 for a touch-​up before my pageantry/​competitions. She made me feel so beautiful with my curly locks cut just so.
The Ouidad cut is definitely the way to enhance your natural curls!!!

Pam Fox will make you love your hair. Since I’ve started entrusting my tresses to Pam, I’ve been perfectly satisfied with the results. Delighted, even.
Pam is utterly kind and a true professional. I don’t know what on earth would inspire the review that ChicagoD gave Fox Hair but I would take those words with a grain of salt. Many of my friends have gone to Pam for years, and I would not hesitate to recommend her or her lovely staff. (A shout out to Jenny and Seanpaul!)
The atmosphere is very relaxing and serene. I never feel rushed. Pam is careful, attentive and I benefit from her creativity and perfectionism. She may gently recommend something new but she is very sensitive to my response. She asks for and listens to feedback and really takes her business seriously. She treats her clients like friends and I feel that she really puts her heart into everything she does.
Side note: If you drive, parking here is a snap. I always find a spot right in front.
Summing up: lovely, kind people; excellent service; serene atmosphere; easy parking.

This city has tons of salons, and in the 16 yrs I’ve lived here, I’ve been to a bunch of really good ones – Vidal Sassoon, Salon Blue, Sine Qua Non, Salon Buzz, Maxine, Salon Blonde. Fox Hair is definitely one of them. Owner Pam Fox takes her time with her clients, gives tips on styling and caring for your hair. And the prices here are extremely reasonable. Very unpretentious and comfortable neighborhood place.

I went to Fox Hair for several years, but finally decided that my time is more valuable. The owner was consistently late and very, very slow — not careful or concentrated, just slow. She consistently booked other appointments while your color processed, which only takes 30 – 45 minutes. After sitting there for over half an hour AFTER the buzzer dinged, I vowed never to go again. The worse thing about it, is that she would never apologize. Even if I got my cut, color, and products for free, I would never return.

I can’t say enough good things. I have gone here for about 3 years now and Pam and Seanpaul are the best! I was hesitant with my last hair cut but now LOVE it. They always squeeze me in when I need anything. The shop is small and personal, and it feels great to have such great service where the owner knows you by name. It is very modern without being pretentious and the stylists are always talking about new things that they have learned or new ideas they want to try. Street parking is a breeze, plus the #11 bus and the Irving Park Brown line stop are both 2 minute walks away. There is no reason NOT to go to Fox Hair.

Everyone at Fox Hair is fantastic. I have been known to go in once a week just for a blow dry. I would trust any of the stylists there with my hair and that is not an easy thing to say about a salon. They also sell Aveda and Bumble products which are two of my favorites and Pam makes the cutest headbands. I am so lucky to have them in my neighborhood.

Pam Fox saved me! !!! I had a bang disaster the night before where a woman at a DIFFERENT salon BUTCHERED my bangs: I had wanted a trim and she took off 2 inches off on a slant– it looked horrible! The next day I ran to fox hair on my lunch break and Pam sat me down right away and fixed it in a minute. I am pretty picky about my hair too. So sweet and helpful, I will definitely be back.
