Fotio – A Photo Booth Without The Booth

My husband and I knew we wanted a photo booth at our wedding before we even started planning. We feel very fortunate that Fotio had been recommended to us! We had them at our wedding in October and we couldn’t be happier with how ALL of the photos turned out! Nick was quick to respond and very easy to work with the entire time. The photo booth was a huge hit with our guests and everyone had a blast taking photos. The best part was looking at them after the wedding and finding friends who didn’t really know each other, taking silly pictures together! Nick was also great at capturing genuine moments and helping some guests find their inner silliness. A lot of people even ended up using the photos from this as their social media profile pictures. Overall, this was the best photo booth I’ve ever seen!

We had Fotio at our wedding on March 19^th in Chicago’s West Loop and it was a huge hit!
All of our guests loved the photo booth and it was so fun seeing everyone take pictures together. Nick does a great job of getting genuine reactions out of people while keeping it fun. The props he brings are classy and make for some great photos. And the photos are phenomenal! The black and white filter is really flattering and makes everyone look straight out of a classic picture.
Nick sent us an email the next day with a link to our gallery on their site. It was super quick. Before we knew it, everyone was posting pictures from the photo booth all over our feeds on Facebook and Instagram. A good chunk of our guests made it their profile pictures too! Out of all the pictures from our wedding, some of our favorites were the ones from Fotio.
A month later, everybody keeps telling us how the great the photo booth was. We’re so glad we had Fotio as a part of our wedding and we highly recommend using them. Thank you Fotio!

This will be review of having Fotio as our «photo booth» for our wedding.
First off, the entire process of initially meeting with Nick (the owner), signing a contract, paying the deposit and paying the balance was seamless. We never encountered any issues leading up to the wedding day. Nick was even nice enough to attend our final walk through with our planners and caterer at the venue 2 days before the wedding.
Hands down this is the best photo experience I’ve ever had at a wedding. It was so easy and accessible and so many pictures are taken in a short amount of time. Nick himself was attending the Fotio all night snapping pictures like a mad man and even getting involved in a few himself. I don’t think there was a moment where there wasn’t a line of people wanting to take their pictures next.
The quality of the pictures cannot be topped. I’m yet to see anything even close to the sharpness and quality of the photos. We opted for no props which went extremely well with the black-​and-​white photos.
Nearly everyone has already posted their Fotio pics to Facebook and Instagram because of how easy the post-​event process is. Not only did Nick provide us with a link of every picture in a downloadable format but he is also sending us a USB with everything as well.
Long story short, sign with Fotio, have it be the talk of the party and enjoy the memories it will create FOREVER. You will not be disappointed.

We had Fotio during our wedding on 9.19.15 at Greenhouse Loft and was hands down one of the highlights from the day!
I was so worried that people wouldn’t take photos like they do at a lot of wedding photobooths but this absolutely wasn’t the case with Fotio — our guests were in and out of the photobooth the entire night!

My husband and I decided to have Fotio at our wedding in June and it was hands down one of the best decisions we made! Our wedding was at The Garfield Park Conservatory and the props were safari themed. It was so fun! Rachel was amazing and was so good at getting people to hop in. I will most certainly hire them again. We got the photos really quickly, too!

A photo booth was barely on my radar when I started to look at wedding vendors, but after seeing Fotio’s unique, vintage-​inspired setup at the Randolph Street Market last year, we immediately booked them for our August 21 wedding at the Adler Planetarium. They were very friendly, responsive, and so easy to work with from start to finish — and totally gay friendly, which is always a concern with wedding vendors!
We wanted to provide our own travel-​themed backdrop, and when the oversized map we ordered for the purpose was too reflective in test shots, we bought a new map at Salvage One and Fotio picked it up from the store and did new test shots for us within a week of the event. On the night of, they brought their own travel-​themed props such as a telescope, motorcycle goggles, and a statue of a tiger (that was big hit with our guests). All of the items were well-​chosen and unique and produced awesome photos.
We couldn’t be happier with the results. As soon as the pictures went up on Facebook the morning after the event, half our guests changed their profile and cover photos. The lighting and black and white processing make everyone look their absolute best. I’m extremely self-​conscious and even I found myself taking pictures I never would have been comfortable with in a normal photo booth, and they look wonderful! There was rarely a time in the evening when people weren’t gathered around the booth watching the slideshow on the screen, which meant that there were always people to pull up front for some photos. It was also great having a staffer manning the booth all night. She was so friendly and engaging, always there to hand over the shutter button and offer just the right amount of encouragement and direction and keep things running smoothly.
We really could not have asked for a better experience or better pictures to remember our wedding by. We had two photographers and a videographer at the event and Instamax cameras on every table, so a photo booth might seem redundant, but having Fotio there as well was one of the highlights of the night and worth every penny. We would book them again in a heartbeat for any future events we might plan.

At the start of this year, I decided that instead of dreading my 30^th birthday, I would go big and throw one heck of a party. I dragged my heels a bit with planning and didn’t get to making inquiries until two months before my birthday. I knew I wanted a photo booth for the event. I looked at several options, and while a few were already booked, Fotio had an opening. And now, looking back, I couldn’t imagine going with another group because Fotio was the way to go! Nick was super prompt with his correspondence and everything was easy and all set for the party. Let me just say — IT WAS A HUGE HIT!
The space for my party wasn’t all that big, but Fotio’s setup doesn’t require much. It was great not to have something that was big and bulky. Rachel was the staff member who was on hand for my event and she rocked! She knew the equipment well and offered helpful suggestions for poses and where to stand in order for my guests to get the best possible photos. They had fun and unique props to use, as well. Initially, I wasn’t sure about the black and white photos, but the quality is so professional and the lighting makes everyone look their absolute best. Rachel even made sure we had a hashtag for the event so my guests could start adding their photos to Instagram with it, as Rachel posted a few during and after the event on Fotios’ account. I also found that I really loved the spontaneity of being able to use the clicker and take the photos yourself. Some of my favorite shots are the ones where my friends weren’t all-​together paying attention and were a little caught off guard. They were great moments to have captured! And the viewer on the back of their camera — superb. For a party of my size, it was the perfect little element of entertainment and everyone loved looking at the photos.
Fotio’s pricing is super reasonable, and some of that may be because they don’t do print outs. I thought I might feel a little cheated, not having instant photos for my guests to take home, but I came to realize that it didn’t matter — today, most people are viewing their pics online and don’t care as much about the hard copy. It has been much more fun in the days after to view these photos on social media, comment, and tag my friends in them. It feels like I get to relive the party all over again.
My friends and family absolutely loved having Fotio there that night! Parties big or small, Fotio will make your party go from great to awesome! Everyone will remember the night fondly!

We used Fotio for our wedding in June 2015. We booked a wedding venue that has a lot of 1920s vintage charm and when I inquired about what Photo Booth vendors would work there, the venue manager immediately suggested Fotio. Nick was wonderful to work with, very professional, helpful and responsive, and took time out of his schedule a few weeks before the wedding to visit the venue again to scope out locations that would work well for set-​up. The camera has this charming old-​timey look to it that you just have to see in person. Our guests loved it and the booth was packed all night. Nick provided a ton of fun props and was able to capture some amazing pictures of everyone. I loved that everyone gets a link to the website so they can see the photos the next day. The photography was incredible, the black and white photos made everyone look flawless. I will treasure the fotio photos just as much as the ones taken by the photographer we hired to capture our day! I highly recommend using fotio for your wedding, it was a huge hit at ours!

We used Fotio for our wedding on May 30 at the Adler. It was absolutely amazing, and I recommend them 100%!! Our contacts at Fotio were wonderful and always extremely responsive, down to working out an alternative backdrop with our décor vendor to get the best possible photos. The setup is so easy to use, people just start snapping away, and I think it makes for better and more candid shots. Plus, you get so much more room than with a traditional photo booth, it’s easier to get group shots.
Most importantly, the quality of the photos is simply outstanding. For the money, this is an incredible value and some of the best $$ we spent for the party. I had heard this from other reviewers, but seeing the photos from our wedding really brought it home! Everyone somehow magically looks their best, and the photos are professional quality.

We booked Fotio for our May 24^th, 2015 wedding and have absolutely no regrets! Nick (the owner) was very prompt with our communication via email, and was on time and ready to go the day of the event. Fotio seemed to be the highlight of the wedding for most of our guests, and was a fun activity for all ages.
The photos were all of excellent quality and look amazing — it feels like Fotio was our second photographer that captured so many great shots of our guests. Even guests who were photo shy, loved being able to see the recent shots taken that were displayed on the monitor in front of the photo booth area. The day after our wedding, over half of our guests changed their profile photos to one of the Fotio pictures — including us!
Also huge props to Fotio: Nick special-​ordered a shorter tripod stand for the camera to accommodate the specific photo booth background we wanted to use at our venue at no extra cost.

This was the best investment I made for my wedding.
Nick was a dream to work with. Super responsive prior and super fun at my wedding! Seriously ever person at my wedding told me how much they loved the Fotio. The pictures come out amazing and who doesn’t look good in black and white? I especially love that you can see them the next day online.

Fantastic service! I love that you don’t have to try to smush into a tiny photobooth with only 2 or 3 friends – instead, they set up a backdrop and let crowds of all sizes hop in! You’re given a clicker so you can control when the photos are taken, too. Aside from the stellar props and photo quality, I think my favorite part about this was the guy manning the station eventually took control of said clicker when he realized everyone was too belligerent to do it themselves – five stars!!!

We used Fotio for our non profit event last year and they were AMAZING! First of all, Nick (the owner) was super responsive via email and arrived at the event early with time to set everything up. He also manned the booth and was just generally super nice!
The quality of the pictures is really great, plus they give you a jump drive of the photos on the spot (I think) and upload the photos to Facebook shortly thereafter (and people can tag themselves).
Overall, it was a really great experience and we will hopefully use them again!

I had Fotio at my wedding last weekend and couldn’t be happier with that decision. In fact, it was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made! Fotio not only takes amazing pictures, but they also provide a form of entertainment. For guests who may not like dancing or need a break from eating and drinking, it’s a great activity. The kids we had at our wedding loved it, too.
We received a jump drive from Fotio– a very cute bamboo one to boot — immediately following their session and then the next day all the pictures were on their site and Facebook. By the end of that next day, at least a dozen of our guests had changed their Facebook profile pictures to ones from the Fotio booth. Everyone just looks SO great in them. We had 670 photos in our album, and I have looked through them all at least three times. I will also say that I am very happy with our decision to use a white back drop. I toyed with gold, one of our wedding colors, but I think the beauty is in the simplicity of these — plus Nick brought some awesome props to fit our vintage glam theme.
On top of the quality of the product, the owners are just the nicest. Nick manned the booth at our wedding and really engaged with our guests in a way that I think brought out people’s best in the pictures. We look forward to seeing Fotio around town and will cherish these photos forever!

We used Fotio for our wedding a couple weeks ago and I think it was the best decision we made. Our guests may have liked the food, the event space, the music, etc… but all anybody is talking about is the photobooth!
If you’re looking for a non-​traditional photobooth, like we were — this is your place. There is no actual «booth,» so you have tons of space and can fit a lot of people into a photo (we have some where there were 15 or so cousins crammed in and they’re fabulous pictures). The Fotio staff were very welcoming and made the photobooth the place to be throughout the entire evening.
The quality of the photos is wonderful — there is so much depth, and everybody looks fantastic in that lighting. Fotio also sent us a thumb drive with various versions of the photos, including color versions.
The photos were all uploaded to Facebook by the next morning, so people were already going through and tagging themselves and their friends — just in time for us to start skimming through them and laughing at our morning-​after brunch.
I was also impressed that Nick from Fotio took the initiative to contact our event space, visit it the week before the wedding, and case out the best places to put the camera. He also accommodated my request that they move the camera halfway through the night to another spot so we could use a brick wall backdrop.
If I ever host another event in Chicago, Fotio will be there!

I just attended my brother-in-law’s wedding and they had a Fotio photo booth. It was thee most fun! Everyone had a blast and now we have tons of photo memories. The photo booth was open all night and of course the more drunk you become, the more you want to pose with your friends – instant model material.
It’s a beautiful, sleek design for photo booth – it’s not the typical clunky kind. You just pose and click. There is a slideshow of the photos of the night that plays on the Apple TV side so there’s instant gratification. The photos are beautiful black and white so everyone looks like a flawless movie star. You take a little red ticket that has the website information to access the photos within 24 hours – we woke up to awesome photos that we could pick through and save. Absolutely genius invention.
The owners were really awesome, too and were available to snap photos if your pose was involved.
If you’re going to have a party of any kind in the Chicago area, hire Fotio!!! Your guests will thank you for it!

From the initial email to the last 10 minutes of the night, Fotio was such a pleasure to work with. I was the one in charge of setting up a Photobooth for my work holiday party and after doing a bit of searching on the internet the right choice was right in front of my face.
The set up is so unique and so fun to work with. Everyone loved how you can control when the picture is taken yourselves from the click of a button. And the props made it even more spectacular. The perfect mixture of glasses, hats, word bubbles and more! And at the end of the event Nick didn’t seem in a rush to leave at all. He stayed till the last possible minute ensuring everyone could have a chance to get one last picture in. And we received all pictures at the end of the night on a flash drive. No waiting, no fuss, just perfect!
I hope to work with Fotio again in the future or at the very least be able to enjoy their services at another event. Thanks so much!

We had fotio at our wedding and our guests loved it! So did we. They were super easy to work with and I could not be happier with all the super fun pictures we got! You guys are awesome!

After scouring the internet for a photo booth that didn’t look hideous or out of place, we found Fotio. We spoke with Nick and Theresa and arranged all the details. They are both total professionals, but also two of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
For people that were tired of dancing, or wanted to take a break, Fotio gave them a way to still stay involved at the wedding. In fact, it gave everyone the chance to take the wedding picture of themselves they actually want to see. The best part is, they can, in real time. The pictures display on the back of the booth, to the delight of everyone. That’s what was so great about it, it isn’t just about the photos being taken, it’s about the experience of taking them with the people you love. It is engaging, fun, and totally low stress. We now have wonderful photos of my friends and family that I would never have been able to capture any other way.
At the end of the wedding, we were presented with a wood engraved USB that held all the high-​res photos in black and white and color. That evening, our photos were online for our friends and family to see, which was truly the icing on the cake.
