Fifth Third Bank

Do not take out an auto loan with them! I get a call every month about paying an amount that isn’t my monthly payment, they give you a «grace period» for your payment but still charge late fees, their website is out of date and constantly malfunctioning, their hard to get ahold of, no one that you talk to can ever give you an answer or help at all-​just refer you to someone else that will put you on hold for hours. I heavily regret using fifth third for my auto loan.

If I could give a negative I would. The employees that used to be here would get the job done, however since then its a mess and huge turn over a big no no in customer service. I have received reimbursement checks for ID theft program that was never activated but only paid me for 1 month and not the two years I was signed up for it! Now I have a manager, Taylor telling me she would love to reimburse me for a fee but she doesn’t have access. I call the call center and I am told yes they have to do it. Now I am on the phone for nearly 35 minutes for this mess. It’s time to move to another bank… I tried…

Good location with the worst clerk. Dont get help from Mario. He is asking you most dumb and unnecessary questions just to be look like a professional and steal your time.

AWFUL Bank!!! They recently locked me out of my account and there was literally NO way that I could get into my account, I tried the reset password option on the website and it told me I was not authorized to reset my password at this time and to call the number on the screen. I called the number listed which brought me to a lady saying «sorry you will have to call back Tuesday (long weekend) to talk to someone who is authorized to help you with this. I said no, transfer me to someone who can help me with this now but she said no one is there on the weekends to help with that type of thing. This was a Friday night. Thanks to them I got totally locked out of my accounts all weekend with zero access to my own money. I decided to go to a new bank and the first thing I asked this other bank was if this same situation was to happen to me with their bank would there be someone there to help me on a weekend or will I be locked out of my accounts all weekend. Turns out they actually have good customer service 7 days a week at the other bank. Hmm… seems like a no brainer to me.

I had a $ 150 offer for opening a checking account so I came and opened one up. The guy who assisted me was so nice and informative without being pushy about services. I had researched my options beforehand and was pleasantly surprised that he really did try to give me the best bundle of services. There was no upselling and he seemed genuinely interested in how best to serve my financial needs. I’ve always used online banks, but this Fifth Third branch makes me want to bank in person.

I’m a 5/3’er since I lived in Cincinnati and it was nice that moving to Chicago, there was one that’s right around the corner from where I live. With that said, I love that they have Saturday hours and their ATM is outside the building so no need to swipe in and out.
Tellers there are friendly and very nice. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a new bank or just moved to Lincoln Park and already use ⁵⁄₃.

They have been carrying my mortgage for 2 years now. There was an issue with the way in which they calculate the escrow. I called them to have them explain the higher payments and they were extremely rude. I asked to talk to a supervisor and they said that was not possible. It was really rotten customer service. I feel like having my loan refinanced so that It will not be necessary to every interact with them again.

Never thought I’d be leaving a 5 star review for a bank but here I am!
I’ve been banking with ⁵⁄₃ for approximately 6 years now and I have had no complaints whatsoever. I first opened my account in MI then switched over to IL once I moved here. I’ve been to a ton of their locations in the city, suburbs, etc. and I’ve always been very well taken care of no matter what my banking needs were.
The best customer service I’ve received thus far has been Michael Pinckney who works at this location. He has time and time again went above and beyond. I have numerous accounts with 5/​3, both personal and business so it’s hard for me to keep up with the rewards points, etc.
Every time my points accumulate enough for cash he informs me and sets up an account for me. How awesome! He has taken the time to sit down and go over how all of the accounts work, possible perks that may work for me, etc.
I have his direct number and any time I’ve ever called him for anything he takes the time to talk to me and get things done.
I would definitely recommend banking with ⁵⁄₃ and if you’re in the area, making this your branch.

This is the branch I started going to when I first moved to Lincoln Park. The tellers are always friendly and helpful. Ryan seems to be the person that helps me the most often. The transactions are consistently quick and smooth. I’m always asked if I want my balance and am always updated when changes in the bank are made. I would definitely recommend this branch to any of my friends or family.

Since moving to the LP, this has become my go to branch for my banking. It’s located conveniently near the corner of Diversey and Clark. The staff here provides excellent service and are friendly and personable. Waits are minimal, and a tv in the lobby provides the new of the day. They also have an ATM outside the building if you are just in need of some quick cash.
All of the tellers here are great, but I would recommend Ryan above all. He is friendly, professional and always makes sure I understand what is going on with my banking. He suggests products and services that I can actually use and doesn’t bombard me with everything the bank offers.
