Horrible. My appointment was at 9:15. Didn’t get taken back until 12:30! And then I still had to wait! At 2:30 I decided I couldn’t take it anymore and walked out. The only positive thing I will say is some of the staff is very friendly. Not all of them though. At one point one of the staff members came back and got one of the girls and said «(girls name) could you call your boyfriend he’s coming up to the window every 5 minutes to ask about you». Mind you the girl had been in the back for HOURS. There is also not much privacy here. It felt like an assembly line for abortions. It is clear they overbook like crazy. If you need free or reduced gynecological needs I would suggest going to planned parenthood.

Take my word about this — avoid at all costs
I was here for a Gynae visit but it’s clear abortions are their main focus. Also I waited 90 mins for an appt I made!!! Unacceptable

The procedure was handled swiftly & with care. Your body, your choice you do what’s right FOR YOU. All is well. Highly recommended!

Not too long ago, I found myself in an unexpected «situation», that I had not planned for, and was not ready for. My doctor referred me to the Washington Ave. clinic for a medical abortion. It wasn’t easy, or fun, but it was safe and comfortable. The place was clean and designed to provide a calming environment. The staff were sincere, and knowledgeable. I’d venture to say that no medical procedure is enjoyable, and that no doctor is ever going to be able to make something stressful into something else. But the clinic was not a factory, though busy, it certainly was not impersonal. A couple of days into the process, I thoroughly freaked myself out, and called the 24 hour help line. Twice. The on-​call doctor was kind, reassuring, and patient. Considering the circumstances, this clinic, and these professionals were all I could have hoped for, and more.

This was a horrible experience for me. The only good thing about this place was that there were no protesters outside. By the time I got there they had only been open for half an hour and they were already packed full of people. It took them 45 mins to call me in. That’s were it went all down hill. I’m not ashamed to say that I went there for an abortion. Don’t judge me, you don’t know my circumstances. After they asked me a few questions and took my money, they told my fiancé to go back to the waiting room and that I would return in an hour. It didn’t register to us that they were making me go through this alone. After they took my urine test and drew my blood I was put into what I call «the abortion assembly line». They take you to a room full of other girls (and I do mean girls, not women, almost all the other girls were in their very early teens) who are in those horrible blue paper gowns. You are put into a changing room and you must remove everything except for your socks and you put your clothing into a locker and keep the key on you. So here I was naked except for the paper gown, with ten teenagers who were also naked, and alone, as if the experience wasn’t uncomfortable enough. After sitting in this room, cold, alone, and scared you are taken to get your ultrasound and to have your cervix numbed, which I was told would be the most pain full part, and it only felt like a pinch, but it was a lie, it wasn’t the most pain full, it was the least. After that you are taken into yet another waiting room where I was at for 20 mins before I was taken into the actual room where it would happen. WARNING– this is going to get a little detailed! I was taken into the room by the nurse, who was an a-​hole. she had the nerve to ask me why my mother gave me such a hard name to pronounce and why I had kept the name (bitch), then she almost put me to sleep before she realized that I wasn’t going to sleep. She had already placed the heart monitors on me and was getting my I. V before she realized her mistake. However I kinda wished she would have realized it a little bit later. The doctor comes in and straps me to the table and raises in in the air and angles me backward so my head is pointed a little down. He then started to insert the dilators at a speed that was painful, and he didn’t stop when I told him it hurt he just told me it would be over quickly. Then it started, I’m not going into much detail but to say that I could feel, and hear everything. If i had turned my head I would have saw everything also. The pain brought tears to my eyes but all they did was tell me it was almost over. After he was done, the doctor lowered the table, looked at my tears and left. He said no more than three sentences to me. I was then walked to a little room and put by myself. The room was cold and a little dark except for a night table beside me. I was in pain and tears. I was given pain killers, graham crackers, and lemonade. All I wanted was my fiancé but I was denied that. After this room I was taken to the last room in my horrible journey. In this room I was told to eat more, and I was allowed to get dressed. They took my blood pressure and temperature (for the tenth time), gave me antibiotics, and birth control pills, and I was finally able to leave. When I was walked out I found my fiancé in anger and also in tears because they wouldn’t let him come to me and wanted to call the cops if he hadn’t settled down. I was in pain the rest of the day, and I was at home by 1pm so it was a very long rest of the day. It has been about ten weeks since all of this has happened, since then I have had periods of terrible cramps, huge blood clots (many the size of my palm), and every time I call with a complaint I am told I’m fine, I still haven’t had a period and I was told to wait another month. I’m ready to be done with them but I don’t recommend them to anyone. I say go to planned parenthood, they are a little more expensive but in this case the cheaper option isn’t worth it.

I just feel compelled to write a review of this place since my experience was ok as oppossed to the other review. I especially thought i should review since the other review mentioned Planned parenthood. I have been to fpa on two seperate occasions for the same thing and although there was nothing exceptional there was nothing horrible that happened either time. I will say I had the same reason for going to planned parenthood and had a HORRIBLE experience! so in comparison i would choose fpa over planned parenthood (lasalle).

I’ve gone to 2 of their 3 locations. I should really visit the other one on the south side to complete my holy trinity of gyno clinics. I was really sold by their website and my inquiry made via a phone call. I visited the one on north elston avenue. that one is really dank looking and harder to find for my non-​native self. This location was easier to find and get to. There is street parking or you can park across the street in a pay lot. They do all kinds of gyno services such as pap smears, std testing, etc. as well as abortions if you’re into that. Which I did NOT go for the latter, thank you very much in case you were thinking that. Please, I’m an Angel. A CLEAN, SPOTLESS, WARTLESS Angel sent from above.
It’s another version of planned parenthood really imo. I went on a saturday morning, it is busy and expect to see protesters. First there was one… then when I came out 20 minutes later there was atleast a dozen. They are agressive, shoving graphic pictures and pamphlets in your face and follow you if you cross the street… not like the peaceful fois gras protesters I’ve encountered before. Sort of. The other patient and I walked to our cars and we smiled at each other, amused by the agressiveness and persistance. There were no protesters at the elston one, probably cuz it was a weekday and they had jobs to go to.
ANYWAYS. the front desk was nice and somewhat personable but there’s a brunette lab technician that was a rude ass bitch after taking my blood. I was too tempted to tell her off or at the very least, smack her across the face. Home girl needs to just shoot up some heroin or the like, with all her needles there and just chill out. srsly. I really don’t see myself using their services in the future is the moral of the story. I used them cuz I didn’t have a regular doctor and gyno out here at the time. Don’t do it. find the time to find a place that will treat you with some respect and dignity. Or ya know, go to planned parenthood instead. I’m sure my scathing review won’t hurt their practice cuz it was pretty damn busy on a saturday morning up in that joint and they redirect you to another location if one is too busy when scheduling an appointment.
