Exec Cleaning & Maid Service

This business is terrible.
I’ve used this cleaning service probably 7 – 8 times over the past 8 months or so. Have used several cleaners, and some were better than others. I scheduled my last cleaning for a Saturday in January before I returned from my 2-​month overseas work trip, so I was not home during the cleaning (first time I wasn’t present for a cleaning through Exec). I requested a cleaner I used twice previously, but she was not available, so they sent someone else.
When I got home, the cleaning seemed to be up to par. However, I noticed that my perfume bottle, which has remained in the exact same area on my bathroom sink for the past year, was gone. I scoured my apartment hoping I had just misplaced it, but I remembered clearly that it was there when I left for my work trip. I had no choice but to report this theft incident to Exec.
While the automated email message to tell me my message had gone through comes timely, the actual responses from the customer service team are not. They said they would call her to ask about the incident. A week later, I hear nothing, so I follow up. They tell me she said she didn’t see a perfume bottle. I’m like, ok… why couldn’t you have told me this a week ago, and why did it take me following up with you? Next step was for me to file a claim and attach receipts/​documentation (who seriously keeps receipts for everything?). I do so and they said they would review and get back to me shortly.
One month later, I email them to follow up on the claim. They respond and said they’ve reviewed and will compensate me $ 78.74 and attached a link to
. Umm, I paid $ 120 for this perfume from Sephora, and again, WHY did it take a month and a follow up email from me to get a response??? It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Exec, you may need to consider 1) not hiring thieves, and 2) actually take your customers seriously when something like theft is involved. Shouldn’t have taken the length of time or my following up to prompt some action from you. Maybe you thought I would forget about it if I didn’t hear from you, but you got the wrong person. You lost a customer for life and I’ll make sure none of my friends use your service in the Chicago area.

I have never used a cleaning service before and was nervous to try one. My husband and I both work ridiculous hours and decided to give this company a try after buying a groupon.
Their service was fantastic! We had Ian W come. He was 15 min early and called before coming upstairs. He asked if I had any preferences before he started and then got right to work. He was thorough, efficient and got into all the little corners I sometimes ignore when I’m in a rush. My 1 bedroom apartment feels great after his work.
I did spend 30 min clearing off counters/​desks/​floor space so it was obvious what areas needed cleaning and which I didn’t want touched.
I highly encourage this service (or at least this worker at this service) to anyone else!

I booked a four hour cleaning with Exec after purchasing a groupon. Our cleaner had some minor difficulties finding our place, and she arrived 15 mins late. No big deal. When she arrived, we gave her a walk through of our place to make sure she understood areas that we wanted cleaned. They were pretty standard– dusting surfaces like entertainment center, dresser, etc. We also told her we wanted our baseboards cleaned. I left to do an errand while she was cleaning, but my husband stayed at our place. 2 hours and 45 minutes into her cleaning, my husband texted me and told me that she left the cleaning early. When I came home, there were areas of my house that we discussed that she didn’t even touch. Our entertainment center is still completely dusty and our baseboards still have dirt on them. What a complete ripoff. After waiting on hold with the company, I finally talked to someone who apologized and offered us a 2 hour cleaning credit. I’m a little underwhelmed by this response since it means that I still paid for the 2 hours and 45 minutes that she was there and my place is STILL dirty. Will definitely NOT be using this company again.

Just had a young man come and clean my 2bed 2bath apartment. I purchased a 3hr cleaning service via groupon and knew 3 hrs was not enough to do the large apartment. I told him that and said I only expected the kitchen, bathrooms and floors cleaned. No need to do the bedrooms, living room, dust, make beds, etc. Given this was an acceptable request, I expected a job well done. This was not the case. After I did a walk through, I found dusty corners, areas of the floor that weren’t washed at all, dirt in various places, stains, dust bunnies, etc. The floor in the second bedroom wasn’t even touched… not vacuumed, not washed. The compact vacuum he brought wasn’t strong enough to get the rugs clean. All in all, I spent about an hour cleaning after he left. Its definitely better than before he came but not much… certainly not what you expect when you’re paying someone. I called to complain and the customer service rep was very nice and understanding. She offered to send someone more experienced to correct the situation. I really appreciate that kind of customer service so we will see what the second cleaning brings..

I wrote a bad review a few months ago because someone from the cleaning team stole from my bedside drawer-​a very precious sentimental piece of jewelry. I took my review down because the company did the right thing and reimbursed me for my loss. But frankly I’m still pissed. Every time I look into my bedside drawer I’m reminded of the thievery. They did a good job cleaning, the girls were nice and the clean was thorough. And I did trust one of the girls who came to my place consistently. But really, I want my ring back. I won’t be using them again and can’t recommend them.

Summary: Could have done the cleaning on my own in a few hours. Focus seemed to be more on tidying than real cleaning.

Upon first returning to my apartment it appeared that everything was neat and clean. However upon further inspection I realized there was a lot of focus on presentation (i.e., straightening books on desk and folding blankets on couch) but not a lot of attention to cleaning detail. One bedroom carpet still had a lot of hair on it, the corners of the room were dusty, the kitchen sink had gunk on it, and the floors were not spotless. What really bothered me though and the reason I gave three stars was the kitchen countertops. They were covered in dust and even had some food gunk on them (I have pictures). To me something as simple as kitchen countertops should have been spotless.
All in all my roommate and I could have done what they did in a few hours.

What a ripoff.
I just called to book a cleaning of our empty condo prior to our renters moving in this weekend. It is a small 2 bed/​2 bath (800 square feet). I explained that it is empty, pretty clean (we cleaned after we moved out), but that we want to have a professional make sure it is sparkling for our new tenants.
They quoted a move-​in clean price of $ 258. This is insanity. She explained that they could do a «regular» clean for half the price, but that would not include the fridge, walls, baseboards, closets, cabinets, stove/​oven, or blinds.
I explained there is NO FURNITURE in the unit, therefore there is no dusting involved, and asked if we can swap the fact that there is no furniture for some of those services (like closets and baseboards… since that is all there IS to clean) and they said no.
Save your money and go elsewhere!

I just don’t agree with the other reviews for this service. They did an ok job but nothing fantastic. I wish they would have spent less time folding the corners of the toilet paper and making our bed look like one from a hotel and more time actually cleaning. I found quite a few places that they didn’t even bother cleaning even though I specified those areas. I won’t use them again.

Exec’s website is very simple and easy to navigate. Simply fill in the zip code and numbers of bedrooms and bathrooms. A quote will be processed and it’s certainly an amount leaning towards the pricier part of the spectrum.
I scheduled for a Tuesday 2:30pm appointment. The Exec crew finished their morning job a bit early, so they were able to move my appointment up to 12:30pm instead. They promptly informed me and ask for permission for the time change.
I would like to start out by saying my home was in a mess that’s unimaginable to a normal person. The Exec crew did an exceptional job in cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living room, floors, and walls. There was not a speck of dust or sticky stain to be found. It was three hours of scrubbing, rubbing, wiping, and dusting. Even the beds were made!
One star was deducted because I had to make three appointments to have one job done. The first two appointments were set for a Saturday morning and afternoon. Both times were cancelled because one of the crew members were ill or had an emergency. They were very apologetic and the reasons given were acceptable. But I must say I nearly had to wait over a 2-​month span to have my appointment/​job completed.

We’ve tried a bunch of cleaning services in Chicago and we finally found an awesome one. The online scheduling is terrific and fast, and they text you a reminder when they’re on their way. Exec cleaning was the most efficient, cost-​effective cleaning service I’ve ever experienced. From the initial booking online to the final outcome, the entire process was seamless and easy for anyone to use.
First off, booking the cleaning was the easiest thing ever. You literally fill out a couple quick items online, pick your cleaning date and input any instructions. The most convenient thing is that you have the option to be at the apartment, or for working professionals like me, you can hide a key!
In terms of the cleaning process, I got a text of their prompt arrival at 10am, 4 hours later (my place must have been real dirty…) I got a text that my house was clean and that they had left. Walking into my apartment was like walking into a new home… I’m not exaggerating when I say EVERYTHING was perfectly cleaned and spotless. Standard household cleaning essentials like floors, behind the toilet, tub, dusting, were obviously done. But Francis and team went beyond that and did things like clean the lint out of my bedside fan, the inside of my stove and microwave, washed down my walls, dusted palm frans, and even cleaned inside cupboards! Lastly, they washed my bedding and made my bed… I haven’t had that done since I was living with Mom. Kudos!
Overall, I would 100% recommend this service to anyone who not only doesn’t have the time to maintain their house, but someone who just now and then wants a deep clean of everything — kind of a restart on your household chores. It’s a small investment (around $ 127 for 2 bedrooms including tip) for a great return.

Booking the service is very convenient through their website or mobile app and they offer the options for cleaning while you are away (just let them know where the key is and how they should get in to your place). Confirmation and reminders of your booking are delivered through emails and text messages, along with notifications of when the cleaners are on their way, when they started the cleaning and when they finished. Perfect for if you are not at home and want to stay updated.
Cost of cleaning is based on the location of your residence, number of bedrooms, bathrooms etc., and is all inclusive, i. e it includes tip, parking, transportation etc. The cleaning is done by 2 – 3 cleaners, which makes it a lot faster. My 2BR 2Bath condo was cleaned by two cleaners in 2h 30m and costed $ 157. I’ve used other hourly maid/​cleaning services and they usually try to work as slow as possible in order to bill you for longer. On the flip side, you usually find fixed price jobs done in haste and quality of service is usually compromised. This was definitely not the case with Exec Cleaning.
The two cleaners did a fantastic job of cleaning every nook and corner of my condo. They had their own cleaning supplies, high powered vacuum, mop/​swiffer, but it helps if you have your own supplies as well, or specific supplies that you prefer to use. I was impressed by the extra attention to detail and patience by which my place was cleaned. At the end of the cleaning, my place felt like walking in to a hotel room that has just been cleaned by house keeping. My bed was neatly made, towels in the bathroom folded, clothes not in my closet were also folder and neatly sorted on my bed. I’m sure if I used this service regularly and gave them adequate instructions, they would have even placed my clothes in the appropriate place in my closet.
Like another reviewer said, even if you get your car washed regularly, you do need that detailing service done every once in a while. Although Exec Cleaning is on the expensive side, I can see myself using them every now and them for that extra level of cleaning needed to maintain my home.
A tip for future users of this service — be as explicit with your instructions and they will accommodate your needs. Be sure to tell them of your preferences, what you want cleaned (under a table or behind a couch, top of the fridge etc), what you dont want cleaned (if any), what to do with dishes, clothes etc. Hidden spots like an extra closet or balcony that you want cleaned etc.

I’ll make this brief because I had to reschedule, but when they say they’re going to send two workers and only one shows up and says the other just left with a family emergency, I wasn’t happy. I set aside 2 ½ hours to be home and then the one worker asked if she could still work. I’m testing out maid services for an every two week to monthly job at my place, so I wanted to see the real service. Why wasn’t I phoned immediately before I let someone up into my apartment? It’s a bargaining chip to get into the door to make me feel awkward and I didn’t like how it went down. She called her manager immediately though, but only after asking me three times if she could still clean.
Now I have to reschedule to Friday at 9am from a Sunday at 12:15 which means I have to miss work. Very frustrating, but they did comp me back and I supposedly got a 50% discount on my cleaning services. I’ve yet to see the invoice, but I’m keeping it at two stars until this Friday to see how well they do. Fingers crossed I get two people who show up this time. =)
UPDATE: Last Friday I had two people come out. However, it one was not the original person that was sent on the notification. The cleaning was done very well and it went over by an hour, but I had never had the place professionally cleaned before. I was happy with the service. My bathroom was a mess and I definitely told them to start there. I wish there was more attention to the floor (done last obviously), but they had put in a lot of work already.
Bathroom was great. Honestly was a mess and now looks spotless. Moved some things around in the other rooms, but that’s typical. They did a great job of getting things back to their original position after having to move a lot of things. Nothing damaged and very polite workers. Texts were a great way to keep me posted. I don’t need a call really that they’re here or leaving, so that was a very nice touch of modern communication that I enjoyed.
I do like to mention that their staff reached out to me via email after my original 2 star review as I appreciated that. Some may think it’s their way of getting people to change their reviews, but I see it as a company being on top of things. I would use them again in the future.

We were in dire need of a cleaning service before the holiday weekend since we were staging our condo and doing professional pictures before we listed our condo up for sale. Almost all the cleaning services we contacted were unresponsive or not available in such short notice. Exec cleaning service has an excellent online scheduling system. I was able to plug in my address with what my cleaning needs were and I was able to choose available appointment times they had. This was a big plus in my book. Online scheduling was convenient and quick. On top of that, I was able to redeem a Unilocal offer ($ 80 for $ 110 of services) they had available.
About an hour prior to my scheduled service, I received a text that the team of two cleaners were on their way. At my scheduled time, one of the cleaners arrived. She explained that the other cleaner was unable to make it, but that they would have another team come to help her. She asked what my cleaning needs were. Since this was the first time we have had our condo professionally cleaned, I wasn’t sure what directives I was suppose to give. I told her I wanted everything that was included in the cleaning and I pointed out some things I could think off the top of my head that I wanted to be cleaned, ex: top of ceiling fans, behind couch. She started right away in the kitchen. A few minutes later I got a phone call from Exec telling me what I already knew: one of the original cleaners wasn’t available so they would send another team. It wasn’t until two hours later that the other team arrived. I think because of the circumstances, the team felt a bit rushed. One of the cleaners had to leave by a certain time because of parking.
Overall the cleaning team did a satisfactory job. From the list on Exec’s website of services that were included in a first time cleaning, they DID NOT clean the following:
light switches
door handles
base boards
molding
window sills
grout
Like I mentioned earlier, it seemed like they were just thrown off by the circumstances of the day. From start to finish, my cleaning lasted three hours and thirty minutes. They did ask if I liked the cleaning job, and from first glance I said yes. I didn’t realize I should have compared the list of what was offered on the website at that time. But I would think that the cleaners would have known to check off that list since that is what is advertised.

I am still going to rate them 5-​stars besides a slight complication. My original appointment had to be cancelled due to a cleaner being sick, which is obviously outside their control. Exec was extremely quick and proactive. Communication was responsive and I felt like I was given priority. We were able to schedule a cleaning 3 days later. :)
The cleaning itself was excellent. Everything felt sanitized and shiny! They even got under some of the furniture. There were a few streaks that I had to spot clean but thats because I am a little OCD.
All furniture was dusted, bathrooms were spotless, the kitchen was nice, floors looked good and all the dog hair hjad been cleansed from the house. I felt really pleased with the level of service and the two gentlemen who completed it.
If I had any other comment its that I really enjoyed my last cleaner who would use a real mop. I feel that the real mop gets more off the floor than the advanced swiffer style mop they were using. Mop and towel dry would have made it 6 stars :)

I had the pleasure of having my pad cleaned by Frances, Rebekah and Anthony. The trio were all very friendly, efficient, professional, and sensitive to the fact of being in someone else’s personal space! They placed booties over their shoes as they walked in the door, scoped out the place, asked what goals I had after I gave them a quick tour, and they jumped to business. Once they were finished, they showed me what they had completed and asked if there were any adjustments to be made (for instance, I noticed a few linen strings and dust particles still on my master bedroom carpet, and they passed the vacuum over it a second time with no complaints or huffs).

Hallelujah! I have finally found a cleaning service that is reliable, efficient, and professional. And they sure did a fiiiine job.
Like other homeowners in Chicago, I have searched high and low for a cleaning service. Craigslist is great for some things but I wouldn’t trust someone from there to come into my home. Referrals have been my go to for this but it requires so much effort and is pretty inconvenient.
And then, there was Exec! Let me break it down:
1) Easy online booking: One of the best features of Exec. Super easy, super convenient. Booking up to 2 weeks in advance. You can also sign up for a cleaning every 2 weeks or 1 week.
2) Reminders: They send you an email reminder the day before, a text that the cleaners are on the way, have started cleaning, and are done cleaning. Again, great communication and love that they let me know what’s going on.
3) Cleaning: Professional, very thorough, cleaned every corner, very satisfied. My home was sparkling clean when they were done!
4) Cleaning team: consisted of two people. I was home when they came to clean and the cleaners I had were extremely friendly, asked me if I had any particular places I would like them to pay more attention to, were polite the entire time and also very efficient.
5) CHOCOLATES: You guys probably don’t care to hear about this part but to me, this speaks volumes to their professionalism and commitment to service. At the end of the cleaning, they leave you a card that tells you what they’ve cleaned and chocolate squares. Yum yum. Love the small touches like this!
6) Customer Service: Last and most importantly, customer service was excellent. 200% guarantee — if you’re not satisfied, you get a free cleaning. Tristan from Exec was very fast with replying my emails when I initially had questions about Exec. Great, great customer service.
Exec, you have earned a loyal customer. I will be booking many more cleanings with them and recommending them to all my friends.

As a homeowner, I’m a firm believer that having a monthly maid service is crucial in maintaining a clean home. No matter how much of a clean freak you are, you always need that deep cleaning. Think about when you get a car wash. You’ll get a car wash once a week, but occasionally you need to get it detailed.
Exec is kinda like the auto detailers for your home. They do all the dirty work that you don’t want to do.
A few of my friends from San Fran told me about this on-​demand maid service that just launched in Chicago, so I decided to give it a shot. I do have a a regular maid service that comes in every month, but for the price they quoted me, it was worth a shot!
So how do you find a reputable & reliable maid service? Well from my experience, it took about 3 – 4 maids before I finally found the right one. The only place I looked was on Craigslist, and believe me, some of these people sound shady as hellllllllllllll. They’ve been featured in the most prominent news publications like Forbes and all that good stuff.
They organize, vacuum, wipe, polish, dust, pretty much everything you can think of. The only thing they don’t do is clean the inside of your fridge & oven. Oh yeah, and they don’t clean your closet. But when I came back home after a long days of work, my place was spotless!
So what did I do next? Made a few phone calls to my lady friends and invited them over to my place to watch a movie in my new spanking clean bachelors pad. DUH!

Exec is like the Amazon Subscribe and Save of the cleaning world — you create an account, select «Every 2 weeks,» and BOOM — your place is always clean. The price of cleaning my 3-​bedroom apartment ($ 147) is competitive with services I used in the past but the quality is far superior.

Exec is the solution to a very common problem: finding someone to clean your house. In my experience, finding a cleaning person is a huge struggle. Its scary to let someone you don’t know into your home (and potentially not be there). I’ve tried asking around for recommendations which has panned out but requires a lot of effort and now that I recently moved to a new city, I’d have to make friends and then ask them for cleaning service recommendations. Ugh — way too much work!
From start to finish, coordinating with Exec was simple and probably took me a total of 10 minutes. I scheduled a cleaning online (all I had to enter was my address and apt information — no long forms required!), left my keys with my doorman, and then received texts from the cleaning service the day of. When I returned, my house smelled great, looked great, and they even left me a chocolate! Full service!
In addition to the ease of the service, the great thing about Exec is that they work to screen and train candidates and they have been featured in Forbes, NYT, etc. — which seems far more legit than the random lady I worked with before. After my cleaning, they followed up with me to make sure that I was satisfied (which I was) but I imagine if there any issues, they would fix them right away since the service is 100% guaranteed.
