Epic Burger

Today, service was the key. Granted, it was prior to the lunch rush, but the staff went absolutely out of their way to make this an enjoyable visit. For that, I will be back every time I’m in Chicago… which is about every three weeks.
I ordered an Epic burger and fries… no big deal. But right after my food came out, I received a work call. I stepped over by the window, where it was a little quieter. After taking the call for about 15 min, I sat back down. Having noticed I was away for a while from my food, the employee insisted on bringing me out a fresh order of fries. I said no, it was my fault they were Coke, but he insisted. A+ customer service there. And to top it off, as he dropped off my fresh order of fries, and headed back, the manager was walking by, and said «Nice job.» to him. Are you kidding me? Not only was this phenomenal service, a restaurant manager who recognizes it, and encourages an employee for that behavior.
I’m a sales manager for a medical device company, and I often don’t see other managers recognize things like that, and encourage that behavior. Well done guys!

pretty good burger and nice people but the burgers are kind of small for the price. I figured a regular burger would’ve been enough for being almost $ 10 but it wasnt. and I’m a skinny guy. all in all its an ok place if your willing to pay almost $ 20 for a burger with fries and a drink.

I’ve been told about this place before. «It will change your life» they said. They weren’t joking. Food is amazingly fresh and delishes. The service is great and always with a smile. Their signature epic burger is the bomb! Thank you Epic Burger!

I had a classic burger with cheddar cheese avocado, grill onions etc. Very tasty like l remembered from last time l was here however, the 5 dollar shake was a total let down.
I mean, it was supposed to be chocolate and was really chocolate «hint». It was sooo think imposible to enjoy. Literally l ended up throwing it away, and to me that is never happened in my life. I was truly craving a savory chocolate shake… not here.
The place was crowded and the service was very friendly which it makes it easy to overlooked the minor details. Perhaps l just got a bad weak batch. Who knows. I will be back but l will pass on the shakes.

What struck me most about this place was how friendly everyone was… like they took a happy pill before coming to work. And how quickly our order was taken and the food delivered to the table. Which was a big positive, because we were starving when we walked in.
These burgers aren’t for everyone. If you live dangerously and like yours thick and pink inside, this is not the place for you. If (like me), you like them flatter and cooked through, you won’t be disappointed.
Not sure if the stuff dripping from my cheeseburger was juice or grease, but I really didn’t care because it tasted so good. Lots of bun options… I chose the wheat bun, and it tasted freshly baked. My friend’s grilled cheese with bacon was a big hit. Neither of us cared for the fries, which were soft.
I try to stick to organic and non-​GMO at home, but it’s difficult when eating out. Which is why I’m putting Epic on my radar. It’s my new go-​to place when I’m in the mood for a casual meal and a burger. Especially since this location has a free parking lot.

good, fresh burger and fries, promptly brought to the table. Bunless option for all of their burger varieties. Guy at the register super friendly and greets everyone with a winning smile and attitude. He even predicted what drink I wanted based on my order!

Super fast, great service and pretty cheap. The fries are to die for and the burger is fresh and delicious — definitely coming back when shopping in this area — awesome sauce!

Second time here and the food is amazing, as always.
It’s such a hidden gem. In a great, highly populated area, but beat the traffic and get free parking every time at this place. Will be back for sure!

Came back for a chocolate shake last week while making a shopping run nearby. Still like the price, but the quality of this shake has fallen back to earth for me… it’s fine, and a good fit if I’m blowing cash in the stores at this parking lot (Best Buy, West Elm, etc.). I would never go out of my way to get a shake here; Burger Bar crushes this one in terms of quality and is more worthy of a drive only to get the shake. Still need to try the burger/​fries but purely for dessert, investigate your other options before settling here.

This is one of the friendliest burger places in Chicago. The Food is awesome and the staff is very friendly. It’s the kind of place you want to come back again and again.

The service at this location is what sets it apart. The food is just okay, especially for the price, but everyone is always extremely friendly and helpful and seem to enjoy their work here. It’s a nice vibe that you don’t often find at a fast-​food kind of place.

Their burgers are AMAZING! Whenever I go, I gotta get the double Turkey Burger, it’s a can’t miss burger. You can’t forget about the freshly cut fries and I always gotta get a smoothie to go with it that they make on the spot with REAL fruit, no fake stuff. You can’t go wrong with the «P.B. Enjoy» that’s made with peanut butter and banana or the «Milk & Honey» that’s made with banana, almonds & honey.
And don’t forget, make sure you say «YES» when they ask you for their «EPIC» sauce, it’s not an «EPIC BURGER» without the «EPIC» sauce!

I really like this burger joint for a few reasons:
++ Ingredients are procured with thought and care (organic, local, etc)
++ It’s all a la carte style so less time spent telling cashier what you don’t want and more time saying what you do
++ Bunless burger is damn near perfect in terms of tastiness and Nutrition
++ Fried egg, avocado, above-​average bacon, grilled and fresh onion, pickle, and more options including a few different cheeses (NOT cheese-​like product)
Service is swift and they control waste nicely by not serving on a bunch of necessary plastic crap.
Excellent overall.

My first time here. I found the staff to be attentive, nice, and helpful. I had a turkey burger with cheddar cheese and green onions with their «epic sauce». I added fries also. The burger was great and wasn’t dry like most turkey burgers. The sauce, like an aioli, was good also. I’m not a big French fries type a guy, but tonight I was speaking French cuz I ate most of mine. The only reason they didn’t get a 5 star rating was that they charge for almost every ingredient – from the cheese, advocado and etc. Also my friend had their yogurt/​soy milkshake, which they claim is 35% fewer calories, and he thoroughly enjoyed yet. Probably most cuz he doesn’t feel too guilty drinking it, and he’s not passing gas all over the place #Lactoseintolerant

We’ve been to the Epic Burger in the South Loop for years and always loved it. So when we visited this Epic Burger, after a long hiatus from eating at the chain, were expecting some awesome burgers. BUT this experience was far from it.
We were surprised to see that prices had gone up from $ 5.99 to $ 6.49 — everything had gone up in the 1.5 years we had been gone. They now had more offerings — a Skinny Shake, which was tasty, and they also had convenient combos to order. They also fruit smoothies, which I did not expect, but was pleasantly surprised to see. The disappointment came when our burgers arrived. We got the Epic Burger with a hard egg add combo (with fries and skinny shake). Also go the Chicken Burger, as was my usual. Disappointing. The buns were both toasted to the point of being burnt. The buns didn’t taste like the delicious buttered bread like they always used before. The meat was way overcooked to dryness, and the chicken was much, much thinner than it had been before. Both the ground meat and the chicken were incredibly dry. The burger itself also seemed smaller than we remembered.
The fries and shake were what saved the meal, but the burgers themselves were nowhere close to the standard they’ve built for themselves. Hopefully this is only specific to this Epic Burger store.

Brandon was amazin. He went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. I can’t recall the last time I received such service. This location is far from where I live, but don’t mind driving to this location. I’m a sucker for great service and great food.

I love the turkey burgers at Epic burger and the food is always made fresh to order. The only downfall about this location is if you go during busy lunch or dinner time, seating can be limited. The staff was friendly and offered to grab me extra condiments and took my trash for me whe I was finished with my meal.

I was very excited to try Epic Burger, but I was unfortunately let down. I ordered the Epic Burger Classic with avocado (+$ 1) and a fried over easy egg (+$.79). I would have ordered cheese but that would be another dollar. What kind of burger place doesn’t offer at least ONE slice of free cheese?!
My friend ordered a bunless burger. By this point things were already going downhill… still at the register. The cashier was extremely confused, despite the fact that there was a bunless burger on their menu. On top of this she messed up my order completely. All of the toppings I got she forgot to put on, and then proceeded to swipe my card several times to charge me for it.
When my food finally came out, I found my $.79 over easy egg to be well over cooked. There was way more burger than bun, and the patty was not even well seasoned. My $ 1 avocados were lost in the epic fail. The only thing that tasted okay was the free (!) grilled onions. The fries were good, but of course our lovely cashier did not put in the order, so they came half way through the burgers.
Bottom Line: Skip the worthless add-​ons, or just this place in general. The food and service was not epic at all! If you must just get fries, and a cup of grilled onions.

While out shopping we stopped into Epic Burger. This was our second visit to this location.
Pros:
The service is fairly fast, order food then within 5 – 8 minutes food is delivered to your table.
Small easy to choose menu, pick your meat, topping, and bun. Then throw on a side or add a shake and your ready to roll.
The turkey burger with egg was pretty good. I’d venture to say the egg was cooked a little better than the burger. I am not a fan of the epic sauce, nothing wrong with it just a personal preference.
Cons:
Tables were a little sticky and the condiment containers had some build up around them. Generally speaking the restaurant was clean but there were opportunities.
Price is a negative to me. Everything is considered an add on. If you are craving bacon, cheese, and avocado get ready to watch you bill grow. While the ingredients are fresh and I’m sure things aren’t getting any cheaper for restaurants it’s still pretty steep if compared to local competitors.
Overall I think Epic Burger is above average and I would recommend giving it a shot. I doubt I would make a special trip, but if I needed a burger and it was convenient I would stop in.
