Well I’ll be a sonofagun.
Here’s what happened. I am a (small-​time) landlord. And for the first time in forever, I was having trouble renting a unit in one of my buildings in Logan Square. So I called Dumas (they’re in the hood, and Id seen their signs).
No joke, 48 hours later, Stacie Dumas had collected two applications, and I had signed a lease with one of the tenants. Not an exaggeration. Also, she did all the work, the signs, took pictures, qualified the tenants, prepared the lease, blablabla. All of it, start to finish. Homegirl knows her stuff.
I’ve never before used a realtor to rent a property for me – but Stacie and the team at Dumas (its a family affair) crushed it.
5 stars all the way, and three cheers for Stacie especially.

I was on my way to get a haircut and at the corner of California and Fullerton passed a Senior Woman needing assistance getting her «heavy» laundry to the laundromat. I being the nice guy I am assisted this Lady. After finishing that good deed I walked out of the laundromat and across the street was Nikki Dumas & Associates.
Rock Star is all I can say.
Walked in and and stated what I was looking for. Twenty minutes later I was on my way with twice daily emails sending me listings of Condos in my range and comfort level.
A few days later I was out looking with Nikki an her sister. Total comfort in the process.
1 month later I have found, bid, won and occupied my New Condo.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of working with Rena to find our new apartment. I was referred to Rena through a friend and I’m so glad that I reached out to her. She immediately followed up with listings and stayed on top of her game! We met on a Saturday afternoon and were given her un-​divided attention. She is super friendly and professional. We are newcomers to city-​living, so we needed that extra push. My boyfriend and I love our place and the process was seamless thanks to Rena!

Dumas is the best! I worked with Rena and she could not have been nicer. She sent me numerous listing to look through before we even met in person (I was referred to her). When we did meet she was more than willing to put in a ton of effort driving around to multiple place and was extremely patient considering I was quite picky. When I finally found the place I liked she stayed at her office till 8pm on a saturday getting all the paper worked faxed in. That place fell through because the listing agent wasn’t being truthful and she helped me to find another place that I liked even more! She was professional, dedicated and a pleasure to work with. I have recommended Dumas & Associates and Rena especially to other friends. You can’t go wrong here!

Terrible experience.
I had an appointment with Rena to see a studio on Milwaukee and she NO SHOWED. This appointment was made and confirmed 5 days prior. Not only was I left waiting outside the unit for 20 minutes until I finally decided to call Dumas Realty directly, but I did not receive an apology, written or verbal, to remedy the mistake. Additionally, my appointment was booked the same time as 10 other people (who were also left waiting), which I find to be completely unprofessional. This may not be an issue for some — fight til the death, if you will, for an apartment — but I prefer to have my own appointment, in line with other applicants in the order in which they inquired. I would also like to mention the lack of consideration this displays for the tenant who is already living in the unit being shown who has to welcome 12 strangers into his/​her home all at once.
Wouldn’t recommend it. Though I would recommend upper management to have a word with Rena.

My wife had worked directly with Nikki and her husband on creating a Yoga studio. I can honestly they are the best. We love them and they really worked with us. They really do know how to make dreams come true. They are real people that care, listen and work hard to make sure you are taken care of.

Great place to rent from. Property manager is awesome and always responds immediately.

I’ve rented from Dumas for the past few years, and I’ve been very pleased with them. They are friendly, responsive and they take good care of their properties and tenants.
They have current rental and sale listings posted on their office on California. I am not sure if they rent throughout the city, but I do know they rent in the Bucktown and Logan Square area.
In the event that I move, I would look at their other rentals before shopping around. I know from experience how hit or miss Chicago rental agencies can be, so finding a good one is a treasure I plan on staying with.
I highly recommend.

I can honestly say that, until recently, I had the best landlady in the world — great apartment right on «Restaurant Row» in Logan Square, fair rent, quick attention to problems, etc. etc. So why did I move and buy my house? BECAUSE I had the best landlady in the world!
Marie Skopis, landlady and Realtor extraordinaire, recalled when I moved in that I really wanted to buy a house. She was also familiar with the kind of house I wanted, having been friends with my old landlord when I lived in my crazy house on Campbell. So, when she came across a kooky old house in Humboldt Park, she thought of us. We saw the house and the rest is history.
What sets Marie apart from other Realtors is her patience and attention to a buyer’s needs — as first time buyers (and under a rent to own arrangement), we really had no idea what we were doing and plagued her with phone calls and e-​mails, all of which she patiently and promptly responded to. Marie made sure we understood every step of the process and really went above and beyond to help us with our unorthodox arrangement. She made a complicated process seamless through her efforts. Furthermore, the house she found for us could not have been more perfect for us — she really listens and remembers what her clients need. She is helping our old neighbors house hunt too and they have had the same experience — Marie listens and isn’t going to waste your time pushing houses you aren’t interested in. Instead, she has a knack for knowing what each client really wants — she isn’t your typical Realtor at all! In fact, my experience with the entire Dumas team was great ~ these guys are really terrific!
Whether you are looking to buy, sell, or even rent, I can’t recommend Marie and Dumas Associates highly enough. Friendly, responsive, helpful, and a great landlady to boot!

Ugh. The realtor I dealt with (Patrizia) was awful. Unprofessional from the very beginning.
