Dr. Shanicka Williams is a family practice physician who treats pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the ambulatory clinic. Dr. Williams also provides personalized home visits for disabled and elderly patients who may have difficulty getting out of the house to go to the doctor.

Divine Aesthetics Medspa & Wellness Center accepts most insurance, medicare, medicaid & cash payments.

We also specialize in aesthetic and relaxing methodologies to help you manage your way through a stressful week. We offer massage therapy and skin care to complete all aspects of health and wellness. The spa will reopen spring 2015 (April 1st)!

History

Established in 2013.

Divine Aesthetics Medspa & Wellness Center was born out of the desire to create an environment that married Western with Eastern forms of healing. We believe that in order to foster a healthy lifestyle, mind, body and spirit must all be nurtured. We aim to create an atmosphere of peace and serenity whether the individual is in to see the doctor or pampering themselves with spa services.

Business Owner

Dr. Shanicka Williams is a graduate of University of Illinois — College of Medicine in 2009 and completed Family Medicine Residency Program at Advocate Christ Medical Center in 2012. Since then she has gained invaluable experience as a traveling physician and has worked in a federally qualified health center servicing the uninsured and underinsured.

In her spare time, she likes to volunteer at her church, Salem Baptist Church of Chicago with various ministries, including the Young Adult Ministry, the Youth Ministry, as well as serve as chair of the Health Ministry. She enjoys quality time with her friends, family, and two dogs.

Dr. Williams’ passion for servicing people through direct patient care and health education is evident in all that she does. She is a firm believer in treating each patient as an individual, and providing services tailored to foster each individual’s well being.

I love her! My experience with Dr. Williams was quite pleasant. She has a down to earth and patient demeanor that so many doctors I’ve encountered lack.
Yeah, she utilized the internet in order to give me accurate information on the side effects of a particular medication that I was going to try. I honestly appreciated the fact that she actually researched her answer to my question. I rather a physician do a quick google search instead of just spewing inaccurate rubbish from the top of his/​her head.
Because of my health issues, I’ve had the unfortunate task of interacting with tons of doctors. Dr. Williams is one of the few good ones.

So many things were wrong with my recent visit to Dr. Williams.
1. The office building was extremely run down and dirty.
2. When you go into the exam rooms in Dr. Williams’ office, there is only a thin, pleated door on the room with a one-​foot gap at the bottom, so essentially everything you are talking about can be heard throughout the office.
3. When you have to pee in a cup, there is NO bathroom in her office. You have to walk out into the building hallway, up a flight of stairs and use a public bathroom. You then have to walk back down holding a cup of pee and bring it back to her office.
4. When asking for her professional opinion on different medications, she has to Google them on her phone and read off the side effects.
5. When your appointment is over, she immediately walks you into the adjoining skin care office to try and up-​sell you on her friend’s business without asking you first.
6. She’s impossible to get a hold of. My ID and health insurance were left in her office and when I tried to retrieve it I had to leave messages and wait for a call back two days later when she was in the office again. Then after some miscommunication, I took a pointless trip back to her office (during the office hours listed on her site) to find out she had already left and just put them in the mail.
This is all really unfortunate because she did actually have a nice beside manner and seemed very pleasant when I first showed up. But after all these things happen in your first visit, you just feel like you went to a fake doctor.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Williams and her practice. My first time walking in, I was a bit surprised at the small size of the office, but having the doctor greet me while I was waiting made a very good first impression. Registration was easy, not much different than any other office. There was no wait time, other than the few minutes it took me to fill out the required paperwork. Once Dr. Williams was ready to see me, she brought me to a room right behind the check-​in desk.
The room itself was nice, and lacked the cold feeling of many other offices. The patient bed was also more comfortable than the ones I’m used to. However, the room is less important than the doctor, who was absolutely wonderful. She did all the initial assessment steps herself, rather than having an assistant talk to me and report back to her. She spent time with me, answering every question I had in a professional, informative manner. Not once did I feel rushed or like I was an annoyance, which I very well might have been with how many questions I had. Dr. Williams was even willing to talk to me about her education and other personal matters, which surprised me. She felt more like a person who I could sit down and chat with, rather than a typical doctor who sees you for a minute or two and leaves the room.
All in all, I was thoroughly impressed with the Doctor’s practice, her patient assessment skills, and her personal manner. Never have I felt so comfortable with a doctor before. I do believe I’ve found a new PCP.

My experience was a disgusting one. There are sooo many redflags about this doctor and her «new» business that I ignored trying desperately to give her a shot because of her being young and african american, and wanting to support her business. NEVER AGAIN!!! I wouldn’t send my dog to her.
There is no contact person, you’ll always leave a message to an automatic system and wait for a different person to call you back. The front desk people are high school students who probably don’t get paid and know NOTHING about the health care business, administration or anything that they’re doing.
The final straw for me was a when she got upset with me that I wasn’t interested in trying a new «trial medicine» FRESH on the market, she acted as if her life depended on it to convince me to try it. She carelessly wrote out prescriptions without knowing anything about them and when I asked what it was for her response would always be to google it and that she didn’t know the specifics. When I was concerned about side effects of certain drugs and asked which would be the less severe, She rolled her eyes, at me, loudly spoke over me and answered her cell phone in the middle of my visit. Then told me, EVERYTHING has side effects. She was initially reallyl thirsty for positive reviews online and keep pushing for people to leave her positive reviews.
They were very money hungry and acted as though I was a burden whenever I was there to check back in with her about a health concern. I waited weeks for results that she was supposed to have given me sooner. She told me she was out sick, unable to contact me, that she’s doing everything by herself and clearly doesn’t have the money to hire help, therefore I shouldn’t expect much from her. The tone of the office and her people there was incredibly ghetto and unprofessional. Today the pharmacy called me to tell me that a prescription I had a refill on would not be automatically refilled because she lost her license. and that they didn’t want to say more for fear of offending the doctors office.
She’s money hungry, ghetto, disgustingly unprofessional and again, I wouldn’t send my DOG to her. She should hurry up and move her practice back to the south side, like she said she would be.
She needs to be reported. I’ll look into it.
