Dr. Keuss has worked on my child since birth. He was developing a flat spot at 4 months and I didn’t want to go down the helmet route like i did with my first child. Additionally he had horrible congestion that the doctors dismissed, but it was terrible. It was so loud at night he wasn’t sleeping very well. After just 6 weeks of visits, my baby was turning his head in both directions and his head was perfectly round again and is to this day.
Just recently, i noticed my now toddler has a pronounced limp. I brought him back into Dr. Keuss for adjustments. After just a couple visits his limp has decreased. 2 months later, it is completely gone. She is wonderful with children and gets amazing results. I highly recommend her (and I commute in from Park Ridge!).

Went here for about 3 months in the spring of 2015 for a back injury from moving. Was in a tremendous amount of pain and both Dr. Keuss and Dr. Boyce demonstrated genuine care and concern and went to immediate work with both hands-​on treatments and a treatment plan for my recovery. I had as many visits as my insurance allowed. Now, of course, my pain has returned and I am going back to Diversey Health Center this week. No wait time for an appointment! Five-​stars on every level to Amanda, the doctors, service, etc. However, if you prefer weekend appointments, you are out of luck here. This family-​run practice needs a life too!

Diversey Health Center is amazing! I first saw Dr. Boyce many years ago when he was just out of chiropractic school and began practicing at Diversey Health Center — I recently came back after beginning a strong yoga practice. Dr. Boyce has kept me aligned & my flexibility has increased due to his chiropractic care! Everyone in the office is wonderful — highly recommend!

Our whole family comes here (including two kids under 4) and we love it! Dr. Keuss and Dr. Boyce are helpful, knowledgeable, and fun. And Amanda gives great massages! Highly recommend :)

My entire family has been seeing Dr. Keuss and Dr. Boyce for the past month or so. I noticed that my toddler was running a bit «funny» and took him to see Dr. Keuss just in case it was an issue. This lead to my husband and I also getting consultations. A month later, Our migraines have decreased, we have increased mobility, and the toddler no longer runs with his shoulders forward.
Besides the fact that they are actually helping us cure ailments that we have had for YEARS. They also worked out a payment plan that works for our family. They also have made it very easy to bring my son in when we have appointments and are not just friendly with him VERY engaging and understanding of his 2 year old ways.
Amanda gives the BEST massages. Not a spa massage where you feel like the therapist is tickling you, but a REAL DEAL moving muscle massage.

I sought treatment at Diversey Health Center for about a year for shoulder inflammation and soreness. I had some chiropractic adjustments for my back, too, and those were fine. But this review will focus more on my shoulder treatment, which was the main reason for my visits and which, I was told, DHC could perform. To note, I last received treatment in March 2014, so things may be different, and some therapists named may no longer work here.
First, Dr. Boyce is a very pleasant and kind person. He has a great «bedside manner,» and he always would greet me at the front desk with a smile and a handshake. He also decorates his modest office with personal affects, letting you know that his practice is his life and vice-​versa. Though it is hard to say how genuine this all was, there is no doubt he always came across very professional and caring to his patients.
The same goes for the various massage therapists who treated me. All were very kind and professional; some were terrifically fun and funny and enjoyable, too. The therapists who treated me most often were Angelina and Amanda. Angelina has worked at DHC for over 5 (I think now 6) years. She is very pleasant and friendly to all patients; she knows all common customers by name and is happy to talk to them about whatever; and as far as treatment goes, the girl knows what «deep tissue» really means. You’ll struggle not to be in continuous laughter with Amanda. She is one of the most genuinely funny people I have ever met. And like Angelina, her therapy skills are top notch. Both of these therapists used slightly different methods, but I always enjoyed a visit: I always felt like the massage therapy had helped, even if only temporarily. And on a personal level, I really enjoyed these girls and looked forward to every visit with them.
So that’s the good. Here is the not-​so-​good.
First, I was told when I visited for my first treatment that my insurance had gone through and would cover the full cost of my visit. Great. Except it didn’t. I had a $ 25 co-​pay per visit that I was not told I would have. So when I was told I had a $ 250 bill after only a few weeks, I said I would not be able to sustain the schedule of multiple visits per week. I paid that bill, but we had to adjust future visits and billing so that I could afford to keep coming in yet also receive effective treatment. I did not appreciate the incorrect information the first time around.
Second, when Dr. Boyce went over a treatment plan with me, he had a few printed sheets with exercises. He explained the movements and prescribed sets and reps. He also explained a line at the top that was blacked out with permanent marker. He said that was the name of a different patient who had the same issues and received the same treatment plan. I took his word, despite wondering if that was the best practice. Later, because I am a curious human being, I looked closer at the blacked-​out line, which was still slightly readable through the ink. It was not a patient’s name; it said «
.» Honestly, I was more upset he lied about the source of the exercises than the fact they were from Wikipedia. He still had to explain the movements and prescribe the right ones; and I would not have cared if he told me that they were from Wikipedia but that he also agreed they were appropriate. Instead, I uncomfortably and awkwardly had to confront him with what I had learned and get him to admit the concealment. I lost some trust and respect for Dr. Boyce after that.
Last, the treatment slowed as the weeks went by. I understand that’s what should happen as the patient recovers, and I’m fine the visits were less frequent, as they should be. But the visits went from attentive, varied treatment to the same 20-​minute massage and little-​to-​no extra from Dr. Boyce. Most days towards the end, I would see him briefly if at all. So my progress plateaued. I never reached the level of recovery I hoped for. I ended up going elsewhere in Chicago for new, different therapy to get me to the next level. And I did reach higher recovery and have since with a new therapist in a new city. It was like the end of a stressed marriage (too dramatic?). So I left.
So to sum up, my shoulder condition and range of motion improved through my visits to DHC. I personally liked everyone with whom I worked at DHC; those personal connections probably are at least partly why I continued treatment here for as long as I did. But the glitches noted above bothered me, and with the prescribed treatment I improved only so much. I was not willing to continue paying for ineffective treatment. I am thankful for the work of Dr. Boyce, Angelina, Amanda, and the others who treated me. And perhaps the treatment is great for back issues correctable through chiropractic work. But there was only so much they were able to do for me and my problem and only so many questionable practices I was willing to put up with.

I have a back/​neck situation that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’ve tried chiropractors, horse pills, Pilates, acupuncture, physical therapy, everything. But what works best of all – and, as a bonus, makes me a much nicer person – is a good massage.
Now, I can’t speak to Dr. Boyce’s own work, because it turns out that I really don’t like being cracked. But I can say that he employs some wonderful masseuses at very reasonable prices. This is very important because my insurance covers everything BUT therapeutic massage. Go figure.
It’s not the most glamorous set-​up, and I always crack up (pun) when I hear people whacking the medicine balls around, but I’m not there for spa day. I’m there so I can turn my head to the side.
So thanks again, DHC. You are convenient, pleasant, and affordable. If I could add a thumbs up emoticon here, I would.

Great staff. Very friendly and they really work around your schedule. Dr. Boyce really helped with by back and neck. They recuperation time was exactly what dr Boyce had predicted and I couldn’t have asked for a better chiropractors office.

I have been working with the staff of Diversey Health Center for about a month now. I came in with a groupon that had a free pain consultation where Dr. Boyce talked with me about my concerns (I have had back-​shoulder-​leg and wrist pain for years due to injury as a child and my job as a hairstylist). He laid out a treatment plan for me and went over pricing. They are able to help you with a payment plan to make it possible to keep yourself on track with treatment which is GREAT and super helpful! I love that each appointment involves both trigger point massage (Angelina is GREAT!) as well as chiro care. He was honest with me in how long it would take to feel better and what I would need to do to maintain my health. After one month I am feeling better than ever before!
The atmosphere is more relaxed than most doctor’s offices which I like and the staff is super nice and willing to help you with whatever questions and concerns you may have. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to alleviate their aches and pains! They also have a nutritionist and acupuncturist on staff which is fantastic to gain well rounded body health.

I will never go there again for couple of reasons:
1. Treatment wasn’t what I thought it would be and for me was ineffective.
2. After I stopped going there because of above reason, I received a bill for over $ 200.
Not once, during the 2.5 months did anyone mention I have outstanding balance that my insurance didn’t cover so that I can pay as I go so that the bill doesn’t grow. But of course, I was easy money for them with my insurance. They knew if they tell me there is a balance I most likely wouldn’t continue going 3 times a week like the doctor wanted, so he just waited until I stop going or when he discharges me then he’ll send me one huge bill for all visits.
Normally, when I go to a doctor they always let me know what wasn’t covered by my insurance and what I owe and they don’t wait until 2 months later when I stop going to send me a bill.
After I stopped going there, they started to call me insisting I make another appointment. I must have received at least six calls from them. It was only after their last call that I started to receive bills from them– every week!!!
Additionally, when I initially went there it was because I had a stiff neck– nothing a massage wouldn’t fix but instead I got my lower back adjusted, which I can’t understand how can any doctor do that without taking x-​rays first. Now, I have constant lower back pain, which I didn’t have before. Of course, I need to find another doctor to see what’s going on with my back now.
Every morning when I try to get out of bed my back pain reminds me what a huge mistake it was to go there.

This review concerns their billing practices more than their actual services provided.
I agreed to start services with Dr. Boyce on his «cash discount» payment plan because after telling me how displeased he was with Obamacare (his choice of words not mine… it’s called the Affordable Care Act and anyone in a healthcare-​related field should refer to it correctly but that’s another story) he said they’re moving to a cash only practice to avoid dealing with insurance companies. Fine with me as I have a HDHP and would be paying out of pocket either way.
After my first visit, which consisted of a 15 minute massage and an adjustment, I decided to compare my cash discount price ($ 100 total per visit – $ 55 for the adjustment and $ 45 for any additional services per their billing agreement) to the cost sheet on their website. I found that while I was charged accurately for the adjustment, I was charged more than double for the massage (a 15 minute massage is listed on their price sheet, ICD-​9 code and all, as $ 20). Not much of a discount.
Needless to say I don’t appreciate being overcharged. When I called to cancel my next appointment and all services, I found that Dr. Boyce had been listening in on my conversation with the receptionist!!! He did not disclose he was on the phone until abruptly joining the conversation to tell me I didn’t understand their billing policies. Considering I wasn’t given a copy of their billing policy, it’s safe to say I probably didn’t fully understand them but I didn’t stick around to listen because I felt extremely uncomfortable at that point with how the call was progressing.
They might want to consider hiring an office manager because while their services are decent, they are overpriced and their business practices and customer service need improvement.

I bought a Groupon 8 months ago and made my appointment with Krystal for last week. I walked in on a Thursday afternoon and was greeted right away. Krystal was amazing and definitely paid attention to my problem spots. She worked her magic and a knot that I had had for a really long time was finally gone. I walked out of there feeling like a brand new person.
The tension and stress of the last few months were gone! I can’t recommend Krystal enough!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The massage therapist Celina did a lovely job. I asked for a «Medium» amount of pressure and could have gone for a bit more, but through her own judgement she found the places that needed a bit more and those that could pass on with ease. She also noticed and gave information about my body that was very helpful. The place was easy to find, clean, organized, and everyone was very nice and generous.
I have already scheduled two more appointments. You should go too

I benefited from the chiropractic services at Diversey Health Center throughout my training for the Chicago Marathon last year. Training was brutal but Dr Boyce’s expertise kept me on track and gave my back the relief it needed to keep me going. The massage therapists were also great at helping my aching muscles. I couldn’t have finished the marathon without them!
Highly recommended — I continue to go there as needed and I suggest you give them a try!

After reading some of the other groupon/​LS deal reviews I guess I had a better experience than most. We called about a month before our deal expired and they were filled up for months (for appointments after working hours). They did allow us to book past the expiration date and still use the groupon, so that was nice!
Actual service was great, I had a half hour message and they lady was nice and listened to what I wanted etc.
Actual facilities, not great. Blankets had some spots on them and looked dingy and kind of freaked me out.
I wouldn’t pay full price here.

Dear Diversey Health Center, you have horrible business practices.
I called the Halsted location to make an appointment for a massage. I had a LS coupon that was expiring soon. I was told there were no more appointments available before my coupon expired and that I could be put on a waiting list or that I could book an appointment after the expiration date and pay the difference. After much back and forth I was then told I could try to get an appointment at the other location on Belmont. When I called Belmont, they gave me the same bad news.
I understand that I waited until the last week to make this appointment, so did everyone else, that is why they are booked! But I did call before the voucher expired and I am available anytime in the next 6 days to come in and use it. So who is at fault here? Diversey Health center should have extended the expiration date of these vouchers since they were unable to accommodate my appointment request within the allotted time frame. Businesses use Living Social and other such sites to get their name out there to new clients, this certainly backfired on you DHC. I have nothing but bad things to say about my experience with you and will be sure to tell anyone who will listen.

This review is ONLY for the massage I received at Diversey Health Center. The staff was quick, understanding, and welcoming, as well as Dr. Boyce that was very welcoming. Unfortunately the massage itself was not the greatest.
My massage therapist was friendly and tried to accommodate me, but obviously as my rating applies, it wasn’t very satisfying, which is why I won’t name names.
Simply put, I needed her to beat the living daylights out of me (well, my knots, more specifically). Her technique seemed very zen/​flowy/​gentle/​calming/​light touch. I had mentioned to her that more pressure would help and get rid of my unfortunate ticklish squirms. She did apply more pressure… surrounded by light pressure/​grazing touch from her other fingers that would tickle the sanity out of me.
I tensed up so much from being tickled to death that I felt worse leaving than I did going into the appointment. The massage was a 1 star. The facilities and staff were so friendly, I’d hate to give them anything lower than 3. But I honestly have no intention on returning.
