I highly recommend Digital Extasy as the DJ+ choice for your event. We had David DJ our Son’s wedding and the Bride was very pleased (after all that is what is most important). But we know everyone was happy because our guests were on the dance floor. In addition, we had Digital Extasy provide the lighting and it transformed the venue.

David Olivares was great. He was patient, he worked hard to find every single song that we requested and he took the time to meet with us several times. His prices are very reasonable. Simply put, he was amazing and I would definitely recommend him!

David Oliveras from Digital Extasy Mobile Entertainment was the DJ for my wedding this past March for both the ceremony and the reception. I can’t tell you how many compliments we received from our friends and family throughout the night! We are still receiving compliments to this day. His equipment sounded crystal clear. The wedding music was important because my husband’s family is Arabic but our friends are not. As the Bride to Be my biggest fear was no one was going to dance. David took care of those fears by properly reading the crowd. There was NO time during the entire reception that the dance floor was empty. David successfully got every single person on the dance floor at some point in the night and the dance floor was full of people all night. I personally had a blast at my wedding and David was a HUGE part in that.
From the beginning of the planning process David was there and completely professional. He initially met with us at a possible wedding venue and we briefly discussed music. I then sent him a must play/​do not play list. My husband and I tend to favor rock music, which you cannot dance to so we decided to play specific music choices during cocktails and reception. He met with us again to go over all the music choices I sent him and offer suggestions. We received his contract and questionnaire promptly after the first meet, which asked basic questions as well as our music preference and favorite bands and genres.
When we finally decided on a venue (read my review on the Belvedere Events and Banquets) he met us there again to speak with the venue about setup details and to check the space out. After scoping the joint out we sat for awhile and went over the music choices we sent him for the specific wedding moments. For the dancing part of the reception we gave him Arabic music and left the rest up to him. We met a final time a few days before the wedding where we dropped more Arabic music off on him in case we needed it to get people moving (which he didn’t ’cause he’s awesome) and to change our reception entrance song. He had the entire wedding timelined and typed out, which he shared with all our other wedding vendors. He communicated with the Pastor, the photographer, and the videographer so everyone was in place for all the special moments. He also made sure to phonetically write out everyone’s names to ensure proper pronunciation. During the ceremony he was perfectly on time with the bridal party, bride’s entrance, sand ceremony, and the couple’s exits.
During the night of the wedding David continued to surprise us by dropping some of our favorite genres and bands in the mix in such a way it made our night, surprised the guests, and got the party hoppin’
David used the questionnaire he originally sent us to get a proper feel for our personal musical taste. Which was fantastic because the hubby and I figured we would have to cater to the mostly Arabic crowd to get people on the dance floor. Getting to hear the golden oldies mixed, current pop, ghetto rap, metallica, old school freestyle, and Arabic dance music all in one night mixed so seamlessly had everyone amazed but most of all my husband and I were able to enjoy the dancing all night also.

My Husband and I were married a little over a month ago in Baraboo, WI. My husband and I spent months looking for a DJ in Wisconsin and we could not find a bi-​lingual DJ anywhere! My husband and his family are Mexican American and I am German American, we knew that a bi-​lingual DJ who understood both cultures was crucial to our reception being enjoyed by both families. We wanted to include all of the Traditional Mexican Wedding Dances (La Vibora de la Mar, El Mandilon, etc.) as well as the Polka. We also wanted a DJ who could give a brief explanation as to WHY we were doing those dances so that our guests could learn something new about each family’s culture.
David EXCEEDED our expectations. He was phenomenal! He traveled all the way to Wisconsin to DJ our wedding! He spoke both English and Spanish perfectly. He understood both cultures perfectly. He was engaging and friendly. He was organized and prompt. Most importantly, he read our crowd perfectly. He had our dance floor (a really big dance floor) FULL all night! Once the older guests left and the younger people remained David cranked up the house music and hip hop and the night ended and such a high note! My family and my husband’s family are still talking about what an amazing experience our reception was and I attribute much of that to David!
I wish we could get married again so that we could have another party with David’s music! Maybe a Quince Anos in the future??? Thanks again Daivd!

«David created a FRENZY on our wedding dance floor!»
Just returned from our honeymoon and felt the need to tell the world about David Olivares. After securing our wedding date with our church and reception hall, our challenge was to find a DJ that handled his business like a true professional and a DJ with club experience that is able to seamlessly mix various genres of music that included pop, dance, disco, house, bachata, salsa, merengue, nortena, and cumbia. Our wedding being the most important day of our life and after having invested so much money into this event, this job could not be placed in the hands of just anyone.
After completing our research, we selected David’s company. David was a down to earth guy. Willing to sit down and discuss his services without the pushy sales pitch. His company uses top of the line sound and lighting equipment. He has experienced in leading a team of venders on the wedding day. He takes the time to get to know the wedding couple and sets the expectation for the night in advance. David was very timely in returning phone calls and replying to emails. David has experience reading the dance floor and lets the music speak for itself. There were no over the top cheesy announcements. Last of all, David knows how to package a quality sound system with the use of lights and proper song selection to keep people on the dance floor!
At the end of the day, we simply provided David with the list of songs for the night’s events. We also provided a do not play list and instead of providing a list of must play songs, we simply gave him a list of genres we wanted played. We wanted to give David a chance to stretch musically and demonstrate his creativity. After all, if we wanted a juke box, we would have simply played an IPOD. David came through on wedding day and exceeded our expectations. His sound system sounded amazing (clear and crisp). The up-​lighting was placed at the right locations to compliment the venue. Song selection and mixing was best in class. The dance floor was packed the entire night. At the end of our event, our guests were energized and did not want to go home. The after party continued at the hotel with over 60 people in one of the rooms. He was a great asset to our wedding day team.
To wrap this review up, do the research for yourself, but do not wait too long. Book him now!

So I had heard about Digital Extasy through work. After speaking with David we thought he would be a good fit for our wedding. What an understatement that was! David was absolutely amazing! The wedding took place at Drury Lane Oak Brook in June 2012. We had asked for up-​lighting through David and it was gorgeous. The whole room was completely transformed. The speakers were positioned perfectly for everyone to hear. He also did a great job with keeping people on the dance floor. We gave him more of a free reign of songs, rather than making a play list up for him. Basically we said, if people are dancing and having fun, were happy too. Of course we chose our special dances and songs, which David was very helpful with too. Throughout the entire planning process, David was very helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and easy to contact with all my questions and concerns. He took time to learn what we wanted, our friends and families names and proper annunciation of anyone being introduced. I was truly worry free when it came to David doing a great job. People are still talking about our wedding and our awesome DJ and comparing these with other weddings of the summer. Were still the wedding to beat!

My husband and I were beyond impressed by David Olivares and Digital Extasy Mobile Entertainment’s performance at our wedding in January 2011. You could tell that he put so much time and energy into picking songs that fit our style and kept the crowd dancing. He was even able to slow down «our song» and cut it short so it fit our choreographed first-​dance perfectly. He showed up early to make sure everything was set up in time. He is affordable and awesome! If you’re looking for a great DJ, pick David!

DJing at weddings is easy to do but difficult to master. David Olivera of Digital Extasy Mobile Entertainment is a master. He DJ’ed our wedding reception in June 2010. We had a large and somewhat rowdy crowd, given to inappropriate requests and bossiness. David handled them with grace. His particular style as a DJ suited us, not at all a bar mitzvah-​get-​everyone-​to-​do-​games DJ. We were impressed that he listened to our play-​list CD 3 times to make sure all the songs played properly during our cocktail hour. He stuck with our play/don’t play list quite stringently during the dancing yet he was able to read the crowd and quickly fade a song if people were not into it. His equipment seemed quite high end but not finicky. The only negative was that some guests had trouble hearing our toasts but our venue (the Garfield Park Conservatory) has notoriously bad acoustics, this would probably not be a problem at most venues or with more sound checks. Overall, we were extremely impressed with David’s cool, calm, professional manner. What you see is what you get with him, we were very satisfied and highly recommend him for any occasion.

on 18Sep2009 at DoubleTree Hilton Kirsteen and i were married.
David Olivares was our DJ. Long ago i learned from working catering and bartending that a nice place and decent food was okay. But for our friends premium bar and a great DJ would make an Event that much more special. David helped make our day that much more memorable. From the small details, introductions, speeches down to the our last dance… .and everything in-​between. He was awesome.
With the wedding fast approaching we had almost forgotten to get music. We opted for a DJ instead of a Band to make it easy. But, Kirsteen (my lovely wife) was stressing and David walked us through the process from helping choose our songs (special thanks from my mom, great choice on mom/​son song) to working with us through our uncertainty of order of events.
I know this is a bit long, but it would be impossible to write in a few words how much David became a part of our day as it unfolded.
As i’m sure with all weddings we had am mixture of people. Family, friends, young and old. David made sure the music transitioned well. Most people danced. The music flowed, seems so simple, yet more often than not i hear people complain about their DJ at parties, they talked to much, music was bad, didn’t have the right music, etc.. .I could go on… Kirsteen was overjoyed at how much, or rather how well everything went. She loved the music and she danced the night away. Our wedding was a couple of weeks ago, and people are still calling me. Close friends and family, they had a blast. This is my first review on Unilocal,i’ve used it countless of times. The times i have not, unfortunately, i wished i had. As my first review i hope i’ve said enough. I believe give credit, where credit is due. David doesn’t have a website, mostly he works from word of mouth. But, if this review helps him get one client, and that is you, i i hope your event goes well, and i’m positive that the one worry you will not have, will be the music. David’s attention to detail, professionalism and follow through left us in awe. I don’t think this is the proper way to write a review, but David could not have done a better job, Kirsteen cried, from us both for helping us make this our most memorable moment to date our gratitude goes out to you.
