Dentologie

I passed by this place often on my way home or to work. It looked really cool and chic. After putting off going to the dentist because lazy, I finally walked in one day and asked when their next available appointment would be. I walked by on a Monday and was immediately booked for a 4 pm appt on Wednesday.
Got in on Wednesday. The Lounge area is really comfy and they have water and coffee available for consumption. The sign in process was really simple and easy. Whoever made the app they use to process patient’s information should be paid more. It was so simple and fast and I didn’t have to get a hand cramp filling it out on the iPad.
I didn’t wait more than 5 mins after completing all the necessary information before i was brought to the cleaning room by My Man Carmelo. He was so fun and explained everything he was doing. The rooms have TVs facing the chair and on the ceiling when you are reclining back. Nice distraction when you are getting plaque scrapped from your teeth.
He got to know me throughout the visit. As we both are Chicago transplants, in-​between the work, we shared stories and tips about Chicago. He also gave me tips about caring for me teeth better. Cleaning went well and the equipment they use is very advanced (in my poor medical opinion) and I was told i would be able to get my digital x-​rays and pics emailed to me.
Dr. Founas was very charismatic (and cute. Hi). and before even going into my teeth and the xrays and pictures, took a couple of mins to learn about me and where I’m from, and how I came across the practice. And also took some feedback about their online scheduling process. He thoroughly explained everything and was quick and concise. I didn’t feel rushed at all.
Carmelo gave me this cute little box with mouth wash, floss, toothpaste and toothbrush and i checked out with my estimates for future work.
It was a great experience and they have amazing customer service. I will be definitely using them in the future

The staff was friendly and greeted us with a warm welcome. My girlfriend and I filled out some personal information on a tablet and the wait time was around 10 minutes! The problem as to why I rated this 3 out of 5 stars is the lack of communication. I had come to see the surgeon about wisdom teeth removal. We already knew that all 4 teeth needed to be removed based off x-​rays of a previous dentist. The first phone call I made, I was told that I could schedule an appointment on Saturday which are the days the surgeon/​specialist works. The second phone call I made, they scheduled me for Monday. They stated that I would get pricing and information about removing wisdom teeth. Sadly that wasn’t the case on Monday.
Monday morning, we received x-​rays and were told that we need to remove all 4 wisdom teeth (Something we already know) and that we need to schedule an appointment to see the surgeon and to get more information about it. We pay out of pocket and was told something we already knew. Now we have to pay again for our next visit to finally see the surgeon. We were offered this dental plus plan which covers for the first and the second consultation plus two cleaning and 30% off service which was great but we expected better. Also found out they don’t do installments and want payment in full for wisdom teeth removal.

Dr. Kurdi is nothing short of amazing. I need extensive dental work done. I started this process about 4 months ago. 3 crowns and a bridge later, I’m a happy camper. This dental office makes me want to take better care of my dental hygiene. The television on the ceiling is an added bonus.

Going to the dentist has always been uncomfortable for me. One really puts a lot of trust into a dentist and nowadays it’s easy to fall into the trap of unnecessary work and cosmetic «needs.» After unpleasant experiences elsewhere, I decided to try out another dentist in a different office, yet again.
The entire staff at Dentology strives to make you feel comfortable and at ease. From the moment you walk in the office, you are greeted with warm smiles and offered complimentary coffee, tea, or water.
Unlike most offices, you won’t be left in the lobby waiting long periods of time to be seen for your appointment you showed up on time to. Dentology is always on time. If they start to run behind, they will call to ask if you can come later to avoid waiting or offer reschedules. I really appreciated that. They understand your time is valuable too. This happened to me once, where they called to ask if I could come just 30 minutes later. No big deal to me. I would rather stay home then sit in a dentist office waiting for 30 minutes. When I arrived, they took me in immediately and gifted me a Starbucks card for the inconvenience. What a nice gesture.
I can tell the doctor enjoys her job because it shows. She takes pride in her work. I appreciated how patient she was with me. I know I wasn’t easy. Her gentle way helped me to relax and feel comfortable. All of the dental assistants and hygienists take great care of you, making sure you have everything you need and always offering to go the extra mile. Plus, the goodies they give you are so nice, a box personalized just for you. How nice!
I have not regretted my decision to switch dentists. I love Dentology and I feel most comfortable here.

As someone who hadn’t been to dentist in 5 plus years, with a great deal of anxiety, it couldn’t have gone smoother.
When you walk in the space is inviting and warm, you sit in the waiting room that feels like a lounge, comfy chairs, water is offered. You fill out your medical and personal information on an iPad, which was actually fun. They have TVs on wall and curling to keep you occupied.
Then came my visit, Carmelo was my dental hygienist who was incredibly professional, put me at ease, and gently cleaned my grill. The Dr. forgot her name!) was equally amazing, compassionate, and informative.
All in all this is a clean, safe, peaceful place to come for dental work. Every interaction I had was top notch from start to finish. I’ll never go anywhere else in Chicago.

UPDATE
After having seen my review, Dr. Founas called me and emailed me to find out what happened. Everything was fixed via in-​person meeting and clarified within the week. I also gained an understanding of how dental insurance processing works on both ends, and it can be pretty frustrating for patient and Doctor.
This is what you want, people. Businesses that care. And people who care about their business. Kudos.

Awesome staff, check in with new paperwork on an iPad. Austin is a great hygenist. Everyone seems to care, doctors take time not only explaining things but offering treatment advice. Great equipment, clean treatment rooms. A really great experience.

Hadn’t posted on here before about them but wanted to add to their list of already awesome reviews (my last exam here was last year). Dr. M is the bomb, super nice guy who will pull up your xrays with you on the computer and go over everything. They’re slightly more expensive than other places (of course it’ll depend on what dental insurance you have) but still not the most expensive place I’ve been and for the service they offer, I was willing to pay it. Very modern, will do everything electronically and even send you copies of your xrays digitally if you need to show them to another dentist or orthodontist. Not trying to rip you off at all.
I had to have a decent amount of work done as well, including a crown placement. Dr. M initially thought I might have to have a root canal based on the xrays, but managed to get away without it once he actually got in there. The crown quality was top notch, better than the only other crown I have (I can barely tell it’s an actual crown at this point, compared to the other one which I can obviously tell). I had a little trouble with my bite afterwards, emailed Dr. M who set me up with an appointment the next day to sand it down a little and re-​align my bite. They’re committed to following up on their work, which is another awesome trait.
They have a great business model, great work ethic, honest and back up their work. Look for these guys to be the go to place to go for dental work in Chicago.

Loved the whole experience. The front desk staff were great, the clinic is veautifully decorated, they appear to have the latest technologies, the two techs I met on my 2 visits were super nice (hubby loved his tech too!). The Dr. was lovely as well. I have to add, the Dr. called me after a procedure to see how I was doing! No Dr has ever called me before! Greatly appreciated for the amazing customer service from beginning till end. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved my experience at Dentologie. I went in for a cleaning and had the pleasure of being taken care of by Jennifer. Jen is so sweet. Not only did she do a terrific job, but she explained the process and made me feel very comfortable. Did I mention she’s also a great listener? :) Dr. Mohiuddin was also a delight. He gave me a thorough consultation and answered every question I had for him. I love the fact that this office has a cool, laid-​back vibe, while maintaining a high-​level of professionalism. From scheduling my appointment with Deisi, to receiving a lovely greeting from Ashley, this was an overall fantastic visit.

I am so impressed by all of the staff I have encountered at Dentologie. I have a lot of extensive dental work as well as anxiety. I feel extremely confident with their staff and high tech technology. I LOVE their television distractions as well, one is in front of you and then when you are lowered back for dental work, one is on the ceiling!!! For people like me that is a great huge distraction.
I left my great dentist of 15 years for this practice because their practice is simply a few steps behind Dentologie as well as it was hard to get a same day appointment with a dentist who runs the show himself. The Dentologie staff is so kind, informative, and gives several options which I appreciate. I also love their location right off the red line at Roosevelt and State.
What really won me over with Dentologie was how quickly the staff has responded to me via email or phone call. That goes a long way with someone with a lot of anxiety. I would never over contact such helpful and great professionals, but it’s good to know they get back to you extremely fast! Their office is also immaculate, modern and comfortable.
I’ve never encountered such cheerful and helpful staff/​front desk associates, which ensures me they are most likely pretty happy with their jobs. I’ve always been a firm believer about the first people a patient (I) see in a medical setting reflects on the doctor. Another little perk that has nothing to do with dentistry, is that they have a wonderful selection of beverages while you wait, television, record player, magazines etc., although I’ve NEVER had to wait. I’m sure it does happen, but I find the practice to be mindful of their patients time. I also wanted to add I LOVE their hours, I have always been able to get in same day if needed. One last note, I feel like the staff treats me as a person and not just a set of teeth. From my experiences for the most part in the past I’ve just felt like a mouth that shows up for work to be done, and when I’m at Dentologie I feel like a person and am asked if I’m comfortable, does this bother/​hurt (answer has always been no). It’s nice to be with people who have a wonderful «bedside manner».

Great experience as a new patient! The intro questionnaire was fun to fill out on the iPad. Their office is beautiful and very professional. I chose this dental office because of their extended hours.
My dental hygienist, Jennifer, was great! She explained everything she was doing and gave me tips and suggestions for better dental health. I even got a follow up/​thank you email from her soon after my appointment.

Its been a while since I’ve written a review so I thought I’d provide some updates. Since my last review, I’ve been back to Dentologie a few times for my usual bi-​annual teeth cleanings. I’ve had Jen and Carmelo as my hygienists and they were both outstanding. The quality care Dentologie provides is still top-​notch!
I’m attending a friends wedding in a few weeks and was thinking about getting my teeth whitened. Dr. M encouraged me to do it! I’ve never done the do-​it-​yourself teeth whitening so I had no idea what to expect. I only knew that my teeth would be sensitive after the whitening session. Dr. M provided me all the details on what to expect and that I should take 600 mg of ibuprofen 3 hours before my visit. (I ended up taking 400 mg of ibuprofen 2 hours before and survived thankfully!) I told Dr. M that I wanted just a little bit of whitening and not freakish glow-​in-​the-​dark type of white. He assured me everything would be fine and that I’d look perfect! So I bit the bullet, scheduled an appointment and just had my first ever teeth whitening session.
The hygienist that helped me whiten my teeth was Patricia. She was so thorough in explaining what she’d be doing, how she’d protect my gyms and receding gum line from the bleach gel, how she’d put some apparatus in my mouth the entire time to keep my lips from covering my teeth, how she’d be giving me four 15 min treatments and that I didn’t have to do all of them if my sensitivity was too high, and she even explained the level of sensitivity I’d feel and when I should scream MERCY! Well, in this case I couldn’t talk so Patricia provided me a bell and a piece of paper to communicate to her.
I just finished my session and I gotta say it was pretty fantastic. It was like a spa experience. Really?! YES REALLY!!! I just sat back in the dental chair and Patricia did everything. She was so gentle and very detail oriented. She checked up on me constantly, even before my 15 minutes were up just to make sure I was not dying of pain. I was fortunate enough to make it 5 minutes into the fourth treatment before I had to end the session. Both Patricia and I were surprised with my tolerance level (apparently most people can’t make it to the fourth session).
At the end of the session, Patricia provided me some fluoride treatment to protect my teeth, provided some instructions on what not to eat/​drink within 48 hours of my whitening treatment, and also sent me home with a goodie bag with whitening toothpaste, sensodyne toothpaste, and some sensitivity strips.
From check in to check out and everything in between, Dentologie has been fantastic! I highly recommend them to keep your teeth white, clean and healthy!

I had a great first experience at Dentologie. I had a simple appointment consisting of x-​rays, cleaning, and a short convo with Dr. Founas.
The dental hygienist (Sonia, I think?!) was super friendly and liked to answer questions. The cleaning was pretty quick, but thorough, and not painful at all.
Dr. Founas was very friendly as well and gave me good tips to maintain my teeth. He seemed like he knew his stuff and would truly be watching for things to prevent in the future.
The office is very modern and looks nice. There are TVs in the exam rooms, and everything feels new and clean. The front desk staff are very friendly as well, and paperwork was done on an iPad with a really easy application.
I was referred here, and will definitely be going back.

Excellent pricing for those without/​crappy insurance. Your experience will depend on the person providing service.
DR KURDI — charming man with a sexy hair who happens to be intelligent and practices as a dentist. He has a wait-​n-​see, holistic approach to fixer-​upper teeth. So far so good. I still have my flashy smile. If you have good teeth, you can chat about life — he has plenty of usable opinions. LOL
WHITENING — Anthony is an expert (detail oriented, includes in between teeth) and I don’t have to insist on Zoom anymore (I believe the only thing that works on my teeth). A highly effective 30-​min treatment. Significant improvement in application technique that that minimizes discomfort. A re-​assuring persona.
TV GALORE — I love that I won’t be bored when I get a treatment.

Seamless customer experience at Dentologie!
From the very fist visit to each 6 mo follow up this office has been great in terms of servicing my dental needs. During you first appointment I was handed an ipad at checkin to enter and validate my health history as well as insurance. This was as fast and easy way to submit my info to the provider. I’ve been back several times in the last two years for cleanings and visits are always fairly on time and the cleanings are thorough. I appreciate that I do get to speak with a dentists about the overall health of my teeth at each visit versus just seeing a hygienist at some offices. I also have my husband coming to this office and he’s had a couple of procedures here that have all gone well. There was one visit where he experienced pain post procedure but the dentist saw him for a follow-​up and re-​assessed the possible causes of the issue and made himself available via phone/​text if any emergent questions came up after the visit. My experience is that the level of care and attention to detail is excellent at Dentologie. I continue to be a happy customer!

Dentologie is a very nice and clean environment, my dental hygienist Erica was really nice and caring. Dr. suhail mohiuddin was very knowledgeable about what he does.
I didn’t feel much of the paint except my front teeth are very sensitive. but majority of time i got distracted by watching tv. lol

Nothing but great things to say about this place. Definitely the best dentist I’ve had in my entire life. The 5 star reviews are legit. The entire experience is awesome, from your first registration (with iPads) to the teeth cleanings (with a tv in front of you and one on the ceiling for when you lay back).
The hygienists do an amazing job and make sure you’re comfortable throughout the entire cleaning. The dentists seem pretty young, but they communicate everything very well and tell you what spots to look out for and what preventative measures to take. After my first few visits, I got a box full of goodies… very trendy place but they back it up with solid cleanings and exams.
If you live around the area, this has to be your dentist.

This will sound weird, but I actually enjoy going to the dentist. This place has a very hip, youthful vibe (e.g. complimentary izze drinks while you wait, flat screens above your head so you’re not bored while getting your teeth cleaned) with an emphasis on great customer service.
I’ve been going to Dr. Founas for about two years and among the things I like is that he is conservative when it comes to treatment. There are some spots that might potentially need work later on, but rather than rushing in to do fillings, we’re taking a wait-​and-​see approach. I appreciate that. I’m really not in a hurry to get dental work unless it’s necessary and if it’s not at this point, I am happy to wait.
This is a great dental practice — definitely the most memorable one I’ve ever been to.
