Deluxe Nails

I read reviews about Deluxe Nails and was optimistic about going there for the first time. I went to get a gel full set removed and, unlike my usual nail salon, the method was harsh. They used a power drill file on my actual nails and really damaged my nail beds. Then I asked to simply cut 2 hangnails and the lady said I needed a full manicure to do that. She then proceeded to tear off one of the hangnails with the drill file causing me pain and to bleed. Needless to say I will not be going back there ever.

Found this place via Unilocal search as my go-​to was closed and I desperately needed a manicure.
Definitely call before you head over. They may accept walk-​ins, but in the morning there are only two techs and you might be told you’d have to wait an hour before they get to you.
They carry a nice array of no-​chip manicure colors and their space is tidy.
My manicurist was super sweet and fun to talk to. Her no-​chip technique was good and her polishing was neat. There was a short shoulder massage afterward – nice surprise and helped with the overall relaxing visit.

I am particular about my nails and about sanitation practices, and have had mostly disappointing experiences with nail salons in the city. I am willing to pay and travel for good service and cleanliness. I also want to be able to communicate with the technician who is doing my nails. I was looking to get my nails done before a weekend trip and wanted a place that was closer than my previous go-​to suburban salon. I checked Unilocal reviews, and chose Deluxe Nails based on the rating and comments. I have been to Deluxe Nails twice now, and had an excellent experience with Jenny both times, it definitely lived up to my expectations!
Jenny has given me probably the best no-​chip manicures I’ve had. Many salons charge a lot more than Deluxe Nails and do a «dry» no-​chip manicure, which basically involves pushing back your cuticles without any softening, clipping/​filing/​shaping, applying the polish, and then applying lotion. Not at Deluxe Nails! It is a full-​blown manicure — soak, cuticle removal, shaping, an outstanding and careful application of the no-​chip polish with ample curing time, topped off with a neck and shoulder massage. I have selected CND Shellac polish both times (my preferred brand) and have had perfect nails with no chips for 3+ weeks. They have quite a few colors and brands of no-​chip polish.
The pedicure is nice, their spa massage chairs really give you a going over! I need to spend some time checking out the different massage features, the first time I felt a bit manhandled by the chair’s default setting, but not in a bad way. They go beyond the basics on the pedicure as well.
They sanitize their tools and pedicure bowls well, and use disposable files, buffers, and whatever the little bars are called that they use to exfoliate your feet. Each station has multiple fresh items ready for the technicians to use.
The décor is not fancy, more functional, which is fine with me. I appreciate the outstanding service and result for what I consider a very fair price — 40% less than what I was paying at the salon where I have my hair done.
Their closing time is earlier than what is listed on the Unilocal page — I felt bad because they stayed late to finish for me because I went in assuming they were open until 7:30 but discovered that they close at 7 on weeknights, at least during the winter. Next time I will confirm when I call ahead for an appointment if it’s near the end of the day. There are parking spaces in the rear and a back door, or you can park on the street.

Love the staff here. They do a great job at very reasonable prices and they are great at accepting walk ins but they do tend to get busy so try and make an appointment ahead of time. Also cash tips are preferred! Love that there’s a parking lot in the back since it’s such a busy area.

JENNY was excellent. Meticulous, paid attention to detail, gentle and has amazing hands. Possibly the best gel manicure I’ve ever gotten! Gel mani and regular pedi together cost me $ 50. Very reasonable price for such a great job.
Went in on a Friday at 1pm. Parking in the back for free. Call ahead and make an appointment because they are quite busy.

I absolutely love this nail shop! I have only gotten pedicures here but they do a great job. It is very clean and the ladies are very attentive to what they are doing. I also like that they open a new package of nail instruments for each client. This stops things such as fungus from spreading. They also do very nice nail designs. The designs are very intricate and beautiful!

I really like this place, I came here based on other Unilocal reviews. When you first walk in you think «ok another quick in and out nail salon– been there done that» but then surprise… this one is really different. How? The techs are all very friendly and courteous (ever have the feeling techs talk rubbish about?) Yep, you won’t ever get that weird feeling here. No rushing the job, ever. I’ve been here now 5 times and never ever was I rushed. There are no excessive fumes. The chairs are comfortable and the prices are fair. The salon is clean and so are the tools. Oh and EASY parking behind the salon.
I will keep coming back here :-)

I needed to find a new nail salon since my old place has gone down hill. I’m so glad I found this place on Unilocal!Fast but excellent job on my manicure! Prices are great, awesome nail color selection, and I even got a little back rub during my mani! What more can you want? Can’t wait to come back when I need a pedi!

This is the nail spot! I came in expecting nothing special (i have had many mediocre experiences at nail shops before), and it was spectacular! They really pay close attention to detail, they cured my no chip at least 6 times each per hand. They even give you a nice neck and shoulder massage while you wait for your nails to dry, the finish you with a hot towel. The place is very clean and everyone was very friendly. I am now a lifetime client! Thanks for the wonderful experience and proving me that not all nail salons are the same!

I found a new gem! I really can’t rave enough about this place-​lets start with:
1.Parking-plenty of it some pay to park but have private parking in the back and take note that the side streets are not permit so pay to park is really last resort ever!
2. Fair/​decent/​standard prices–
they have a no chip manicure and pedi combo for 50.00 which is a STEAL! AND no «no chip» manicure removal fee every time like most places are now trying to implement ex 10.00 to remove and replace no chip each time-doesn’t exist here !
3. Standard hours but closed on Sunday’s which is fine with me!
4. Great pedicure chairs and foot tubs
–the massage chairs put in work not dinky like some places. Also they even give you w scrub leg rub during the pedi AND a lotion rub after the pedi-​hard to come by!
5. The best is the manicure-​they give you a small back and shoulder rub before painting on the nail coat and before paying

BIBLE. This place is almost too good to be true it’s like I’ve died and found my perfect nail salon.
Kim the owner is super nice too! They take walk ins but I would suggest I make an appt a head of time-​I got lucky with a walk in and 10 min wait and missed the rush-​several people came in after and the longest wait after that was a good 30 – 45 min-​best place!

I’ve been going here for almost a year now and it’s great! I suggest calling in to give Kim a heads up that you need a fill for acrylic nails, since she is the only one who does this at the salon. She is very precise and friendly!

Are you kidding me?! Walked in for a full set and a pedi. She told me she was busy! Really you have 5 people working and your kicking business out?! Definitely not worth driving over here if they are going to kick you out cause apparently they are to busy! Please don’t own a business you can’t handle!

Found them on Unilocal and Looooved this place! We walked in and were taken care of immediately. Went for mani/​pedis. They had enough staff that they did both our nails at the same time so neither one of us had to sit around and wait. The pedicure was great, the foot and leg massage awesome. The manicure was perfect, the hand and arm massage spectacular. They even give you a neck and shoulder massage and finish with a hot towel. I felt pampered, and ready for a nap afterwards. I will continue going to Deluxe Nails from now on!

HOLY GRAIL! I have been going to this nail place for about a year now. I have been to every «decent» nail salon in Chicago (no exaggeration). This place is a hidden gem. I just recently started suggesting this place to my girlfriends. It is a little ways for most of my girlfriends. However, they say the drive is worth it. This is the BEST nail salon in Chicago. The «no chip» manicure can last up to three weeks, which is perfect, because I travel a lot. The techs take time on your nails and never rush. Kim is absolutely amazing and she has rejuvenated my hands. I only get «no chip» manicures, therefore, my nails would be damaged. This place has somehow made my nails the healthiest they’ve been with the «no-​chip». My pedicures last a long time as well. I try to go once a week (which is a bit excessive, but if you try it out. you’ll totally understand why). This place has gotten a bit busier than last year, therefore going super early helps if you’re in a rush. I could go on and on, but believe me when I say this is the best nail salon in Chicago!

I’ve been here 5 times already did mani, pedi and no chip. They do an excellent job and they are the least expensive from all the other nail shops in the neighborhood. The ladies are all very friendly and sweet. The place is clean and parking is always available behind the nail shop.
I highly recommend deluxe nails.

The owner and her mom who works with her are so friendly super nice and I’ve been going here because they are amazing. She dies amazing designs. Free hand. But make sure call ahead sometimes there’s only the two of them if you don’t want to wait. I love them here they give massages and they do exactly what you want and listen

I called on a Saturday morning at 11am and they were able to get my daughter and I in right away. I got a Spa Pedi and a Reg. Mani my daughter was just a polish change but she requested pink nails and white polka dots. They all did an awesome job, very thorough. The space is very clean and they have really good massage chairs. While I was waiting for my nails to dry, they gave me a nice massage and ended it with hot towels. Another pleasant surprise was the Spa pedicure included a hot stone foot/​leg massage. I’ve usually gone down the street from my house (which is within walking distance) but from now on I will be going to deluxe nails. You definitely get more for your money, it was cheaper, the people were friendly and made my daughter feel comfortable about her request and kept complimenting her nail color choices. This is the place!

I heard about this new nail salon from
. I stopped in the night before I was leaving for a trip around 6:30– they close at 7:30. There was a ‘party’ of 3 moms and their daughters and friends in there drinking wine and having a manicure party. I felt really bad for the technicians since the kids were running around like maniacs and being super annoying while the moms just sipped their wine and said «Stop that.»
They took me in and gave me a wonderful pedicure despite the ruckus. When I was finished it was past 7:30 and they were still working on the on the women and one of the kids that came late. I really give them credit for taking me in despite their full house already.
It is very clean, the technicians are very friendly, prices are affordable and it is brand new. Also my pedicure is still looking fabulous after walking a ton and getting my feet sandy at the beach.
I can’t wait to go back again — minus the maniac children!
