De La Torre Funeral Home

This is not a fancy place but instead a great on a budget option. My experience with them was really good, they brought my grandma to her final resting place from Chicago to a small town in Mexico and can’t be happier with the service and all they did for us. Prices were great and the owner of the funeral home was always available for questions during the process.
Finding parking on Western Ave is almost impossible but paying $ 2.00 for all day inside the movie theater parking lot is not that bad.

Yes this place is not fancy but what it lacks in fancy is more then made up for with the most caring, detail oriented and reliable staff. My grandparents may they rest in peace passed with-​in 4 years of each other. When my grandfather passed in 2007 I called around for quotes to have him brought from Michigan to Chicago for funeral and mass services, then on to final resting place in Mexico. I was getting quotes starting at 20k-​30k that did not include getting them to the cemetery. It was a bit overwhelming after calling so many places with my grandfather. When I finally called De La Torre I was given a quote for less then 10K that included travel to Mexico all the way to the cemetery. They took care of all the details my family had nothing to worry about; unfortunately I had to call again last week for my grandmother. I placed only 2 calls to De La Torre and the hospital. I was not required to leave a deposit and they took care of everything. I am forever grateful for having this family owned funeral home still around.

Okay kind of morbid to write on a funeral home. BUT HELL ITS ALL ABOUT UnilocalING RIGHT!
This isn’t my first time seeing someone waked here, but this time (thank you Unilocal), I looked around and did notice that this place is real low budget. Not fancy, no frills, just a room and chairs. Now if you want to pay cheap, this is the place. A full funeral won’t cost you what it may cost you somewhere else. Parking is pretty good because the movie theatre has the $ 2.00 deal for parking.
So again, if you want cheap and don’t need all the fanciness of most Chicago Funeral Homes, This is the place.
