Specialties
Private voice instruction is an opportunity for students to experiment, learn, and grow toward healthy, successful singing. From first-time singers, to long-term students of the voice, we work to create a smart, inquisitive, comfortable and safe environment that encourages technically productive and creatively fulfilling music making.
Our approach to technique is based in a comprehensive understanding of anatomy (a singer’s instrument) and the way the body works. This approach uses simple concepts that are applied to the different functions within varied styles of music (pop, rock, jazz, musical theater, opera etc.)
Our students represent a broad spectrum of singers, from professional musicians who are looking to hone their craft to amateurs looking to explore their creative side. Some students have studied voice through masters programs at schools of music while others have no formal training. Our voice lessons have something special and unique to offer all.
History

Meet the Business Owner
Davin Y.
Business Owner
Davin Youngs is a musician, teacher and interdisciplinary artist in Chicago, IL. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and DePaul University’s Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program, Davin has successfully carved a niche as a unique contributor to the fine art and education communities in Chicago and abroad. A student of operatic mezzo-soprano, Elizabeth Mannion and noted pedagogue and operatic tenor, Richard Miller, Davin brings to his singing and teaching a special understanding of the way the body works. This thorough knowledge sets him apart in his ability to communicate pedagogically and artistically. As a singer, it has allowed him a large musical vocabulary and success across genres. A long-time member of the professional William Ferris Chorale and regular vocalist with the consort-in-residence at Grace Chicago Church, Davin performs weekly in both classical and contemporary settings.
