CTA – Cermak-Chinatown [Red]

What can I say about an L stop. The view of downtown is pretty cool. It is nice and convenient for going to Chinatown.

My Sister and I have been to Many Chinatowns: San Francisco, London, and New York. We live in Chicagoland and we had never been. We decided on an unexpected free weekend day to go. Many people told us we would be disappointed and im not sure why.
It was raining and cold. It was a fantastic day. We had a great time looking at their wares. It was all and more than I expected. For my sister and I it blue away New York which smelled and had annoying people hocking purses every 5 feet.
Thanks for a great day sweet home Chicago Chinatown.

You can see Chinatown from the station platform if you face southwest. Walking distance to Chinatown but also to the McCormick place. The McCormick place is about a half a mile east from this station. The crosswalk just east of this station is kind of dangerous as well. If you try and Chicago walk it, «J-​Walk», you might get hit. East bound vehicles turning left to go north sneak up behind/​under the bridge/​overpass.

After taking transfer buses that were inconvenient (the drivers were so nice tho), it’s nice to have the commute time cut to be more efficient.
Pros: large, bright televisions and huge screens. You can tell the city put a lot of money into the remodeling!
Cons: they need to turn on those heat lamps faster! Quite windy on that platform!

Average, nothing spectacular. I like Chinese food and shops so this was a very nice stop on our tourist journey through town.

the station is fixed up.
now there is 2 entrances – one in old chinatown and the other in new chinatown.
the escalator is now running.
