I came to crystal-​eyez for my prom makeup after seeing very good reviews all over Facebook. Placing my order was easy. On the website it says come at least 5 min early just to make sure you get all the time you payed for. I got there 10 min early just to be sure. My appointment started at 5 and I was suppose to leave the place at 6. 6 comes and I’m waiting for a chair to open up. 5:10 comes and I’m still waiting. One of the workers comes up to me and asks how I’m doing on time I told her I had to leave the place at 6 if I wanted to make it to prom on time. I WAITED TILL 6:15 TO GET MY MAKEUP DONE! So they started doing my makeup and it only took her 15 minutes. I payed for an hour session $ 75 and ended up with 15 minutes. I didn’t even have time to argue about money at this point I was already running late. I just feel like I had an appointment for a set time now I’m not saying I should have been in the chair at exactly 5 but I waited an hour. Overall the makeup was very nice I will not complain about that but I feel like they should have been a bit more sensitive considering they knew it was my prom day and I gave her the time I had to leave.

I worked with Roju and Bisi from Crystal-​Eyez, and they were both phenomenal. Bisi handled the business aspect and was very responsive to email communication. She even allowed me to make a last minute addition (Mom’s eye makeup) to my booking. Roju was my makeup artist for the big day and did an exceptional job! Everyone was astonished by my flawless makeup, which lasted throughout the ceremony AND reception with very minimal touchup. She helped to make me a drop-​dead gorgeous bride! I would definitely use Crystal-​Eyez again for another event in the future.

I’m sorry to write this review because I’m torn. I was really excited about getting my makeup done for my «the voice» audition. This was the first time I’ve gotten my makeup done. I loved the shop owner, I thought the shop was really beautiful. I was sold on the before and after photos I saw here on Unilocal.I enjoyed my experience with bisi but my makeup was over done. I tried to like it. But by the end of the day I felt very disappointed and like I wasted 75.00. I felt like it hurt my audition as everyone was looking at me like why I had so much makeup on and someone even said «that looks so fake». I posted some photos here at the end. The other photos are posted by the owner of the business. I didn’t realise that this shop mainly does bridal makeup. I guess for that it would have been fine. I did ask for glamorous Hollywood but i also said natural and «not trying too hard». I did not get a single compliment the whole day and I was around hundreds of people. Also, my own son said I confused him with my makeup. It looked like I had plastic surgery or a nose job or something and I have never had anything done! I thought I was going to get star treatment because the owner BISI did it but I was mistaken. I also bought some skin products and no one there could tell me about the products. They just had some stuff on the shelf. Smh

I used Crystal-​Eyez for my bridal makeup as well as my wedding party. Our makeup was AMAZING! What I loved is that I had no idea what look I as looking for or what I actually wanted. I just said «Transform me» When Bisi finished I felt like a celebrity. I didn’t have to give any direction and everyone’s makeup was flawless! I can’t say anything more than it was an AMAZING experience.

I have nothing but great things to say about Crystal-​Eyez Make-​up and Beauty. I used their makeup services for me and my bridesmaids on my wedding day. It was so simple and fast. Bisi was very professional, on time, and informative. I was very satisfied with my makeup. It held all day and all night and I have oily skin! I received so many compliments about my makeup. I would recommend Crystal-​Eyez Make-​up and Beauty to any bride who needs a makeup artist/​hair stylist for their wedding day. You won’t regret it.

I was really excited to go there for my bday make up after seeing their work and reviews. It started badly, the girl who did my makeup arrived 30mn late (so I had to push back my restaurant reservation), for her defense she warned me she’d be 10mn late. During the service, she did not want me to look at the mirror, so I could not stop her… I was literaly horrified when I saw rhe result, I felt painted. Too much lipstick, too much powder or concealer, not my tone at all, it was just too much, I did not recognize myself. I asked her to reduce everything but even after that it was still way too much. She told me I should have specified that I wanted something natural but never when I was booking or before she started I was asked something like that. She was really nice though… Maybe I will go back and stress the fact that I want something natural… Maybe…

Radiance was very lovely and awesome. I did 2 trials and she really listened to my likes and dislikes from both. My best «trial» was on my wedding day!!! Everyone commented on how beautiful and natural my makeup looked. At 11pm, I was still not a greaseball!.. My 3 bridesmaids also looked great!.Thank You!!! Bisi is also lovely and quickly responds to emails.

This has taken me a very long time to complete this review but I looked at my wedding book recently and was once again horrified at the sight of my makeup. She did not do my makeup like the trial, it was awful. Not to mention she had the absolute worst attitude on MY wedding day due to one of my bridesmaid canceling at the last minute. She was so nasty, that I offered her a drink to loosen her up. I paid $ 50 a piece for two trials and $ 500 for the day and I was not happy with my makeup or her stank attitude. I also believe that she did not like my choice to go more natural as the first trial I looked like nicki minajs ratchet sister. Please do yourself a favor and do not think twice about going with someone else! The lady that did my makeup was named Bisi.

I wish I could say that I used the service but unfortunately the makeup artist I was hoping for was booked for my wedding date after I dragged my feet on booking my trial and securing my date. The reason I still felt the need to leave a review was because of the customer service and friendly correspondence I had with the owner, Bisi along the way was great. Although, things didn’t work out this time around I would definitely consider her again in the future.

I initially wanted to get my makeup done in March for my birthday but I was so excited I booked for that upcoming weekend. I was assigned Aaqila as my artist and she was AMAZING !!! She made me look fabulous. When my husband saw me he immediately wanted to make more babies :) I Just want to say Thank you to Crystal-​Eyez and a very special thank you to Aaqila!!! I got compliments the entire day. I received excellent service and my husband was so happy, felt like when we first met… he could not stop smiling at me and I had butterflies all over again because he literally complimented me ALL DAY. The price to me was fair because the results were beautiful. I would absolutely without a doubt recommend Crystal-​Eyez for any occasion when you would like to look fabulous

I had really high hopes for Crystal Eyez when I booked my wedding trial with Kay this past November. I really loved the before/​after photos which revealed amazing transformations. Unfortunately, the experience was not what I was hoping for. The airbrush makeup was not well matched to my skin tone — far too warm and dark. It was also splotchy and not well blended, so I looked like a mess. Additionally, there were no medium-​short lashes on hand for my smaller, hooded eyes so Kay opted to glue on a full set of long lashes and attempted to cut the lashes while they were glued to my eyelids. This was terrifying and also resulted in a completely asymmetrical look, which was hard to look past. Two stars because Kay was very nice and did her best to tried to address my complaints (she lightened up the eyeshadow and swapped out a brown lipstick, terrible for cool skin, for a cooler pink). Unfortunately, this ended up being $ 100 down the drain, as I washed my face and re-​did my makeup as soon as I got home.

A gem in the pilsen area! Last Saturday kay g. Applied my make up and I loved it. I would definitely go back. On there website they have many services !! I’m glad I found them and not far from my house.

If there was a way I could leave no stars, I would. I booked Bisi in April 2014 as the makeup artist for my September 2014 wedding. I had a trial consultation with her in March 2014. I put down the required deposit and was assured that Bisi would be the makeup artist for me and my bridal party on my wedding day. However, less than 48 hours before my wedding, Bisi sent me an email stating she would be out of town that same weekend. I specifically contracted with Bisi for her services and she materially altered the terms of our agreement right before the wedding (41 hours before my wedding to be exact). Obviously, there was no way for me to find alternative services on such short notice (trust me I looked). Instead, she sent a substitute in her place who did not have the same skills, qualifications or ability as Bisi. I think it was completely unprofessional for the owner of the business (Bisi) to alter our agreement. I booked 5 months in advance to avoid this exact situation.
My recommendation: If you are thinking about using them for your wedding, don’t. I would strongly suggest supporting another Black-​owned establishment as you may or may not get exactly what you paid for. And who wants that kind of guarantee on their special day?

So, I planned my wedding in a city that I am not from and do not know anyone that is from there or who lives there. I actually came on the knot and read reviews for Crystal-​eyez and everyone reccommended using them. Well, you know those situations where all of the reviews are positive and then when you go your experience is not great… yeah, well this is not that type of review because my experience was amazing!!! I had Lena C. as my makeup artist. I did a trial with her, the day before my wedding. Yes, you read that correctly, the trial was the day before my wedding but I had already booked her for the wedding and either way, this was a go. I went to trial and crossed my fingers that it would go well. Let me tell you, Lena did a fantastic job. She blended and highlighted and made me look like a model. I felt beautiful just walking out of the studio and on the next, day (my wedding day) she did an even better job. I felt and looked beautiful and that is what all women want on their wedding day. I wanted to be a diva and Lena helped me get there. She is just also an amazing person to talk to and that is a huge plus! I have had my makeup done professionally several time before but never has been done so flawlessly. Lena is a rock star! If you are reading this review, then I just made your life easier because Crystal-​Eyez is definitely for you!!! I mean, come on, their reviews speak for themselves, how can you not use them?! I am so so happy that Lena did my makeup and the makeup of my bridesmaids and my mother who also looked fabulous but not as fabulous as me:) Now that you are done reading my review, go to their website now and book them, you will be glad that you did!!!

I am a weekly, loyal customer of Crystal Eyez. They do an amazing job. Any look you want they will make it happen. Also, the girls are awesome and super nice. One time with them will keep you coming back. They are a very professional company!

I actually agree with the reviewer from 8÷22÷13 regarding this business and I will even add to it that there is a 3% charge to every transaction that is made via Paypal, which to me, is unprofessional and not very customer-​oriented.
I actually used the services of this business for my wedding earlier this week and after taking a few days to think about my experience, I cannot honestly give them more than 2 stars. I really did want to like the business, due to the WOW factor photos listed on their website, but after corresponding with the principal of the business and actually having the service, I am not sold on this service and cannot recommend them or use them again.
To start, I also had to book an appointment online, which was not a problem, but I wish that I would have been able to speak with someone to get my deposit over the phone. At the time, I only booked wedding makeup for myself, a bridesmaid, mother in law, and flower girl and was quoted a price. I had to pay a $ 75 deposit, which ended up being increased by 3% because they told me that I could only provide a deposit via Paypal. They never mentioned I would be stuck with the fees. They refused to take a check or money order for my final payment – is this a legitimate business, or what? I still don’t know why they cannot receive a mailed payment, to a business address listed on their website.
When I went back to pay the balance for my services, I also got smacked with even more fees because the balance was larger than the original deposit. Very unprofessional and greedy because they would rather pass the fees on to the customer than to conduct themselves like an established business that cares about serving clients.
After booking my appointment and paying my deposit, I spoke with a woman named Bisi, who is the head of this business. I expressed to Bisi that I wanted to get airbrushed makeup for my wedding because I thought it provided the best coverage and was weightless, which would have been great for my outdoor ceremony in the heat. Bisi did try to discourage me from getting airbrush and suggested that I get traditional makeup, but I insisted on airbrush, since it is a service offered by this business. I felt I had a choice in the matter, since I am the customer, right?
Fast forward a couple of weeks before my wedding and I get a contract stating that I ordered traditional makeup. I didn’t think there would be much effort in fixing the error before I closed out the contract, so I added the additional $ 25 for the airbrush service to the contract and sent the contract back to Bisi. Bisi emailed me to tell me again, that I should get traditional makeup, as this is what was on my contract and I told her that I mentioned to her that I always wanted airbrush, regardless of what she thought. I didn’t think it was too late to correct this error, due to them making the mistake because I always knew what I wanted. However, the truth finally came out, that the woman assigned to do my makeup did not know how to do airbrush and thus, I was stuck with this person to do a traditional makeup application for me. Though this business goofed with my contract, Bisi assured me that the kind of makeup used would offer an airbrushed finish.
On the day of my wedding, I got my makeup application and found that the makeup artist (MUA) used simple MAC makeup that I already have in my collection. However, I also found out that though the MUA lugged a HUGE makeup case with her, her selections and colors were EXTREMELY limited and the inside of her case was FILTHY. This MUA told me that her case was so dirty because makeup accidentally got dumped inside the bag the prior week, but one would never have known this, based on the condition of the inside of her case. It was a turnoff and made me think that this MUA was not very sanitary with her applicators.
I believe I was right about this, when the MUA kept having to go wash out her sponges after she applied makeup to me and the rest of the girls in my party. I would have assumed that the MUA would have had enough clean brushes and applicators for our jobs, but I guess my original thoughts about her lack of supplies was correct, based upon this. I still don’t think she was able to get the right foundation color for my skin, due to the fact that she lacked selection. This is very different than the variety of color and applications you see applied to the models on the website.
After my makeup application was done, the MUA placed false eyelashes on me, which came with the service, but the container that held the eyelashes was filthy, and the MUA seemed not to be too knowledgeable about how to apply these to my eyes. After I made it to my reception, I had to remove the lashes because one kept hanging and did not have enough adhesive. It was very uncomfortable and made my photos look varied because there are some with me in lashes and then others with me without lashes. I didn’t like this service at all.

In need of an awesome make up artist for my wedding and I’m hoping this will be the place. The gallery online showed amazing work but booking a trial isn’t so easy. If you call you are directed to email or send a text. I have texted and was instructed this long instruction of going online to book your appointment. Also, you need to make a deposit which I’m not sure is customary with other vendors. Well like I said I’m curious to see their work so I booked online but when you get the to part to pay thru PayPal then nothing… Can someone please work on this or have a receptionist that will attend to your clients at the store or online. I’ve been trying to book an appointment for the last 2 days and still no luck. The best customer service if you as me is attending to your clients need.

I had an appointment with Lena. She did an amazing job on the grundge/​goth look I requested for a photoshoot. I did’nt have issues with my makeup or lashes wearing off, my eyebrows were shaped PERFECTLY. I will definitely be going back to Crystal Eyez for further shoots.

Crystal eyez has the best makeup artist ever!!! I had my makeup done for my wedding April 20^th and I literally looked like a doll! Awesome!!! They were on-​time for my wedding. Bisi is the owner… connected me to Lena! Lena came with another makeup artist for my wedding. These lovely women are highlyyyyyy talented!!! i would give them 10 stars!
I just moved to Chicago from New York and i believe i hit jackpot finding them. I will be going to them for future makeup when i have big events to go…

I’ve worked with many make up artist in Chicago and Crystal-​Eyez is hands down the best. I hired them to do make up for my bridal party and I and they were professional, on-​time and the make up was flawless. Unfortunately due to my wedding planner not being the vendor liaison she was hired for or giving Bisi the timeline for the day, there ended up being a scheduling conflict. However, Bisi moved her other appointment around to be sure we were all finished in time. She did not have to do that, but she did, and I REALLY appreciate that. Everyone looked great. Bisi and her team are great at making you look great without to much make up, it looks glamorous, yet very natural. She is my go-​to make up artist because I’ve NEVER been disappointed!
