Description

Specialties

We specialize in everything art! BYOB paint parties, fun art, fine art and furniture painting classes all under one roof. We also feature local artists and sell their works. Birthday parties and private events are a good time here.

We host local events held in various restaurants, nursing homes, hotels and even private venues.

Corks and Brushes is not just a place to drink wine and paint. Because we take art seriously, we also focus on fine art as well as structured art programs for both children and adults.

History

Established in 2012.

This is a non corporate, privately owned business that started due to the love of art.

This business started years ago as an interior design firm and later turned into a small boutique carrying vintage finds that were often repaired, repainted, rejuvinated and put back into circulation. We are now a larger venue carrying painted and re purposed furniture and art. We conduct BYOB art parties, furniture painting classes, exhibits, paint workshops and more.

Corks and Brushes hosts their fun art parties throughout the Chicago land area, setting up in local restaurants, hotels, nursing homes and even private venues.

‘Our goal is to touch as many people as we can with art. ~Art is therapy and paired with wine how could you not feel relaxed?’

Meet the Business Owner

Yolanda ‘Gina’ D.

Business Owner

Gina has a lifelong background in art. Starting as a child she was scolded for painting on her furniture, ‘I was trying to make it prettier’, she said.

Gina grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, her mom owning several restaurants and living a secret life as an interior designer. Her father owning a furniture store, which back then Gina hated.

As a child Gina and her mom would frequent resale shops for great finds to repurpose.

Her adult life took her through various professions, none of which fed into her artistic self. After being in the banking and mortgage industry and feeling trapped, Gina went back to school to tap into her passion.

It was finally when Ginas father passed in 2012 that she decided to go full force opening a great furniture store, selling beautifully painted furniture often found on her many quests to resale shops and estate sales. Then opening 2 art studios in the Chicago area.

All of this passion for art and design has bought Gina full circle.
