Specialties
The friendly staff knows many by name and is delighted to recommend food for any mood. Fish and chips, Coq d’Or hamburger, sandwiches, Bookbinder soup, turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, salads, desserts, and much more are all extremely reasonably priced and available from 11:00 AM. But it’s not just about food and drinks, it’s about friends, service, and a home away from home. On our two large televisions, watch the stock markets go up and down weekdays, with sporting events tuned in evenings and weekends.
The Coq d’Or is available for small parties of 20 to 30. An ideal venue for a bachelorette party or friendship reunion.
History
Established in 1933.
The Coq d’Or at The Drake Hotel, Chicago, opened its doors the day after Prohibition was repealed (and has been packing in the crowds ever since). Local residents delight in Executive Cocktails (4 oz), wines, beers, after work, dinner, or the show.
