Marisa is really great! She helped fix an old pair of glasses. Thanks to her I got to keep the frames & now they are as good as new. Super friendly. Very professional. Highly recommended.

I came here for an eye exam and to shop around for frames– always a pleasant experience with a great selection, and a sufficient number of both professionalesque as well as artsy frames, but nothing terribly run-​of-​the mill and not a whole lot of crazy high-​end stuff.
Seems the going rate for frames is outrageously expensive in general, but your options if you don’t want to buy on a direct-​from-​China website are pretty limited, and the customer service here is pretty awesome. Marissa has a lot of good stuff to say and knows her product lines very well.

I’m writing a slightly different type of recommendation than most of the others — and I hope that it’s well received by the business, because it’s certainly well intended. I bought glasses online last year from Warby Parker and during the time that my one year old grew into a two year old, they’ve certainly seen some rough service.
Barely fitting my face anymore, I slunk into Contacts and Specs during naptime today and was warmly greeted and had my bent glasses expertly fitted. There was a $ 20 fee, which the owner provided me with all the documentation and instructions for having Warby Parker reimburse.
I look forward to shopping at Contacts and Specs next time I’m looking for new frames, and will be recommending their fitting service to other bedraggled souls who didn’t opt to buy local — at least we can support local (cool) businesses in this kinda sideways way.
Update: It turns out that Warby Parker only reimburses for 30 days after the purchase, but I hadn’t told the owner when I bought my glasses (and I was going to pay reimbursement or not) and the service and fit were excellent.

What a pleasant surprise that I stumbled into this place on a whim while walking home from the train! Browsing through their selection, I was thoroughly impressed with the eclectic new and vintage frames. After being shown their spread of vintage $ 80 frames by Marissa, I quickly found a clear pair with blue accents. She looked into my insurance coverage, offered their frame options, and finalized my purchase with the utmost professionalism and customer service. After visiting many other places to find the perfect frames, I’m thrilled to have found them right in my neighborhood. Great business, definitely check them out.

After wearing the glasses for a few days, I’m ready to write my review. I’ve been looking around for a store that knows how to work with a high prescription and was very happy when I went into contacts and specs. The optician was able to answer all my questions and even offered a few tips on what to get that I never even knew existed.
I came in here a couple times before finally deciding on my pair and she was friendly and knowledgeable every time. It’s refreshing to go into a store where someone knows the right balance of not hounding its customers, but sensing when you need assistance and genuinely being happy to help.
I’m incredibly happy with the services and glasses I received and have never had a pair of such quality lenses! They got it perfect the first time around. I’ll definitely be coming back here the next time I need a new pair.

Cool store with great service, I walked in and was instantly greeted. They have lots of unique glasses and sunglasses, I ended up getting an awesome pair of Matte RayBans!
They also do repairs on glasses and have an optometrist for eye exams so that’s a plus as well. I will definitely be back to support a local neighborhood business!

LOVE that we have a new place to get glasses and contacts in Logan Square! I have issues finding the right glasses because I have a wide face and most glasses fit too tight. But Marissa was sooooooo helpful and picked out frames based on my facial features. I am extremely happy with my Bevel frames! Everyone is super friendly too :-)

So, after wearing the same glasses for well over a decade, I decided it was time for a change. While on one of my weekend walks with my son, I stumbled upon this store. During a weekday, I stopped by just to look at some glasses. Marissa helped me. She noted the current pair I was wearing, then offered suggestions. In about an half hour, I selected a great pair of glasses. These new glasses are different and striking for me. I’m finally up in the style of eyeglasses thanks to Marissa’s help. After going through the fitting process, I waited for my glasses. In about a week, I got a call that they were ready. Once I got them, I remembered why I fell for this pair. They look great. They’re my style. Perfect, really. There was a tiny error in my paperwork. A couple days later, I got an updated receipt. I really like this store. Such great service, great glasses, overall awesome. Glad I took a chance on a small, local shop for my new glasses.

Marissa was very friendly and professional. She gave me an honest opinion on what frames fit me best, based off my everyday life. The décor of the store is awesome! Overall had a great experience from the doctor to the store service and product. They have a great selection of smaller independent frame manufacturers, that in my opinion stand out more than mainstream lines. I highly recommend this place to anyone in need of glasses or contacts.
